Re: Tampa Bay Devil Rays- Road to the Top (MLB 2K7)
St. Petersburg, FL- When asked in a press conference today about his team's lackluster 0-6 start, Tampa Bay Devil Rays Manager Joe Maddon responded, "I don't know! It's simple in my eyes! We stink! I wish we could send all these guys down to AAA Durham and call all those guys up and give them a chance. Heck, it couldn't be any worse, I mean, look at the standings! We're 0-6 already. It couldn't hurt!
Once Joe Maddon calmed down, he told St. Petersburg Times reporters that in the next couple of days, fans should expect some major moves in the organization. He would not elaborate past. That could mean a free agent signing, GM change, trade, or a call-up from AAA Durham Bulls. Only time will tell which is the correct answer.

Re: Tampa Bay Devil Rays- Road to the Top (MLB 2K7)
St. Petersburg, FL- Brand new General Manager of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, James Frizzell, announced today, April 11th, 2007, that a trade had been reached with the Houston Astros of the National League Central. Tampa Bay trades 3rd baseman Ibarra, 3rd baseman Upton, and struggling starting pitcher Jackson to the Astros in return for Middle Reliver Dan Wheeler and 2nd baseman and former Red Sox, Mark Loretta.
Middle Reliver Dan Wheeler will be a very strong force in the bullpen right off the bat. He has an 82 rating. It is possible that the Rays may convert him into a setup man or a closer.
2nd baseman Mart Loretta is expected to start right away in place of B.J. Upton, who was traded to the Astros in the deal, at the shortstop position. He is a fairly good player (74 rating) and is definitely an upgrade frim B.J. Upton, who has been struggling so far this year (.111 average, 1 HR, 2 RBIs and several errors). Loretta is 35 years old and should provide a good bat and excellent fielding for several more years.
Joe Maddon was very pleased with the deal. He responded, "This is great! This trade gives us a steady reliable arm in the bullpen and a sound shortstop who can field just about anything!"
The only question surrounding this deal is who will replace Edwon Jackson in the rotation. Jackson was only starting because Casey Fossum was injured with a torn elbow ligament. The rays may go even with a four-man rotation. Jackson was scheduled to pitch on April 14th in the finale of the Rays-Twins series. We will see what happens in the days to come.
Tampa Bay Gets: MR Dan
Wheeler and 2B Mark Loretta.
Houston gets: 3B Ibarra, 3B Upton,
and SP Jackson

Re: Tampa Bay Devil Rays- Road to the Top (MLB 2K7)
Minneapolis, MN- Tampa Bay Devil Rays manager Joe Maddon has been pleased by his team's past couple of ballgames. "I've definitely seen improvement", he said. "We've been pretty good as of late." The Rays have allowed scores of 0, 2, and 0 their past three games leading to an earned run average of 0.67. Maddon said, "We've been playing great. Especially our pitching, we've been pitching grreat lately. Early on we were awful, but lately we've been great. I believe we've got a 0.67 ERA or something like that! I feel like we may be able to contend in the AL East later on this year."
The Devil Rays will face the Twins in the second game in a four game series tomorrow.Last edited by superjames1992; 06-16-2007, 06:40 PM.Comment

Re: Tampa Bay Devil Rays- Road to the Top (MLB 2K7)
Yeah, I traded Upton because he was struggling. I know he's a great young prospect, but I needed a closer (McClung had like a 10.00 ERA). Dan Wheeler has pitched 2 scoreless innings so far allowing one hit. He hasn't been in a save situation let. Loretta is doing pretty well in place of Upton. He's hitting like .280.
I don't know how I hit Santana like that, I just got to him early.
I wish the Yankees and Blue Jays would stop winning, luckily the Yankees have lost two in a row. Luckily, during that time I've went on a hot streak, picking up 2.5 game on the Yankees.
I'm from High Point, NC. High Point is Southwest of Greensboro and about an hour and a half north of Charlotte.
Thanks for the comments! I'll be following your Louisville dynasty.Last edited by superjames1992; 06-16-2007, 04:41 PM.Comment

Re: Tampa Bay Devil Rays- Road to the Top (MLB 2K7)
Hello! Just wanted to let you know that I am going to switch from classic batting mode to analog batting mode for the next game. Classic has gotten too easy. I always thought analog was hard, but I've been practicing with it and have gotten better. I'm almost done with my next game. I'm pitching another shutout. I might be able to get Scott Kazmir a complete game shutout. Well, I'm going to go finish my game now! Bye!Comment
