"Alright boys, listen up.... we're playing the Sens in a few minutes, and they can be a very dangerous team, and they can be a very sloppy team. Get out there and work hard, try and get as many shots as possible on net. Their goalies aren't that good, so take advantage of it. We need to play a physical, up-tempo style game; defenseman, you better watch out for Dany Heatley, and shut him down, because he can pick us apart. Sid, and Geno, encourage your teammates to backcheck and help out the D, because this may be a tough game. You guys are capable of destroying the Sens, especially if they are playing sloppy. Don't let them get an advantage on us, try and get an early lead, and build on it. Remember, keep your heads up, and play smart.... NOW LET'S PLAY SOME HOCKEY!!!!"

POST-GAME COACHES WORD
Good game boys, although we lost, I was very impressed with how we played, in a game as tense as this. Don't get down on yourselves, it's only the 1st game and you stayed with them and at some points even outplayed them. It was a tough loss, but we can only learn from experience, that we have to jump on teams like this right off the bat, and build leads. Alright, hit the showers, and no practice tomorrow.

"Guys, we lost a tough game to the Sens in our opener, and we're playing them again. I want us to attack them right off the opening face-off. We need to grab the lead early, play smart defensivley, and keep getting pucks on net. Agressive forechecking , and aggressive backcheck from everybody is key, in order to really take it to these damn Senators. We're strong in net, and like I've told you before, stand up for your teammates and goalie, drop the gloves if its necessary. GET OUT THERE AND DOMINATE THOSE ******* SENATORS!!!!!"

You let the Sens just walk right around you and allowed quality scoring chances, and we lost!!! You NEED to play aggressively, backcheck hard, and keep the puck in their zone. We're freakin' 0-2 now, with both losses to the SENATORS!!! Practice, 4:00 a.m., tomorrow morning. Get to the rink on-time, because you all have a lot to learn......"

Hopefully you all learned something from the triple-practice session, and will apply it on the ice. Play smart, focus on your game, and remember, just because your playing against one of the best goalies in NHL history in Marty Brodeur, doesn't mean you can't pick him apart.
