Dominating this much on MOP is crazy impressive.

FYI - (If you don't recruit a single foreign player you will miss out on an attribute point)...just in case you didn't know.

I know, I feel like I am playing really goood team basketball, but still allowing Chavis Holmes to dominate. Next Year could be a little rougher like I said with the loss of my star. I will prob go with a somewhat tougher schedule next year as well. I am in negotiations with a few bigger schools, hopefully they will allow for me to schedule a game with the, if not just at their place.

Yes, I am aware that I will miss out on a point. However, I can take care of that later on at a larger school if I decide to move on or if I am dominating at VMI. I just don't want to use the recruiting glitch to gain an unfair advantage with 4 or 5 star recruits that aren't even recruited by others. Thanks for following.

          at William & Mary

          97-82

There was a goal for Coach G in this pregame talk to the team. He wanted to run and gun as much as he could during the game tonight. He wanted to score 5 points a minute for 20 minutes. Go for the 100 point plateau. And well, he almost got there. VMI came out on fire. They started the game on an 11-3 run. By the time it was half time they had pulled away considerably from W&M. It was 49-37 at the break. VMI shot 72% over the course of the half, and their defense wasn't much better, but allow W&M to shoot 65%. Chavis Holmes had 16 points at the break and Travis Holmes had 14. The 2nd half was much of the same. VMI scored in bunches and W&M tried to answer, but wasn't able to make up any ground. VMI came up 3 points shy of its goal for the night. They finished 10/20 from 3 and 35/53 from the field. Chavis Holmes finished with 30 points. Travis had 23. Quinn Brownfield contributed 13 points and 5 assits. Stephen Sarent had 11 points as well. It was a good thing VMI was hot, becuse JR SG David Schneider of W&M was on fire. He finished with 26 points on 10/13 shooting and 6/7 from beyond the arc.

          11-1

            75-70

Richmond came into the game 10-3. They showed why early on taking a 17-9 lead. They had VMI back on their heels. Chavis Holmes then put VMI on his back. He hit 3 consecutive 3 pointers to cut into the lead, but he wasn't enough in the first half. Richmond led at the break 36-33 at half time. Chavis Holmes led VMI with 13. Giddings led Richmond with 12. Richmond shot 60 percent including 4/7 from 3. In the 2nd Half, VMI got key contributions from FR SF Aaron Blosser. He had 11 points including a spectacular hoop and harm to tie the game at 40. Chavis Holmes then took over the game. he had 17 of his 30 in the second half. He was 12/21 from the field including 5/11 from 3. Travis Holmes and Quinn Brownfield each chipped in 10 points a piece as well. Richmond was led by JR PF Dan Geriot who had 15. Giddings was held to 2 points in the 2nd half and finished with 14 points.

                at Mercer

                63-58

Early on in the game, it was the Chavis Holmes show. He scored the first 16 points of the game in the opening 4 minutes to give the Keydets a 16-8 lead. He hit 4 3 pointers during that stretch. Then he had to go out of the game, because he was getting a little tired. Mercer was up to the challenge after he left the game. They came back to take the lead 23-22. However, VMI responded and too the lead giong into the break 24-23 after 2 free throws by Stephen Sargent. VMI was led at half by Chavis Holmes once again with 16 points. JR SG Michael Ellis led Mercer with 9 points in the first half. Down the stretch the game became tighter and tighter. VMI leaned on Chavis Holmes, the 3rd leading scorer in the NCAA, more and more. The game was tied at 54-54. Holmes hits a 3 to go up 57-54. After this, Mercer was unable to convert and it became a free throw and 3 point shooting contest for VMI and Mercer respectively. VMI was able to come out with their 12th victory in a row and conclude their non-conference schedule at 13-1 with their lone loss coming in the finals of the Hangar Classic against Air Force in Overtime. Chavis Holmes finished with 33 points on 11/22 shooting and was 7/15 from 3. Stephen Sargent went for 10 points and 9 rebounds. Mercer was led by JR PG James Florence who had 18 points and 7 assists.

                13-1

                  Conference Preview

As the Big South approaches its conference season, we take a look at the standings.

                  Standings
                  1. VMI (13-1)
                  2. Winthrop (6-5)
                  3. Liberty (6-7)
                  4. Radford (4-6)
                  5. Charl. Sourthern (3-6)
                  6. Coastal Carolina (3-6)
                  7. UNC-Asheville (3-6)
                  8. High Point (2-6)

Every team is rated from 64-72. There should be some great matchups during the conference slate. One to look forward too is the meeting between Winthrop and VMI. Winthrop has dominated the Big South the past few years. However, VMI has been on a roll. They have won 12 straight ball games including three wins over top 25 teams (UCLA, Michigan State, and Ohio State). Chavis Holmes is the clear front runner for conference players of the year, but he will have to keep it up in conference to earn the honor. Liberty could also be tough win newcomer FR SG Seth Curry ready to fill it up.

                    at Charleston Southern

                    59-51

Entering the first game of the conference slate, the Keydets looked to continue their winning ways. The game was close for almost the entire duration. VMI only led by 4 at the break 30-26 and rode the momentum of Chavis Holmes 34 points to victory. Holmes was 8/15 from beyond the arc and continues to be one of the nation's most prolific scorers. Travis Holmes also had 11 points for the Keydets. Charleston Southern was led by JR SF Sean Sweeney and SO SF Omar Carter who both had 16 points.

