CHELSEA ADVANCES TO THE CUP FINAL!!!!
      Chelsea 2 - Everton 1

Chelsea overcame a 1-0 defecit to beat Everton 2-1 in the League Cup Semi-Finals today.

After starting off like gangbusters the last 2 matches, Chelsea found themselves in unfamiliar territory today. Marcell Jansen got physical with Everton's A johnson in the box and was called for a very suspect foul. Jansen appeared to just steal the ball from Johnson but was none-the-less called for the foul when Johnson stumbled and took a dive. Chelsea supporters erupted and screamed profanities at the ref when Mike Artera capitalized on the PK to give them the early 1-0 lead.

Chelsea would fight back and tie the game up on this Ballack goal off a delflected Drogba shot. Joe Cole placed a key pass into Drogba. Drogba controlled the ball wonderfully on the first touch and was able to blast a shot that Tim Howard deflected and Ballack banged home.

Tied up 1-1 , the 2nd half would see both teams struggle to mount any type of attack. With the score tied at the end of regulation Didier Drogba would get extra time started off right by scoring on this excellent effort in the 93rd minute off a Florent Malouda deflected lead pass.

The defense would stifle the Everton attack and Chelsea will advance to play..........

      BLACKBURN ROVERs.

Blackburn shocked Liverpool in the other semi-final match 2-1.

I've been meaning to check this out for a while now, very nice. Looks like you should have Champions League football for next season, I'm looking forward to it myself. Funny thing is I just blew out Birmingham 6-0 a game or two ago, must be a lot worse than their rating indicates... Good luck in the FA Cup Final!

            CHELSEA DRAWS WITH PORTSMOUTH
            Chelsea 3 - Portsmouth 3

Chelsea resumed their season play after a week long hiatus (360 problems) and the rust showed. Before you know it, Chelsea was down 2-0 thanks to 2 goals by John Utaka.

Chelsea would respond with a Shaun Wright-Phillips goal and then off a Joe Cole cross which Obi Mikel headed, and Drogba finished up.

Tied up at 2-2 newly aquired LB Marcell Jansen would make a run forward and intercept a wayward clearance. He would take a few dribbles to set up his deadly left foot, the result a 3-2 Chelsea lead

Things appeared to be heading towards Chelsea picking up 3pts but in the 84t minute Portsmouth scored the equalizer on a poor clearance by Carvalho and reserve FW Kanu put one in the top left corner of the net. A dissapointing tie, Chelsea still managed to pick up a needed point.

            Man of the Match-Utaka

            Scoring
            Utaka-'10 & '22

CHELSEA COMEBACK FALLS SHORT OF 3 POINTS
            Chelsea 3 - Newcastle U 3

Once again Chelsea found themselves down early. This time it was to the tune of 3-0 before the first half whistle. Michael Owen scored in the '16th, Martins outpaced Alex and banged one in at the 43 minute mark. Not to be outdone Geremi scored 2 mins later to send the Toon army into a frenzy.

After a serious toungue-lashing from Manager Strong, the Blues would go on an all-out attack in the 2nd half. Lamps would get the scoring started off a deflected Drogba shot in the 59th minute. Drogba would beat the keeper on his own 4 minutes later and Joe Cole would continue his stellar play scoring on the equalizer in the 75th minute.

Chelsea had several chances to outright win the game but their shots went a little high of the posts and they got their second straight tie.

            Man of the Match- Lampard

            Scoring
            '16-Owen

            '75-J.Cole

            CHELSEA HANDLES ASTON VILLA
            Chelsea 3 - Aston Villa 1

Chelsea needed no comeback for this one. Just a 47th minute blast by Samir Nasri to put this one out of reach.

Drogs got things popping with a goal in the 12th minute. J.Carew tied things up before Didier got his 2nd goal in the 40th minute.

Then due to Joe Cole's hustle and Nasri's awareness, the Blues were able to put this one away in the 47th for a much needed 3 points.

              Chelsea 1 - Reading 0

Probably the most boring match of the season. Once upon a time Reading was in 2nd place in the EPL. Now they are in 14th and straining their necks looking up at Chelsea. Suprisingly, Chelsea got off to a fast start for such a snoozer. Malouda put one in the net in the 8th minute and the defense played flawlessly to blank Reading.

Jermain "freaking" Jenas. This little speedy bastard basically destroyed my season. Not only did he score in the 1st half to put them up 1-0, he gave my backline fits with his runs on the wing. Florent Malouda would use his speed and acceleration to spark this run, capped by Joe Cole who finds the target to tie the game up.

Things looked like they were heading for a tie which would put Chelsea & Everton at even in the league for 4th place with the goal differential in favor of the Blues thanks mostly to that 8-0 smashing of Birmingham.

Then Jermaine Jenas started up again. On another run in extra time he got outmuscled and resulted in flopping. The home crowd was rewarded with a foul call 2 yards outside the box. The Chelsea players erupted but none bigger than Manager Strong who lept out of his chair and screamed obscenities.

Jenas took the free kick and hit this perfect strike to put the Spurs up 2-1.

Manager Strong lept up out of his chair for the 2nd time in a minute after realizing what the little bastard had done. Obscenities, flicking off, you name it, it happened. Jermaine has become target #1 for the Blues looking forward to next year. HE WILL GET DEALT WITH.

Chelsea will need to regroup in order to play composed ball in the FA Cup Final.

