    Arizona Wildcats (NCAA 2009)

    Arizona Wildcats Official Website

    Reasons to be Arizona
    • The Pac-10 has a great setup with 10 teams who all play each other during the season. No rotating schedules so rivalries are played every year.
    • They have a great stadium and uniforms. Their cardinal red uniform will be great for rivalries and bowl games.
    • They have some talent on their roster and their spread offense looks to be very fun. They have 3-star prestige to start so building them should be challenging & rewarding.

    Dynasty Settings
    • Heisman Level
    • 7 minute quarters
    • Ice The Kicker, QB Quiz, and HFA are all ON
    • Named rosters with Arizona's team edited to reflect the stats last year.

    Gameplay Sliders
Fistofrage's Heisman Sliders with slight variation
    (HUM/CPU)
    • Offense
    • QB Accuracy - 45/45
    • Pass Blocking - 0/0
    • WR Catching - 0/0
    • RB Ability - 50/55
    • Run Blocking - 25/100
    • Defense
    • Awareness - 55/80
    • Knockdowns - 100/90
    • Interceptions - 0/0
    • Break Block - 100/100
    • Tackle - 30/30
    • Special Teams
    • FG Length - 20/0
    • FG Accuracy - 0/0
    • Punt Power - 0/0
    • Punt Accuracy - 50/50
    • Kickoff Power - 55/55

    House Rules
    • On kick returns the sprint button will not be used until the 25 yard line has been crossed.
    • On punt block attempts there will be no punt return. A fair catch has to be called if the ball is caught.
    • The only states allowed to be recruited: Arizona, California, Texas, Colorado, and Hawai'i.
    • JUCO players will not be recruited/signed.
    • Red Jerseys will be worn for the following games: Home Opener, Home vs. Arizona St. (Rivalry Game), and Home team in bowl game.

I used a house rule to make recruiting harder last year, and thought I would share to see what you thought, since your dynasties are always interesting. I want to be an academic coach, meaning that they guys on my team need to have good grades, and want to stay for 4 years. Anyone that you recruit would need to have an interest in academics, and have it be important to them or be able to be swayed that way. Anyone who doesnt would be immediately disqualified. Sure it will keep you from getting a lot of really good guys, but it also kind of adds a sort of realistic "you must be able to get into this college" type of feel.

To me, it make sure you don't get too good too quick, but also makes you work to groom the players that you do bring on..

I dunno, works for me, may not be for everyone.

That is definitely taking it to the next level of difficulty!

Personally that is not for me. I also have one other house rule I need to update...I do not recruit/sign JUCO players or accept transfers.

I'm hoping that limiting the states I recruit will make it very challenging to get good players. My big states, California and Texas, have some guys interested in me but the competition for them is fierce.

It's tough to see that stud recruit interested in you is from a state outside of your pipeline states!

Dominating 1st game, but that was expected. I'd say you held Idaho's QB in check lol. Love the layout as well.

Also... what program do you use to make your game recaps?

Yea but as you said...it was expected. They were just terrible! Their best play was a QB run up the middle on a broken play haha. He got like 40 yards.

I use Fireworks to make the recaps. It's a poor man's version of Photoshop. I downloaded PS and have that too but I have no idea how to use it...way too hard!

Well the first game in was very fun. My defense was awesome and it was great to shut down the opposing QB. Hopefully Toledo puts up a fight in game two...at least for a little while.

I've tweaked the special teams sliders slightly. KPW is down and KICK ACC is up a little.

Oh, and a vid from the Idaho game:

                              In-season Recruiting Update
I have signed my first recruit, 3-star CB Melvin Key. With only four returning corners next year I need to add some depth at the position badly. Hopefully I can reel in another CB as well.