                    14-1 (1-0)

                    at Coastal Carolina

                    56-48

The game started out much like the last one against Charleston Southern. VMI quickly took control and rode the momentum of Chavis Holmes scoring to victory. VMI led by 2 points at the break. 28-26 was the score at the break and VMI led by from 3-8 the whole game. Chavis Holmes finished with 24 points. He was very cold from outside only connecting on 6/15 from the 3 point arc. Stephen Sargent continued to improve inside. He finished the game with 10 points 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Coastal Carolina was led by FR SG Darius Steger. He had 17 points, which was way above his season average of 4.6 ppg. They finished by beating Coastal Carolina by 8.

                    15-1 (2-0)

                    vs. UNC Asheville

                    74-64

VMI started off on one of its slow starts again. They were down 11-3 to start the game. It took VMI a long time to get back into the game. They crawled back into the lead with 2 minutes left in the half and then led at the break by 2 points at 35-33. Travis Holmes led the Keydets with 12 points at thebreak on 4/6 from 3. However, UNC-Asheville came out hot. They took a quick lead and rode the momentum to a 52-43 lead with 5:43 left in the game. However, it was all VMI from that point on. The Keydets took the lead 55-54 with 4:12 left. Then they continued that 31-12 run to end the game. Chavis Holmes came on at the end of the game to score a game high 30 points. Stephen Sargent had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Travis Holmes finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds. UNC-Asheville was led by SO SG Donovan Jones with 18 points and FR PG J.P. Primm who had 15 points and 7 assists. VMI now looks forward to a showdown with 3-0 league foe Winthrop.

                        at Winthrop

                        66-50

VMI came out smoking hot. They went on a 18-5 run to start the game. However, Winthrop was up to the challenge early. They cut the lead to 3 points at 25-22 with 1 minute remaining in the half. Then they proceeded to get 2 steals and 2 scores to take a 26-25 lead going into the break. Winthrop shot 61% in the first half. Chavis Holmes led VMI with 8 points and SO PF George Valentine led Winthrop with 6 points. Early in the second half, the game looked like it was going to be neck and neck for much of the 2nd half. The game was tied at 31 after 2 3 pointers by Chavis Holmes and Travis Holmes on back to back possessions. Then Chavis hit a wide open 3 to give the Keydets a 34-31 lead with 7:50 to play in the game. The teams then exchanged the lead 3 or 4 times and Winthrop led 39-38 with 4:50 left. VMI went on an 8-2 run to take the lead 46-41. Again VMI went on a run which extended the lead for VMI to 12 points and they eventually wound up winning 66-50. VMI looks to be the class of the Big South this year. Chavis Holmes finished with 28 points and 7 assists on 5/10 from 3. Travis Holmes had 15 points and Stephen Sargent had his best game of the year with 17 points 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. SR PF Jonathan Rice led the Eagles with 13 points

                          vs. Liberty

                          57-54

This game was close the whole way, but yet so far away. It seemed as though the game was never in danger for VMI. In the first half it was all Keydets. They jumped out to a 31-20 lead at the break. Liberty shot 9/17 in the first half. For the Keydets Chavis Holmes 19 points 5/8 from 3 and Stephen Sargent 10 points 2 rebounds 4 blocks. However, the 2nd half was a different story. Liberty got a little closer in the 2nd half. They cut it to 6 at 45-39. Then got it to 3 with 1 minute left at 53-50. However, with solid defense and rebounding VMI held on to win 57-54
Chavis Holmes had 31 points to lead all scoreres. Stephen Sargent had 14 points 9 rebounds and 5 blocks in yet again his best game of his short career. For Liberty, Seth Curry had 10 points and 5 rebounds. He could be a future star in the league.

                          18-1 (5-0)

                          ------------------------------------------------------------

                          at High Point

                          70-56

High point was looking to take down the top gun in the Big South. VMI found itself down 15-6 after 4 minutes of play. They responded when they went on a 10-1 run to tie the game at 16 with 5 minutes left in the half. High Point would not go away. High Point led 29-28 at the break. At the half, High Point was shooting 60%. JR SG Eugene Harris had 11 for High Point and Travis Holmes had 9 points on 3 3 pointers for VMI. Chavis Holmes was unlike himself in the first half. He had only 4 points in the first half including 0/4 from 3. In the 2nd Half, Holmes took over. Chavis Holmes hit 3 straight 3 pointers to make the lead 39-33 in favor of the Keydets with 7:18 left in the game. He then continued his dominance by scoring 30 points in the second half on 7/11 from 3. Chavis finished with 34 points overall. Eugene Harris led High Point with 24 points. The Big South is just too weak for the coaching style of Coach G. His team is playing great team basketball and is looking unstoppable behind the senior leadership of the Holmes brothers. Once they leave, what will happen? They cover up a lot of the mistakes that VMI makes with their great shooting and defense.

Hey you made the top 25 that's awesome man. Keep it up.
                              Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.
