Rough start man. I have a feeling you'll have things turned around by the time conference play gets rolling. Have you checked to see how your old squad is doing so far and if any of your recruits left when you did?

Re: Kyle Borland Coaching Legacy (CH2K8)
funny you ask because EIU is currently 5-0... they got a sick recruiting class mostly because they were guys I recruited...
but I'm happy where I am now... I was sick of getting 20-win seasons and getting jipped out of the NCAA tourneyKB's All-CAW Universe

KSU wins
Flashes upset St. Joseph's
Kent State Basketball News
Kent State looked solid in their 3rd straight road contest, holding off a furious St. Joseph's rally to win 60-57. The teams traded the lead throughout the 1st half and were tied at the halftime break, but it was all Kent State through the first part of the 2nd half. Coach Borland's halftime adjustments worked well, as the Golden Flashes turned a close battle into a 13-point lead in only 6 minutes and led 50-40 with only 8 minutes to go.
It was then St. Joseph's turn to make a run as they closed in on Kent State but could not tie or take the lead. Late free throws by the Flashes sealed the win.
Final Score:
Kent State, 60
St. Joseph's, 57
Kent State Top Performers:
E.J. Dukes, PF --- 16 pts, 7 rebs, 2 blks, 7/9 FG
Deon Diggs, SF --- 4 pts, 10 rebs, 5 asts

Re: Kyle Borland Coaching Legacy (CH2K8)
It will be interesting to see how they finish the season and how their recruiting goes over the next couple of seasons without you there. Did you happen to see who took over the head coaching job after you left? I always like to look over the coaching changes and sort of keep tabs on a few of them from year to year whenever I sim or play a legacy.Comment

Re: Kyle Borland Coaching Legacy (CH2K8)
The guy who took over is Ken Schifino, a former assistant at some small school, I can't remember the name. He seems to be doing pretty well considering I stacked his roster for him lol...
thanks superjames, always happy when you comment... Hey man I really love your colonials dynasty it's always the first one I read! I wish I would have started my created team thread back then, now I'm in season 11 it'd be useless to start it up.KB's All-CAW Universe

Flashes break losing streak at home in overtime thriller
Kent State Basketball News
Freshman PF E.J. Dukes posted his 2nd-straight double-double and fellow big man sophomore C Chad Lang chipped in 18 points as the Golden Flashes rallied from 10 down to win 60-59 in overtime over visiting Drexel.
Kent State was down 50-40 with only 7 minutes left, but Coach Borland's substitutions were planned out perfectly, allowing him to put out a rested starting lineup for the final run. The Flashes were sparked by Lang on offense, who scored 8 of the Flashes' final 14 points in regulation, and Dukes on defense, who grabbed 3 clutch rebounds and blocked a crucial shot that would have won the game for Drexel.
In overtime, the back-and-forth battle ended in thrilling fashion, as Dukes completed his double-double with the game-winning jumper in the lane at the buzzer.
Final Score (OT):
Kent State, 60
Drexel, 59
Kent State Top Performers:

Coach Borland, following the win: "We've been struggling so far this season, but with wins like these I know myself, the coaching staff, the fans and even the players themselves are starting to feel the momentum shifting. Winning these close games is a huge boost to morale. More wins! I feel we are starting to head in the right direction!"
The home stand is a short one, as the Flashes hit the road once again for two more tough battles. The first one is a tough matchup against George Washington before meeting up with Butler. GW made the NCAA Tournament as a #7 seed last season and made the 2nd round before losing to #2 seed Villanova.

KSU wins MAC opener
Freshman lead Flashes to MAC win #1
Kent State Basketball News
In Kent State's first MAC game under new head coach Kyle Borland, it was not the experienced juniors and seniors leading the charge. Instead, it was the excellent play of stud freshmen PF E.J. Dukes and SG L.L. Wong that boosted the Flashes to their 1st conference win, a 93-80 beatdown of Northern Illinois.
Dukes continued his impressive freshman campaign with 16 points and 6 rebounds, including shooting an amazing 7 of 8 from the field. Wong, who's had a cold hand recently, picked up from where his season began and dropped 14 points on the Huskies, including a perfect 2 of 2 from beyond the arc. Wong also displayed an unselfish side, dishing out 5 assists.
"I'm really proud of these young men," Coach Borland stated following the win. "Dukes and Wong have shown amazing poise for freshman and have really come through for us when we needed it. Dukes has been more consistent, but when Wong's hot, he's arguably the best player on the court. I expect a lot from them the rest of the season, but I'm really looking forward to getting better play from the more seasoned player, especially Deon Diggs. He's been a defensive force so far, but I really want him to utilize his size on the offensive end."
Final Score:
Kent State, 93
Northern Illinois, 80
Kent State Top Performers:
E.J. Dukes, PF --- 16 pts, 6 rebs, 3 asts, 2 blks, 7/8 FG
L.L. Wong, SG --- 14 pts, 5 asts, 2/2 3PT
Dukes, Wong, Diggs and the rest of the Golden Flashes hit the road for their 2nd MAC contest, taking on the Redhawks of Miami (OH).
