      Starting Line-Up Still In Limbo

One day after freshman Patrick Irvin started the season opener, Columbia head coach Tim Sheehan made a switch and decided to go with last year's starter Daniel Trepanier.

Irvin had stuggled in the first game, while Trepanier had played well off the bench. Sheehan felt he made a mistake rushing Irvin out there so soon, and decided it'd be smarter to slowly work him into the starting lineup.

Now one day removed from senior guard Mack Montgomery's breakout game in which he scored 26 points off the bench, Sheehan has another player fighting for that fifth and final starting spot.

"I really couldn't tell you who will be starting on any given night," said Sheehan.

"All three of them guys are extremely talented and bring different things to the table when they're on the court. It'll depend alot on matchups and who has the hot hand."

Columbia will play Northern Illinois on Sunday in the BCA Classic Finals.

OOC: These last two games my opponents refused to play any defense in the paint whatsoever. I probably should have won by 50 again but I kept making stupid passes. Hopefully the lack of defense is due to playing a couple not-so-good inexperienced teams, otherwise I'm gonna need some slider adjustments...I got two road games against BCS schools this week though(including #2 UCLA), so I guess I'll see then...I gotta say that you really do feel the difference in how good your team is as they build experience and their team unity rises. I'll shut up now

                Columbia Makes Poll Debut

The Columbia Lions are ranked in the Scouts Inc. Mid-Major Poll for the first time ever.

In the poll released on Monday, the Lions were ranked 18th with a 5-1 record. Columbia is coming off a Columbia Classic championship after losing in the BCA Classic championship game. Columbia has won their last two games by a combined 66 points.

The Lions road gets alot tougher this week, as they will head to the road three times, including games at Purdue and at #2 UCLA. UCLA defeated Columbia in the first round of the NCAA tournament last season, the Lions are hoping to exact some revenge on the Bruins.
