    ******A Phoenix Coyotes Dynasty******

PHOENIX, AZ- After careful deliberation, there was a new staff in town. The Coyotes would be led this year by new GM Bill Board, a former NHL player. A press conference accompanied the announcement. The GM had this to say, "The team is headed in the right direction. Some moves will be made before the official start of the season. Possably one big move for sure and some othe trades to help out our farm system and our future."

PHOENIX, AZ- Within just two days of the change in the front office, the Coyotes have already made a potentially season changing move, trading S.Reinprecht and a 2nd round pick to the New Jersey Devils for the offensively talented Patrick Elias. According to analysts, the Yotes needed more fire power out of there wingers. Word around the Yotes camp is that more moves will be made. When, where and whom have been disclosed.

Elias had this to say in an interview afte the trade had been announced, "Im sad to leave New Jersey as thats been my home since coming into the league, but I guess its time for a new chapter in my life and im excited to be with the young Phoenix club. This team has a really bright future and im hoping to be a part of a cup winning team here."

Reinprecht had this to say, "Im excited! Im moving to a powerhouse team in the Devils thats ready to win this year. I wish Phoenix good luck this season."

After the new GM Board made this trade, he went out and made another. He has traded defenseman Kurt Sauer to Edmonton for fellow defenseman Theo Peckham.

Board had this to say about the acquisition of Theo Peckham,
"The guy is a defensive beast, offensively isn't there as of yet. You can pretty much teach offense to any player, you can't teach a player to be a mean son of a bitch."

    10/03
Board has struck again! This time 2 seperate trades. Phoenix has traded defenseman Fata and Hale to Detroit for J.Kindl AND has traded Centers Wyatt Smith, Yanick Lehoux, Niko Kapanen to Boston for Wacey Rabbitt and Vladimir Sobotka.

Board said this, "As for the trade for Jakub Kindl, well whats not to say? This kid is on track to be the future top line defenseman and a star in this league for quite some time. Both of these trades are for the future of this organization. All three of the players we have acquired have star potential and I like star potential as does every other GM and team in this league. I just had the brains to go out and make this trade."

ESPN analyst Barry Melrose on these recent comments from the Coyotes GM Bill Board, "Well I like how he does business. He looks out for the future of this organization as well as the future. Very few GM's dont look at the future but rather the present. As far as his comments at the end of his statement, well we will just have to see how the other GM's react to these words. Some may take it as an insult, others a challenege."

    10/11
BREAKING NEWS!!! The Coyotes have claimed Goalie Craig Anderson off of waivers from the Florida Panthers.

Assistant GM Tommy Jackson had this to say, "We have claimed goaltender Craig Anderson off waivers from the Florida Panthers. Anderson will serve as Al Montoyas back-up down in the minors for right now and Craig has stated to us he is ok with this. This is strickly a move to help solitify our goaltending situation on all levels."

After the 1st month of the season, these are the standings for the Western Conferance:

        1. Anaheim Ducks: 9-3-0 18 Pts
        2. Chicago Blackhawks: 8-2-0 16 Pts
        3. Colorado Avalanche: 7-3-0 14 Pts
        4. Detroit Red Wings: 7-4-0 14 Pts
        5. Calgary Flames: 5-2-3 13 Pts
        6. Columbus Blue Jackets: 6-4-0 12 Pts
        7. Dallas Stars: 5-4-2 12 Pts
        8. Phoenix Coyotes: 5-2-1 11 Pts
        -----------------------------------------
        9. Edmonton Oilers: 5-3-1 11 Pts
        10. Los Angeles Kings: 5-3-1 11 Pts
        11. Nashville Predators: 4-3-3 11 Pts
        12. Minnesota Wild: 4-3-2 10 Pts

Although they're in last place in the Western Conferance, the Coyotes have played some spectacular hockey. They have had some tough losses thus far; losing once in OT and twice by one goal.

GM Board has said this, "I have faith in this team! We are not a bad team, just have had some bad losses along the way so far. We need to get the offense going right now. They had shown some great potential in the first month. The line-up will remain the same. Goaltending the same. They just need to believe in one another and learn where their line mates are going to be on the ice. This is a very young team. Some new faces on this team. They just have to get used to each other."

