*The Crosby Effect* A Penguins Dynasty 2.5

Since the other one was getting out of hand (30ish pages with no pre-season game what so ever) i've decided to make the new thread.

Re: *The Crosby Effect* A Penguins Dynasty 2.5

The Penguins Have Just Announced The Captains For the 08/09 Season.

    Captain: Sidney Crosby

Last year Crosby probably would have been the Art Ross winner instead of Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin, only thing that stopped him, a high sprained ankle. Even so Crosby returned and led the Penguins all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals against the highly favoured Detroit Red Wings. Even though the Penguins lost, Crosby did something most people thought would not happen, a group of young kids with 1 or 2 veterans went all the way to the Cup finals. Of course last year Crosby has wingers like Marian Hossa and Ryan Malone, but now with wingers like Miroslav Satan, well hopefully Crosby can lead his team back to the Cup.

    Assistant Captain: Sergei Gonchar

Sergei Gonchar showed last year that he wasn't just the best defencemen in Pittsburgh, but one of the best defencemen in the league. gonchar came close to leading all defencemen in points, only behind to Red Wings Captain Nicklas Lidstrom. Sergei Gonchar has helped the Penguins with the defensive portion of the team ever since he came in 2005. Gonchar had his third highest point total in his 14 year career. If you ask me, he deserves this role more than anyone else.

    Alternate Captain: Evgeni Malkin

What's too say about "Geno" Malkin except that he already is this role. Last year he did a tremendous job to lead the Penguins to many wins. Sidney Crosby relied on Malkin when he went out with a high ankle sprain. Malkin took Crosby's play for the 2008 All-Star game in Atlanta, Georgia. Malkin racked up 2 assists there. Later he finished the season with 106 points.

An Interview With Forward Tyler Kennedy

Reporters: We're here with Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy, Tyler, how's training camp so far?

Tyler Kennedy: It's very hard, it's lots of guys with lots of skill all competing for a roster spot, it's hard.

Reporters: Well there aren't many people left so there is a big chance that you make the team, and plus your to play the first pre-season game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tyler Kennedy: I think I can do it, Jason Skyland is our new GM and he says he's interested in me on the big team, so I can say that I can agree with you there.

Reporters: How do you think the Penguins will do?

Tyler Kennedy: Well, it was a good year last year, but we lost a lot of guys like Hossa, Malone and Roberts, but still we were able to get guys like Miro and Ruslan, so I think we could do pretty good.

Reporters: Thank you for your time Tyler.

        Tyler Kennedy: No problem

Reporters: We were just here with Tyler Kennedy of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Jason Skyland and Mario Lemieux have just announced the final roster of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"It was a long and hard decision that Michel Therrien, the head coach, and I had to choose from" said Skyland at the press confrence. "Here is the list of the 24 players who will play against the Ottawa Senators on the Globen Arena in Stockholm, Sweden" former Penguins Legend Mario Lemieux announced.

Penguins GM Skyland Expects Satan And Fedotenko Out By End Of October

Miroslav Satan during his days as Captain of the Buffalo Sabres

Miroslav Satan and Ruslan Fedetenko were acquired by the Penguins when Ray Shero was the GM, but Skyland is head boss now, and he has....well other plans. "Not that I have anything against Miro or Ruslan, but I'm looking for players even better, than can take any puck from a pass by Sid or Geno, and put it directly in the net 10 out of 10" Skyland said.

                Possibilities from Skyland Himself

Alexander Semin from the Washington Capitals

Teemu Selanne from the Anaheim Ducks

Paul Kariya from the St.Louis Blues

Ales Hemsky from the Edmonton Oilers

Ruslan Fedotenko during his Cup run with Tampa Bay in 2004

Yeah Satan and Fedotenko are bums.

Kariya is so damn fast and would be a great addition although all those guys are good choices.

I'm kind of not want Semin because if I trade a valuable player, he'd be on RIVAL Caps, so i'd have to deal with losing to a guy who could have been mine all this time so

Brodeur Gets New Mask For New Season

Devils Legendary Goaltender Martin Brodeur takes a new look into his possible record breaking season. Instead of the Devils logo in the front of the mask, he has a larger B, for Brodeur, in Devils form.

"When I found out he made his new mask when I read it in the paper, I laughed so hard that I almost chocked on my cereal, to think that the Pittsburgh reporters have nothing to cover to report something on a rival teams goalie's mask" added Skyland on when he read about Brodeur's mask.
