If you do well in the Big 10 tournament and advance a few rounds, you could very well be looking at a ticket to the Big Dance. You probably need a few more wins, though, to make you eclipse that 20 game mark in wins.

Yeah I hear you, right now I am just happy that I managed a number two seed in the Big Ten tourney, except now I have to play Minnesota. A team that beat me twice during the year! Thanks for following.

Going 7-1 in the final games in the Big Ten, and getting the #2 seed in the conference tournament are no small feats for "Big Blue". I figure another win, which would be the 20th this season, will probably put you over the threshhold and get you an at large ticket to the Big Dance. But, go out and beat the Golden Gophers. They say that it is tough for a team to win three times in the same year against the same opponent.

                  Big 10 Game Preview
March 14 (Quarterfinal from the RCA Dome)
Michigan Wolverines(19-11) vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers(18-12)

Minnesota currently hold a 2-0 season record over the Wolverines
1st game-Jan. 21. Minnesota edged the Wolverines 70-68 on a last second FG.
2nd game-Feb. 21. Everyone that game was witness to a scoring outrage from Minnesota who seemingly did not miss a shot, beating the Wolverines 100-85
Will this game be the same outcome for the Golden Gophers, or will it be a case of third time the charm for the Wolverines?

Michigan Wolverines(19-11) vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers(18-12)

It is about time the Michigan Wolverines get the monkey off of their back! When it counted the most, the Wolverines biggest player stepped up and delivered at the highest level. Deshawn Sims scores 26 points as the Wolverines edge out the Golden Gophers 69-64. Michigan now survives and carries with them an impressive 20-11 record going into the semi-final match-up against the Buckeyes of Ohio State. Michigan now is 8-1 in its last 9 nine games.
%%%A quick history of what has happened between Michigan and the Buckeyes this year. The first game on Feb. 5 was a blowout by the Buckeyes 75-58, a game that was simply dominance. A different story however in the second game on Feb. 17 back at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, when the Wolverines defeated the Bucks 71-69 on a lay-up with 2 seconds left to go by Deshawn Sims. A game that seemed to start this resurgence by the Wolverines. Will this Semi-Final game be the last of the Big 10 Tournament for the Wolverines, or can the Wolverines continue to amaze?%%%

Michigan has second half rally but comes up just short, loses to the Bucks 65-61. With this loss Michigan will awaits what the future holds. Is finishing with a 20-12 record good enough to get the Wolverines an at-large bid into the NCAA tourney?

And the NCAA Tournament Committee has spoken.....

Michigan State(25-6) and Ohio State(24-9) are the only two Big Ten teams in the NCAA Tournament both #3 seeds in their respective regionals.

Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan will represent the Big Ten in the National Invitation Tournament(NIT)
Full NIT Tournament Bracket will posted in a bit. Keep tuned.
