Game 2 of 82
San Antonio Spurs (0-1) @ Memphis Grizzlies (0-0)
Memphis, TN - The Memphis Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs played a nice tight game, but the San Antonio Spurs came out on the losing end of the bargain in the end, as the Memphis Grizzlies led by Mike Miller outscored the Spurs 109-100 in a rather tight game. The loss sends the Spurs to a painful 0-2 start to the season while the Grizzlies improve to 1-0 as this was their first game of the season for them.
The Spurs had a lot of trouble shooting in this game. San Antonio only shot 38% in the game and only made 8 of 28 shots from beyond the arc. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, hot 48% in the game. Spurs coach Greg Popovich was disappointed about how his team took too many three point shots in the game. "We need to get the ball down to Timmy [Duncan] more and not shoot so many threes," he said. "Timmy is our best player and has 4 championship rings, 2 NBA MVPs, and 3 NBA Finals MVPs, so I think we can rely on him."
The Grizzlies were led by shooting guard Mike Miller, who scored 27 points in the game, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 9 assists. Rudy Gay also scored 22 for the Grizzlies in the winning effort. Manu Ginobili scored 21 points for the Spurs, but only made 8 of 21 shots. Tim Duncan scored 19 and Tony Parker tacked in 15 points, but only made 6 of 23 shot attempts. Damon Stoudamire stepped up in the game, scoring 12 points for the Spurs coming off the bench.

Game 3 of 82
Sacramento Kings (1-0) @ San Antonio Spurs (0-2)
San Antonio, TX - It would take 3 overtimes for the Spurs to get the job done, but end the end, they came away with their first win of the season at home against the Sacramento Kings. The Spurs would be behind most of regulation, but a huge run with 2 minutes remaining would get them back in the game. A Tony Parker shot was missed at the end of regulation as the Spurs were going to overtime.
The first overtime was very close as neither team gained an advantage in the 5 minutes of play. The score was knotted at the end of the first overtime as well. The Spurs jumped out early in the second overtime before the Kings came back and tied the game again as there would be a third overtime. In the third overtime, the Spurs dominated, as they would walk away with a 7 point margin of victory in the game.
The Spurs won the game 155-148, with both teams combining for a stunning 303 points in the thriller. The game was tied at 105 at the end of regulation as a combined 93 points were scored in the 3 overtimes of 5 minutes each, equating to 15 minutes of action, or a little more than a quarter of play.
Tony Parker dominated the game for the Spurs as he scored 35 points, dished out 9 assists, and stole the ball a stunning 7 times in the game. Michael Finley and Tim Duncan both had 25 points while Manu Ginobili ended with 22 points.
For the Kings, Kevin Martin dominated scoring 36 points of the Kings in the losing effort. Ron Artest scored 32. Center Brad Miller chipped in an additional 22 points and Beno Udrih, the former Spur, scored 22 points, but dished out a stunning 20 assists, for a 20-20 game.
The win gives the Spurs their first win of the year and will hopefully propel them on a run here as they have had a shaky start thus far this year. The win sends them to 1-2.

Re: NBA Scores
Since I'm an "old fart" here at the site, I remember the old run-and-gun Spurs with the great George "Iceman" Gervin in the "Showtime '80s". I think that Artis Gilmore was on that team too. Then in the '90s it was "The Admiral" leading the Spurs before Tim Duncan came aboard.
San Antonio looks well stocked for the postseason. Good luck with getting them there and then deep into the postseason. If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.Comment

Game 4 of 82
San Antonio Spurs (1-2) @ Houston Rockets (3-1)
Houston, TX - The San Antonio Spurs thoroughly dominated the Houston Rockets in this one as the Spurs held the lead throughout the game, and ended with a fine 23 point victory. The Rockets led 28-24 at the end of the first quarter, but would never lead again as the Spurs would pull away and go on to win by a score of 116-93.
The Spurs played a fine defensive game, holding the Rockets to 43% shooting and holding star forward Tracy McGrady to just 6 points in the game. Bruce Bowen was given the assignment on McGrady and he did what he does best, which is defend with authority. Yao Ming was held to just 10 points in the game, as well, as Kurt Thomas did a good job defending him. Steve Francis and Rafael Alston led the Rockets in scoring, as both ended the game with 15 points.
The Spurs were led by a balanced attack as 5 players got in double figures for the game. Manu Ginobili led the way with 21 points. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker both recorded double-doubles in the game. Duncan recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds while Parker tallied 15 points and 11 assists in the game. Robert Horry and Michael Finley were the other Spurs in double figures as Horry came out of nowhere to have a 13 point game in just 11 minutes on the court while Finley tallied 10 points.
