    YEA, Da U beat Wake!

Seriously man, you've got to up Teague's ratings and put him in the starting lineup. The game has him seriously underrated.

Thanks man. I've really taken a fondness to this team. The're so young but talented at every position

I know man. I've gotten him up to a 75 now by training him and doing bonus drills every week. I put him into the starting lineup at FSU and he responded with 29 and the game-winner. He's deadly off the dribble and can hit the open 3 now. He pretty much plays all of crunch time at the PG cuz Ishmael is such a liability shooting ft's but together they are the quickest backcourt in the ACC and the keys to my full court press

That MD @ Wake game should be Wake Forest @ Georgia Tech. I don't know whats up with photobucket. It must be reading my old files.

Breaking down the 2008 ACC Tournament

#8 Georgia Tech vs # 9 Wake Forest
Regular Season Series: Tied at 1-1.

Both teams won on each others home floor so something has to give. Anthony Morrow who missed the last game will not play. He was huge in the first matchup. The Deacons will need to force turnovers ala Game 2.

Prediction: Wake Forest 92 - Georgia tech 78

            #5 UVA vs # 12 Boston College
Regular Season Series: Tied at 1-1

One of BC's 2 ACC wins came in Charlottesville. The key matchup will be Tyrese Rice on Sean Singletary. Each will get their points but who will step up to provide support?

            Prediction: UVA 72 - BC 63

#6 NC State vs #11 Va Tech
Regular Season Series: NC ST 1-0

NC State was solid all year and should be a tournament team. Playing a Va Tech team who was without D.Washington all year with a broken foot should help pad their resume. Look for the Wolfpack to advance.

Prediction: NC State 67 - Va Tech 52

            #7 Duke vs #10 MD
            Regular Season Series: 1-1

Duke handed MD a 15 point loss in College Park. The Terps responded with a 16 pt win in Cameron. Something has to give with these two. Duke plays a really small line-up which the Terps should be able to exploit.

            Prediction: MD 87 - Duke 82

                            Examining the Schedule

OOC- Games @ Indiana, Alabama, Penn, @ West Va all in a row could be a real test for this young team. The Penn game is a must win and going 2-2 should be a realistic goal. Outside of that the Deacons should rack up some W's heading into conference play. Their RPI will most likely be pretty low with teams like that on the schedule but a good W-L% would help their chances in March. (Yeah I know it's early but still =.)

ACC Play- Wake gets Miami, Clemson, Georgia Tech & FSU twice this year. All those teams lost key players to graduation so I like my teams chances at winning at least 5 out of 8. Trips to Duke & UNC the last day highlight the ACC schedule.

                            Prediction:

                            20-10 Overall
                            10-6 ACC Play, 4th place
                            NCAA Tournament Bound
                            7th seed

2008-2009 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Basketball Preview

Wake Forest Demon Deacons - ACC
                                2007-08: 13-14, 8-8, 8th (t)
                                2007-08 postseason: none
Wake Forest really struggled early on in the season due to their youth. They started 4 Sophmores & 1 Freshman and took their lumps early. A mid-season lineup change added another freshman to the lineup, Jeff Teague. Jeff brought more speed and relieved some of the pressure on Ishmael Smith. The highlight of the year came when the Dec's defeated #2 Clemson in Littlejohn Collesium. The Deacons finished the year with a .500 record in conference but were ousted in the 2nd round of the ACC Torney by #2 seed Clemson.

                                Wake Forest
                                .
Wake Forest enjoyed the best recruiting class of any team in the ACC. They brought in the nation's #1 SF in Al-Farouq Aminu and a pair of 5* Centers in Ty Walker & Tony Woods. Al-Farouq has already been declared a starter from Day 1. He has the unique blend of athleticism and skills to make Wake a dangerous team. Ty Walker will most likely redshirt due to the fact that he is only 215lbs. Tony Woods will provide the Deacons with a shot-blocker down low and a young mobile body that can get up and down the court. There is a lot to be excited for this year.

                                Who to Watch:
                                .

James Johnson won last year's ACC Freshman of the Year and suprisingly no one is talking about him. He led Wake in pts & rebs and started every game as a true freshman, something the great Tim Duncan didn't even accomplish. With more talent around him his #'s might dip (14pts 6rebs) but he should be every bit as successful. After being inserted in the starting line-up Jeff teague the Deac's were 6-3 and Teague averaged 14.1 pts per game. His pts might dip but his assists should go up as he is Wake's best guard off the bounce. Yes, he's a freshman but Aminu has the town in a buzz. He might be Wake's biggest recruit since Rodney Rogers. Life in the ACC is always tough for freshman but this kid should be able to really give the Deacons that 3rd scoring option.

                                Projected Starting Five:
                                • Ishmael Smith, Junior, Guard, 6.8pts - 3.1 asts
                                • Jeff Teague, Sophmore, Guard, 7.8pts - 2.8 asts - 1.3 stls
                                • Al-Farouq Aminu, Freshman, G/F,
                                • James Johnson, Sophmore, Forward 14.2pts - 6.5 rebs
                                • Jamie Skeen, Junior, Forward, 8.4 pts - 3.6 rebs - 1.4 stls
