    NBA 2K3 Franchise - Wizards

I am a little into my franchise whcih is an 82 game season and I am currently 19-1. My current team consists of :

    Starters :
    PG-Larry Hughes
    SG-Jerry Stackhouse
    SF-Bryon Russell / Kwame Brown
    PF-P.J. Brown / Kwame Brown
    C-Brandan Haywood / P.J. Brown

I used to start Christian Laentneer but P.J. has worked himself into the starting rotation. I got P.J. Brown in a trade which I traded Charle Oakley and Jhadi White for him. The main reason I made that trade was to get rid of Jhadi White cause I didn't want his contract anymore, and I figured P.J. Brown would be a good addition to the team as a good rebounder and maybe give us 6-8 points a night. He just recently earned a starting spot 2 games ago and in the two games he's started he's had 11 boards and 15 boards respectively. Also on the bench I have :

    SG-Juan Dixon
    SF-Michael Jordan
    PF-Christian Laetnerr
    PF-Etan Thomas
    PG-Tyronn Lue

    Injured Reserve

    SG-Jared Jeffries
    PF-Matt Bullard

I also have Kwame Brown, Jared Jeffries and Matt Bullard on the trading block. No decent offers have come in for any of them but it's still early in the season.

As I said before I am 19-1 and my only loss was a 3 point one to the Lakers in which Stackhouse scored 51 points and just missed a 3 pointer that could have sent the game into overtime. My next game is against the Blazers who are 10-8 and I'll post the result and stats of that game later.

I just suffered 2 consecutive losses tonight but yet I am happy. I've been using some new slider settingsd (tweaked by me) and i have had 2 of the best games I've had in awhile playing this game.

(I have palyed every game of this season on 12 min. quarters, changed to 10 min. quarters about 5 or so games ago.)

The first one I loss was a blowout loss to the Nets but the reason why is I fell too far ahead too early. With the new sliders the computer is very aggressive on the offensive end and it took me by surprise.

The next game was a tight one but the Raptors beat me 98-96. I don't want to post my slider settings just yet until I play a few more games and tweak it some more if need be.

Next update I'll show some of the stats of the game I played and hopefully within the next couple of days I can post my slider settings.

My record is now 23-4 and I have been having some real competition lately. After my 2 losses I beat the knicks pretty bad and then go to SA where Tim Duncan took my entire team to school at one point or another.

Next I had the Mavs and my first thought was oh S*** I am gonna get blown out again but fortunately only Dirk was getting his shots to fall and I ended up winning that one.

Then the Wizards followed that up with a win over Atlanta and the Grizzlies, but I have a rematch with T-Mac and the Majic up next. I won our first meeting and we'll see if the Wizards can pull off another victory.

Up and down he averages 20 PPG and like 4 or 5 RPG but he has really turned it up lately with Stackhouse in sort of a slump. Also Tyronn Lue has been stepping up his game averaging 10 and 10 in points and assists over the last 2 games and has taken the starting PG spot from Larry Hughes, who just got off the IR which I forgot to post earlier

Also Kenny Thomas (acquired by trade I forgot who) is on the IR for like another month with a strained abdomen which must've happened in practice cause I did not sim any games and the game before I saw he was on the injured list he was playing and did not get injured.

Re: NBA 2K3 Franchise - Wizards

Just using this post to list my current roster as I have made a few trades and a few FA aqusitions.

Larry Hughes - Starting at SG and has been back for about 3 games since his injury (bruised hip) and has been playing solid ball

Tyronn Lue - Starting at PG because he uped his game so much in the absence of Larry Hughes. Runs the offense well without taking too many shots that he shouldn't but sometimes he gets cocky.

Jerry Stackhouse - Ask me about 10 games ago who the cornerstone of this team was and I would tell you it was Stackhouse cause he has played hard in the early parts of this season and is tied for first in the league in scoring with 30.0 PPG

Christian Laetnerr - Starting at PF... why? beacause he has been so money lately. He has been scoring and rebounding the way I need him to, and he doesn't look like he's going to slow down anytime soon

Brendan Haywood - What can I say about Brendan? Well he is back in the starting lineup at C but he lost his job for about 5 games to P.J. Brown because he just wasn't getting it done. He is the team leader in rebounding (due in part to a lot of great games early in the season) and hopefully he can get his game back to where it was when the season started.

                    Also on the bench is:

                    P.J. Brown
                    Michael Jordan
Bryan Russell (He's so about to get put on the trading block)
Dell Curry (picked up off of FA wire)
                    Travis Best (Also FA pickup)
                    Kwame Brown
                    Chris Gatling

                    IR members are :

                    Dion Glover
                    Juan Dixon
and the only person who is on IR that is actually injured is:
Kenny Thomas with an abdomen strain 42 more days

Next up for the Wixards is a game at home vs. the Atlanta Hawks

Re: NBA 2K3 Franchise - Wizards

Behind a great offensive effort from Jordan and contributions all around the Wizards beat the Hawks 84-73 to improve to 24-4

The Wizards outrebounded the Hawks by 9 (42-33) and got 11 offensive rebounds to Atlanta's 4

In another surprising stat that is probably why the Hawks lost was the Wizards outscored their bench 44-0.

Of course 27 of those points were from MJ but still you got to admit it's pretty bad when a team gets nothing from their bench players

                        Here are some stats

                        Jordan - 27 Pts. 11/16 FG and 3 rebounds
                        Stackhouse - 12 Pts. 5/17 FG 7 assists and 3 rebounds
                        Haywood - 8 Pts. 4/6 FG 6 assists and 12 rebounds

and for the hawks only 2 people were really getting the job done, and that was Jason Terry and Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

Terry 25 Pts. 9/11 FG 6 assists and 2 steals
                        Abdur-Rahim 24 Pts. 12/23 FG 3 assists and 9 rebounds

Thank God for Jordan cause Jerry Stackhouse had a horrible game, next up is the Orlando Majic.

The Washington Wizards (26-4) hit some big free throws down the stretch to upend the Orlandon Majic (16-17) 100-94

Jerry Stackhouse had an outstanding game starting from the opening tip, he had 23 first half points and ended up with:

                            48 pts. 22/36 FG (3/4 3 pt. FG) 3 ast. 9 reb. and 3 steals

He went back and forth with Tracy McGrady throughout the whole game.

Here are the stats for some standout players :

                            Wizards
Michael Jordan 18 pts. 5 ast. in 20 minutes of play
                            P.J. Brown 14 pts. 3 ast. 5 reb.
Travis Best 6 pts. 7 ast.
Tyronn Lue 4 pts. 9 ast.

                            Majic
Tracy McGrady 41 pts. 1 ast.
Horace Grant 12 pts. 8 reb.

The Majic outrebounded the Wizards 33-31 which is not a sizeable margin. The Wizards bench outscored Orlando's 28-21, it's not the 44-0 drumming of last game (vs. Hawks see previous post) but it is stil an advantage.

Th Wizards next game is at home vs. the San Antonio Spurs
