Coppin State Gets Rocked By 49ers, 99-53
Free Throws Only Saving Grace in Beatdown

Laramie, WY (AP) - Leemire Goldwire lead the way with 27 points as the Charlotte 49ers rout the Coppin State Eagles 99-53 in the BCA Invitational.

The key stat in Charlotte's win was the 40 fast break points and 62 points in the paint. Due to the lack of size on Coppin State, the 49ers keyed in on that and took full advantage.

In a day where nothing where everything seemed to go wrong, the one shining spot was free throw shooting. Coppin State shot a stellar 90% from the strip.

Antwan Harrison lead all scores for the Eagles with 12 points.

Coppin State Gets Clawed; Tigers Win 96-55
Eagles See No Relief In Sight

Clemson, SC (AP) - U-G-L-Y, you ain't got no alibi, YOU UGLY. That's what you heard at the end of the game by Clemson fans chanting about the horrid 41 point smackdown the Tigers laid on the Eagles of Coppin State on Monday.

And that's exactly what it was, an ugly game played by CSU. Once again, the Eagles gave up a ton of fast break points and points in the paint. Costly turnovers and not being able to get the ball inside were mistake on the offensive side of the ball.

Chuckie Ivey lead all Coppin State players with 14 points, including a couple of threes.

Eagles So Close From First Win In 73-66 Loss To Detroit
In A Game of Runs, Detroit Had Just One More Than CSU

Las Vegas, NV (AP) - Despite having multiple leads of 6 points, Coppin State just couldn't hang on to them. Allowing the Titans to grab 16 offensive rebounds was the downfall in the 73-66 loss.

Coppin State grabbed an early second half 6 point lead at 39-33 and held on for a few minutes without extending it further, but Detroit soon rallied for a 16-2 run. Down 49-41 at that point, Coppin State answered with oddly enough a 16-2 run of their own to reclaim the 6 point lead at 57-51.

For the rest of the half, it was back and forth. With under a minute and the fouling began, it was 69-66 Detroit on the 2nd attempt free throw and missed, but like all day long, the Titans grabbed the rebound and secured the victory.

Darryl Roberts was the anchor today with 22 points, including 5 of 10 from beyond the arc. Although Chesnut was only 1 of 6 from the field, his inside presence kept this game from getting out of reach.

Well, at least over your first few games you've been gradually getting closer to that first victory.

I'm a bit surprised Proctor isn't doing better for you.

If you can ride this year out, things should get better. You got a young team that's bound to just get better.

                        Have fun playing against UCLA.

Your FG% sucks, Brian must coach your offense.

The signing period has begun so I'll be updating. Coppin State is definitely looking towards bringing in some size, as this years squad is definitely lacking the presence of a big man.

Eagles Get Trashed By Musketeers 99-44
Lack of Size Too Much For CSU To Overcome

Cincinnati, OH (AP) - What a tale of two different teams for Coppin State. In the first 10 minutes, CSU was hitting everything. Despite being killed on the boards, the Eagles were only trailing by 7. Then the wheels fell off, the transmission dropped and the doors flew off. It got ugly quick. Sparked by a 36-5 Xavier run, they got it out to 50 points and never looked back.

Coppin State started out of the gates, shooting 5 of 10 from beyond the arc. However, they finished a dismal 0 of 16 the rest of the game.

Said Coach Fang Mitchell, "We've got to figure out a way to box out. We're absolutely getting killed on the boards. I know we don't have alot of height but we have to find ways to make up for it. This team simply isn't trying."

                              Wow.

It will probably take until January to win a game. Sorry, Tyler, but it's true.
