Look for the "coup de grasse" (sp) once the regular season begins. (hint) You know how I like to put the readers in the seats.

Re: The Return of "The Earl of Baltimore" - MLB, The Show 2007

From the Desk of Manager Earl Weaver

So far we have played the first three games of this week and we are 1-2 for the week.

              Defeated Florida (home), 10-3
              Lost to St.Louis (home), 11-7
              Lost to St.Louis (home), 1-0

Erik Bedard took 43 pitches in his first start to go his 3 innings. In his second start, the 11-7 loss to the Cardinals, he took 72 pitches. He's got to throw more strikes.

Kris Benson only took 36 pitches in his first start to go his 3 innings. In his second start, the 1-0 loss to the Cardinals, he only took 20 pitches. That's a great performance so far. I wish we had more pitchers like him.

We are 4-3 through the first seven spring games, but the win/loss record is not a concern since the games don't count and we can't face the Marlins all the time. The main thing is to look at the players and mold the 25-man roster.

(are there any questions for Earl Weaver? if so, fire away!)

                  2nd week, Spring 2007

The second week has ended and we really didn't do to well.

                  Defeated Florida (home), 10-3
                  Lost to St.Louis (home), 11-7
                  Lost to St.Louis (home), 1-0
Lost to New York Mets (away), 6-4
Lost to Washington (home), 6-3 - 10 innings
                  Lost to St.Louis (home), 4-2

We now sit at 4-6 through our first 10 games this spring but manager Earl Weaver is getting a better look at what his roster may look like when the team breaks camp.

Earl Weaver has decided that he will now break his position players into two squads and will alternate games starting with the game on Sunday on the road against the Boston Red Sox.

Since I read that no injuries occur during spring training, the rest of the games have been simmed.