CHELSEA REGROUPS & TAKES HOME FA CUP TROPHY
                Chelsea 5 - Blackburn 3

After a heartbreaking loss at Tottenham, Chelsea came out extremely sluggish. Blackburn built a 3-0 lead by halftime and the Blues were visibly shaken. The Rovers offensive execution in the 1st half was textbook. Dunn scored in the 22nd, Santa Cruz 32, and B Hodge in the 44th.

In the locker room Coach Strong sat his guys down and gave them an ultimatum, "either you can go out there and continue to play like little girls, or you can man up and grow a sack, which is it?"

Frank Lampard and John Terry led the Blues out of the locker room and onto the pitch with a sense of urgency unseen this season. Didier Drogba finally got the blues onto the board in the 51st minute and the lead was cut to 3-1. 7 minutes later Blackburn would be scorched by a Joe Cole goal to make it 3-2. Blackburn was visibly tight and the Chelsea faithful were going hysterical. The Rovers defense would stiffen up for pretty much the remainder of the second half. With extra time being clocked at 3 minutes and the Blues down 3-2 Frank Lampard almost scored the equalizer on a low drive. On the ensuing corner, Frank found Michael Essien who had pushed his way into a favorable position for a header and he found the back of the net. 3-3 and the match was heading into OT.

The first OT went by quickly with neither team mounting much of an offensive attack. Things would change when Chelsea pushed forward with a strong sense of determination. Florent Malouda would put a timely pass onto Drogba's left foot and the Ivorian would convert and give Chelsea a 4-3 lead.

Drogba would add another goal 5 mins later and Peter Cech would block a PK to further rub it in. When the bell tolled there were 5 unanswered goals by Chelsea and several players raising the prized FA CUP

                  Re: Chelsea F.C. (FIFA 08)

Chelsea started off the year in rough fashion, a 5-3 lambasting from rivals Man U in the Community Shield. They regrouped to win their first 2 league matches but several early setbacks to Arsenal, Everton, & Liverpool pretty much doomed their fate. After what looked like an impending dismissal from the team due to poor performance, Mgr Strong rallied the troops and in mid-season they ran off an 11 game unbeaten streak to propel them from 15th to 5th. Chelsea fought until the last minute in the final league game for the coveted 4th place and a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

A quarterfinal dismissal from the Carling Cup due to Arsenal, Chelsea managed to take the FA Cup in a game that will live on in the hearts of true Blue's fans for years.

Chelsea Player of the Year- Didier Drogba.
Newcomer of the Year- Florent Malouda.
In-Season Aquisition of the Year-Marcell Jansen
(Somehow Nigel De Jong made it to the EPL - ALL 11 team despite playing in about 5 EPL matches, Nice Glitch EA)

                  Questions/Concerns going into 2008

                  1) Will the Blues faithful put up with another 5th place finish?-Doubtful but fans are optimistic about the direction the team is headed. They're getting younger and faster with scouts pulling in some talent and some great transfer pulls.

                  2) What personnel decisions will be made in the off-season? -

-Svenchenko is back from loan to Aston Villa with his contract expiring.
-Samir Nasri or Michael Ballack in the middle?
-Will Ashley Cole find a new home this time around?
-Is Shaun Wright-Phillips going to get enough PT to warrant a spot on the team?
-Has Peter Cech's reflexes slowed down enough to warrant Roman to look for a young impending replacement?
-Will Wayne Bridge & Juliano Belletti be asked back?

                  3) Will Chelsea continue to play an attacking style of football or will they morph into an Italian style flavor of play?

These are all questions that MUST be addressed.

                  Goal of the Year:

A no-brainer for me. Had to be Essien's equalizer in the FA Cup final.

LOL, Nani made it playing one game in my first year. That player effectiveness rating is so messed up, none of my players made it, even though Fabregas was probably the best player in my first year.

I just tend to ignore them now.

yeah it is messed up bigtime....Drogba should have been on there but at the end of the season it just pushed me forward to the next one w/o even letting me look at the stats. At least NCAA gives u an optin of whether or not to advance into the next yr.

Coming back from down 3-0? Thats awesome. Too bad the FA Cup isn't the tournament the fans wanted to win.

LOL, I know but it gives me a chance to play in the Community Shield and to salvage some of my season.

I really wanted to get in the UEFA Champions League but as you can see, Jermaine Jenas was not having it.

CHELSEA BESTS LIVERPOOL FOR THE COMMUNITY SHIELD
                            Chelsea 3 - Liverpool 1

Last year in this game against Man U, Chelsea surrendered 3 goals in the first half to Wayne Rooney. Today, against Liverpool Peter Chech stepped up and held them to 1 goal.

Peter Cech didn't do it all by himself though. Florent Malouda scored 1st for the Blues and assisted Joe Cole on the 1st of his 2 goals. Liverpool was able to score off a Jermaine Pennant deflection but this was the only offense they cold muster.

Man of the Match- Joe Cole/Peter Cech

                              TRANSFER NEWS

                              OUT

Adriy Shevchenko- SOLD to FC Karlsruher
Ashley Cole- SOLD to Aston Villa
                              Claudio Pizarro- SOLD to Portsmouth

                              THINKING ABOUT
Shaun Wright-Phillips- Manchester City offered 2 mil over his transfer fee for the speedster. He is one of my favorite players in real life but his lack of strength in this game puts him on the bench for the majority of games.

                              Any advice guys,

Should I sell or keep Wright-Phillips??????

                                I'd sell SWP.

You should get Silva from Valencia.
