Chubb Small was back from his injury in this one as we performed fairly well. Our offense was not great, but we did not turn the ball over once! That's a great accomplishment in this game. Our defense played well, forcinf 4 turnovers and only allowing 14 points. We improve to 3-1 (1-0).

Haha, thanks! Things have been going great lately for us, things are really clicking. It's a lot more fun when you win! Hopefully, I can keep this run going through the conference schedule, and I may land a spot in the Conference USA Championship Game!

Also, I finally saw "We Are Marshall" last weekend. At our local grocery store, you get a free movie after you spend a certain amount of money at the store, so I got "We Are Marshall". I though it was pretty good. I got tired of waiting for it to come on HBO, you see? :wink:

Week 5- Marshall Thundering Herd (3-1) (1-0) @ Rice Owls (2-2) (1-0)

We may have came into this game a little overconfident in ourselves. Rice, the weakest team ratings-wise we've played so far, got the best of us in this Conference USA road matchup, as we fell to the Owls 34-28. We took an early 14-0 lead, but the Owls countered, scoring 21 points in the 2nd quarter en route to a 28 unanswered points. We scored 2 touchdowns in the 4th, and with 1 minute left recovered the onside kick to put ourselves at out own 45 yard line down by just a field goal. Our offense stuttered, however, as the 4th and 17 play fell incomplete and the game was over. We fall to 3-2 (1-1).

Yeah, those teams can get you as we saw with USC last week against Stanford (In real life). I went ahead 14-0 early thinking I had the game in the bag, but once they scored 28 unanswered points, it really destroyed my confindence. Oh well, there's always next week!

The 3rd down conversion rate in the game vs. Rice couldn't have helped much I'm pretty impressed though that you could put up 28 points with only 52 yards on the ground

Nope, 2-12 doesn't allow you to get too much going. Then, allowing them to go 10-17 is the killer.

Yeah, I finally got Chubb Small back from injury, only to see him be injured again and out for the rest of the game. Small has been injured 6 of my last 8 ballgames, and even though he's very good, he doesn't get to play much because he is always injured! Unfortunately, outside of him, we don't have any other good runningbacks. It's a lose-lose situtaion. If I could get the runningback situation worked out, everthing would be perfect.

What can I say, Rice must have my number. It's always close, too. They beat us 31-27 last year and 34-28 last year. Oh well, there's always next year!
