Thanks! Admittedly the run is a bit tainted, because I'm still playing on All-Conference. I started on that for the first season because I hadn't played much 2K3 hoops and wanted to get familiar with it without being discouraged by being blown out all the time. I decided to keep it through the first season, but I'll definitely be switching to All-American for my second and subsequent seasons.

NCAA Final Four - National Semi-Finals
Louisiana Superdome – New Orleans, LA
#13 Seed (West) UW-Green Bay Phoenix
vs
#8 Seed (Midwest) Notre Dame Fighting Irish
UWGB 60, Notre Dame 50
Taking one more step toward its NCAA destiny, UW-Green Bay defeated Notre Dame 60-50 in the first national semi-final game. The adrenaline-fueled Phoenix used an 11-0 run in the 1st half to create a 27-11 lead that they never looked back from. The Fighting Irish were able to stop that run with a tip-follow jam and start a 7-0 run of their own, but they could never get back any closer than four points the rest of the game. UWGB shot only 35.9% in the 1st half, but Notre Dame was even worse at 26.5%. UWGB led 38-22 at the break behind 9 points each by SF Oscar Rogers and C E.F. Matthews. SG Barry McElroy had 14 for Notre Dame in that half. The Irish were able to cut the lead to 46-42 with 5:43 to play on a spinning layup, but the Phoenix answered with a few baskets and extended the margin to 54-46 on a layup by PG Blair Abbott with 1:22 to go. Matthews led UWGB with 15 points, 19 rebounds and 5 steals, and was joined in double figures by Rogers' 11 points and Abbott's 10. Notre Dame only had one player in double figures with McElroy's 20.
In the other semi-final game the Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Michigan State Spartans 86-70, which interestingly enough sets up a re-match of UWGB's very first game of this season (won by UW-Green Bay 73-65). The two teams will meet again on Monday for the title of 2003 NCAA National Champions.
NCAA 2003 National Championship Game
Louisiana Superdome - New Orleans, LA
#13 Seed (West) UW-Green Bay
vs
#10 Seed (East) Wisconsin
UWGB 73, Wisconsin 45
Cinderella has arrived! The UW-Green Bay Phoenix have made the improbable a reality by running the table in the 2003 NCAA Tournament and defeating the Wisconsin Badgers 73-45 to culminate their dynamic season. Trailing early 15-13, UWGB took off on a 12-0 run to lead 25-13 with just under seven minutes remaining in the 1st half. They carried this momentum into the half, leading 36-28 on the strength of a 26-10 lead in points in the paint. Wisconsin was ice cold from the floor, hitting only 3-of-16 from 3-point range in the 1st half en route to 30.6% shooting. They finished the game shooting only 27.1% overall from the floor, which will certainly lead to a long offseason for the Badgers. The Phoenix were led at the half by C E.F. Matthews and his 13 points, 13 rebounds. Matthews capped a MVP-type year with his performance in this game, ending his senior year with 21 points and 25 rebounds while playing the entire game. Wisconsin was able to create a stir mid-way through the 2nd half, closing to within 48-43 with 8:31 to go. However, UWGB put the clamps on defensively and opened the floodgates offensively in a spectacular 23-0 run that had the green and white faithful dancing in the aisles. Wisconsin didn't score again until 1:27 remaining in the game.