Stay tuned people, this team will be one to watch for this season!!!

          GAA: Ilya Bryzgalov (1.65)

GM B.Board wasnt available to speak to the press, however assistant GM T.Jackson has said this. "We're in 4th place. Whats not to like about that? Sure, we would love to be in 1st place right now, but Detroit is a great team and on a roll right now. We just have to stick to what we're doing beacause its working. Jokinen deserves to be MVP of the league. His play this year is one for the ages. If he doesn't win MVP this year, thats a damn shame and both he and this organization will make sure it happens next year. Ilya has just plain and simply been a workhorse. He has played in every game and has only a 1.65 GAA. I don't know why he has played every single game and we wil discuss that with the coaches. However, this is working so maybe we'll wait 'til after the season concludes to do so."

Assistant GM T.Jackson had this to say, "We did it! We did it! We went from one of the worst teams last season to the top of the West in one season. This feeling is great, and hope to replace this feeling with the feeling of winning the Stanley Cup."

Olli Jokinen had this to say earlier today in an interview with ESPN analyst Barry Melrose. "When I was traded here from Florida, I just thought I was going from one bad team to another. I was pretty down. But this season has been the best of my career so far. I give the GM's and ownership of the organization all the credit in the world right now. They took a very young and growing team and in really one season, we are the top of the West and in the playoffs. Im so excited right now."

Left Winger Patrick Elias had this to say to Matthew Barnaby, "When I was traded to Phoenix, I knew we had a good young team and that it would take at least two years to grow and gel into a top flight team. I was exicted to be appart of this team for the future. But noone expected this to happen this fast. I love these guys."

Excited about this sudden and unexpected rise to the top, the Phoenix Coyotes are indeed on the top of the world right now. However, they face the ever so dangerous Edmonton Oilers and goaltender Dwayne Roloson who is a playoff wonder as of the past few years. Lets see how the young and talented Coyotes handle the young but experienced Oiler team as Dwayne Roloson looks to work his playoff magic once again this year! Stay tuned folks, this series is going to be a duzzie!

                  2008-2009 NHL Playoffs

1st round: Phoenix Coyotes vs Edmonton Oilers

Game 1 (4/14/09): The Phoenix Coyotes have had a miracle season thus far, but are they ready for the big leagues? Well, for right now the answer is no. The Coyotes fall to Edmonton 4-2. Jake Nichols asked Olli Jokinen how he felt after this tough loss. "We just played a bad game. We turned the puck over WAY too much. We can't do that if we want to go far in the playoffs."

Game 2 (4/16/09): With the disappointing loss in game one would the Yotes bounce back in game two? Well, not exactly. They lose a close one at home 3-2. "We need to get this team going again. If we don't we will be going home for a long summer." - LW, Patrick Elias

Game 3 (4/18/09): With the Oilers up 2-0 in the series, the Yotes need to get things going. However, this night was not the night. They lose yet another close one, this time in OT 2-1. Frustrated at the teams play, Ed Jovanovski had this statement after the game. "We need a new leader in here or something.Ours hasnt been there for us lately! There has been no communication or motivating speeches for the team like a captain, a leader; is suppose to bring to the table or else we're going home. Simple as that!" Hearing this the press headed quickly over to ask Olli Jokinen(the captain) about the comments teammate Ed Jovanovski said. He had no comment. With bickering going on in the locker room, how will this effect the chemistry and the attitudes of the players and their relationship with each other?

Game 4 (4/20/09): Before the game, GM Bill Board said this, "Ed's comments calling Ollis leadership and captaincy into question was just out of pure emotion. Ed was frustrated about losing and being down in the series 3-0. Thats it." Well would those comments from defenseman Ed Jovanovski motivate Olli and his play or just distract him? Well, lets just put it like this. Olli Jokinen responded with 2 goals and 1 assist. Ed Jovanovski added 2 assists. Looks like those comment sparked a fire under Jokinen. Lets just hope for the Coyotes sake, that fire burns until they win it all or there may be some issues down the road. As for Jokinen and a response to those comments; he said this, "Ed and myself will discuss this on our time and not through the media! As for the game, we played exceptionally well for a team down 3-0 with our backs against the wall. We WILL NOT lose this series!" WOW, strong words from the captain Olli Jokinen. Lets just hope he can back that comment up.

