Re: Bryant-less Lakers beat up on streaking Raptors..

TRADE RUMORS - There has been a rumor that the Nets are after the Raptors rookie center, Nate Huffman, willing to give up Brian Scalabrine.

'I think It's a little to early to think about giving up on Huffman. He's a rookie, and yes, he's made a few mistakes this year, but he's also showed signs of brilliance. I love his outside shot, and not willing to give that up to another Eastern Conference team'--Lenny Wilkens on his rookie big man, Nate Huffman...

Tarheel Alums face up in a game in the Bay Area...

      TOR @ GS

Golden State could quite possible be the worst team in the league. At least their record says so, as they stand at a disgusting 5-22 . So who got the better end of the trade, you may ask.

Antawn Jamison performed better than Carter did in this meeting, but it didn't matter, because Carter's team won this one.

'It's great to play against a former teammate, but we had to hand them the loss', says Carter after the game.

The Raptors win this one, 99-85.

      Golden State STATS
      Antawn Jamison - 29 points, 11 rebounds
      Gilbert Arenas - 11 points, 5 assist

      Toronto STATS
      Vince Carter - 19 points 5 rebounds, 9 assist
      Eddie Griffin - 17 points
      Moochie Norris - 9 points, 8 assist

Next Game: Toronto (16-13) @ Los Angeles Lakers (18-12)

Raptors take a beating in Hollywood...

          TOR @ LAL

Last time these teams met, we saw all Vince and now Kobe. However, the Lakers won big-time. Tonight, the Hollywood-ers are watching Vince and Kobe, possibly the 2 best guards in the league.

Kobe didn't play much in the first meeting, and Carter didn't play much in this one. While Carter did have an impressive 32 points, he did so in three quarters, and didn't play much anymore because of foul-trouble. Shaq did his thing, 25 points, 21 rebounds.

The game was never close and the Lakers roll to their 4 consecutive victory over the Raptors, who just can't seem to get a streak going.

          Lakers win big, 121-109.

          LA Lakers STATS
          Kobe Bryant - 35 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assist
          Shaquille O'Neal - 25 points, 21 rebounds, 7 assist

          Toronto STATS
          Vince Carter - 32 points, 8 rebounds

Raptors end the 2002 year with a victory over the stuggling Jazz...

                          TOR @ UTA

After getting a whoopin' by the Lakers, the Raptors find themselves hovering over .500, playing one of the worst teams in the league this year, the Utah Jazz.

Again, Vince didn't play much in this one, but he threw in the towel at the end of the first half. He complained about leg cramps. So Coach Wilkens didn't want anybody getting into injury problems, so he sit Carter for the rest of the game.

Not a problem at all. The Raptors win this one easily behind their rebounding king, Antonio Davis, who finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

                          Raptors win, 93-77

                          Utah STATS
