Jacobson and Parkinson trade 3pters then after Jacobson hits another 3pter to tie the game, Hardaway drops in a couple of layups to give American the lead. George buries a jumper then after Collum and George trade 3pters, Pait makes two free throws. Bird drops in a layup and after Jacobson cans a pair of free throws, Pait tips in a rebound. Wooden and Granger bank in layups to give Georgia a seven point lead, 27-20, with just under 5:00 left. Barlett and Quick put in layups and after Viegas hits 1 of 2 free throws, van de Laar and Ariza trade layups. Halsch banks in a couple of layups on fast breaks then after Montgomery knocks down a turnaround jumper, Goodman makes 1 of 2 free throws. Goodman and van de Laar both bank in layups on fast breaks to pull Army to within ten, 28-18, with 5:00 left. Second Half
Black puts in a layup and Barlett makes two free throws then after van de Laar and Atkins trade jumpers, van de Laar and Blackgrove trade 3pters. Ariza slams in a dunk then Bey and Halsch trade jumpers as North Carolina increases their lead to 26, 57-31, with 15:00 remaining. Atkins buries a turnaround jumper and after Jacobson hits a 3pter, Blackgrove drains a runner. Jacobson knocks down a jumper then after Atkins puts in a layup, Jacobson sinks a 3pter and a jumper to pull Army to within 22, 63-41, midway through the second half. Blackgrove puts in a layup on a fast break and makes two free throws then after Jacobson and Halsch trade layups, Blackgrove nails a jumper. Flores and Blackgrove bank in layups on fast breaks then Norwood drops in a short jumper to pull the Black Knights to within 30, 75-45, with 5:00 left. Goodman and Bakinde trade layups and after Bey and Atkins trade jumpers, Flores makes 1 of 2 free throws to end the game as the Tar Heels send the Black Knights home.

News Flash!!
Norfolk, VA - It was announced today at the Consant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia that coach Bob Knight has signed a 2-year contract to become the head coach of the Old Dominion Monarchs of the Colonial Athletic Association.
"I wish to thank the Army military academy at West Point for their support the last five seasons and wish the basketball program the best of luck in the future. I will miss the academy, the players and the fans." coach Knight stated.