Stay tuned folks for the rest of this series as Jokinens recent comments may lite a fire for Edmonton and potentionally end the season of the young Coyotes team.

                    Re: ******A Phoenix Coyotes Dynasty******

Game 5 (4/22/09): In the 2nd period Mikkal Boedker scored on a potentionally controversial goal. As his teammate Daniel Carcillo was in the corner, Carcillo passed the puck to Boedker in fron of the net. Boedker was actually fully in the crease when he scored. Some may say he was interfering with Dwayne Roloson, other may not. Roloson had this to say about the goal, "That no call was ridiculous. Just plain bad. He was clearly in the cease. As the puck came in front, I tried to push my way over to the right but Bodker was there. I couldn't do anything about it." In the third period, Ilya Bryzgalov made a miracle of a save. As the pass came across the fron of the net to the right side, Bryzgalov wen down. While he was down on his behind, the Oiler player tried to go up top but couldn't egt the puck off the ice. Ilya made an amazing toe save. Our reporters talked to Olli Jokinen about his teammate Ed Jovanovski's comments about his leadership and had this to say. "We talked it over. We're all good now. He was just frustrated with our losing the first three games. Thats it. I understood what he was saying." Mikkel Bodker had 2 goals, Patrick Elias had 1 goal and Olli Jokinen had 1 assist. Th Coyotes won 3-0

Game 6 (4/24/09): With the Jovanovski and Jokinen "tiff" behind them the Coyotes looked to even the series at 3-3. Mikkel Boedker scored the first goal for the Yotes. The score was 1-1 into the third period. When Shane Doan scored the go-ahead goal with 46.2 left in the game. Olli Jokinen added an EN goal to ice the game. The Coyotes even the series at 3-3 with a 3-1 victory in game 6. Mikkel Boedker on his play as of tonights game, "It feels great to contribute this much ths early in my career. I really fel like a part of this team. It feels great to even the seris for one more game at home." Ilya Bryzgalov made 20 saves tonight. He shared his thoughts on todays game with our Nicole Search. "Tonight was a rough game. It was so close late into the game, but as a goalie I love these kinds of games. All three of our goals cam in the third. I just had to make sure none of their shots got pased me and thats my job."

Game 7 (4/26/09): "The score is 1-1 in the 2nd. the Oilers have just scored. Heres the face-off. Jokinen wins the faceoff, loses the puck. Derek Morris takes the loose puck across the blue line and fires it... HE SCORES. Derek Morris has just tied the game 8 seconds after the Oilers tied it. WOW what a turn of events that is. Just when the Oilers thought they had momentum going their way, the veteran Derek Morris says no way." - Replay of the game from ESPN. Yes, thats right. Derek Morris and the Phoenix Coyotes take back the lead just 8 seconds after the Oilers tied it. Here is another highlight from tonights Coyotes/Oilers game 7. "Olli Jokinen skates across the center on the rink, get across the blue line and shoots. Roloson stops the puck and is going to stop action. Jokinen skates up to Roloson and harmlessly poke checks at it. WAIT! OMG! Olli Jokinen has just poke checked the puck passed Oiler goaltender Dwayne Roloson. WOW! JUST WOW! Roloson has to take better control of the puck then that. To add insult to injury, Shane Doan scores on a empty netter to make the final 5-2. Doan, Jokinen and Elias all had 1 goal and 1 assist. The young Coyotes team has just came back from a 3-0 series deficeit to beat the Edmonton Oilers.

Olli Jokinen is at the podium now. {Reporter} Olli, tell me how you scored your goal?. "Well I just shot it in from the blue line trying to go top shelf and he stopped it. I Went in to try and poke check it before the whistle blew like we all do and I guess he didn't have it covered as well as he thought he did." {Reporter} Also, can you tell us how your relationship is now with Ed Jovanovski? "It's perfect. He was just angry at our situation losing the first three games. It actually motivated me on the ice."

It sure did motivate Jokinen. After those comments from Ed Jovanovski, Jokinen went on a tear. With 4 goals and 3 assists in the remaining four games, after Jokinen had just 1 goal in the first three games.

Here are your Phoenix Coyotes stats for the first round of the playoffs
                    Mikkel Boedker: 3G, 2A, +3

Phoenix Coyotes vs San Jose Sharks

Game 1 (4/28/09): With hte winning streak the Coyotes team is on, would they be able to keep it going against a tough and gritty Sharks team? In game 1 they did. They beat the Sharks 3-0. Shane Doan had yet another EN goal. Daniel Carcillo added 2 goals, Elias/Mueller 1 goal each, Michalek/Morris 1 assist each and Tellqvist and a 12 save SO. "It feels good to finally get some PT. Ilya has played amazing all season long. I guess they decided to give a long over due rest." - Tellqvist on his PT.

After the game, Phoenix sent down defenseman Bryan Helmer and called up defenseman Jakub Kindl. Kindle will be paired with Theo Peckham and Matt Jones will be a healthy scratch. "I am being given an opportunity to prove myself at the NHL level. I plan on doing so and am greatfull at the opportunity." Assistant GM T.Jackson said this about the call up of Kindl, "We have always liked Jakub. We decided to see what hes got right now. See if he can handle the pressure of a playoff run this early in his career. We also needed to get more production out of our third defensive pairing and are hoping Kindl can provide that spark." WOW! Thats amazing guts throwing a young defenseman out there in the middle of a playoff push.

Game 2 (4/30/09): Jokinen's poke check has worked again to give the Yotes a 2-0 lead on the first period. "I don't know what it is about the poke check. Maybe its just the goalies out there thinking they have it covered, but it boggles me. Im just gonna keep doing it. It works for me." But the Sharks make it 2-1 on a give-a-way in the defensive zone. Todd Fedoruk un-ties itat 3-1 with a deflection off of Michalek's shot from the point, "Just the right time at the right place" - Todd Fedoruk on his goal. Boedker and Doan add EN goals late in the third. The Coyotes win 5-2 despite a late flurry before the EN goals. Jokinen added 2 goals and 1 assist. Michalek added 3 assists. While Tellqvist gets the win.

Game 3 at San Jose (5/2/09): Kyle Turris takes a play outof fellow teammate Olli Jokinen's playbook. Yep, thats right. The poke check has worked for a different Phoenix player. "Olli just told us to try it when we went in at the goalie. Just to see. Its working. Never see a stranger thing happen this much. Its weird." But it wasn't enough as the Sharks take game 3, 4-1. "I just played a bad game. We turned the puck overa lot, but its my job to make sure those dont go in. I dodnt do that today."

Game 4 at San Jose (5/4/09): HE STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!!! The Poke Check Bandit is back. Yes, Olli Jokinen has scored once again using his now signature poke check. He tied the game at 1-1 with that goal. Mueller strikes back after the Sharks add another goal. He andswer them with just 6.8 seconds left in the game. "It feels great to be playing so well. I love this team. Never thought we would be this far this early. Its a great feeling." The Yotes take game 4, 5-4. Yandle added 1 goal and 3 assits to get the first star of the game. "It feels great to finally contribute. Thats not my game. Ive never really been known for my offense, more so my defense." Jokinen and Mueller both had 2 goals.

Game 5 (5/6/09): Ed Jovanovski injured Patrick Marleau in the first period. Marleau had been skating with te puck along the board about to enter the offensive zone, when Jovanovski came across ice and hip checked Marleau hard into the boards. "Its just part of the game. I feel bad for injuring him, but as a professional you should know not to skate with your head down." Marleau couldn't be reached for comments. However, the word is that Marleau will be out for at least 20 days. But he will have lots of time to heal as the San Jose Sharks lose game 5, 4-3. The explosive Phoenix squad takes care of business once again as they take the series 4-1. Olli Jokinen had a Hat Trick. Jovanovski and Elias both added 2 assists. "This is great. We just have 2 more series after this game. Just two more 'til we can say we are the Stanley Cup champions."

Phoenix's next test will come up against a power house, all elite goaltender in Roberto Luongo. All I can say to Phoenix is this.... GOOD LUCK!
