Restoring the Roar: A Kentucky Wildcats Legacy (CH 2K9)
With Gillispie being fired and me finally finding sliders I can have competitive games on with realistic stats, figured I'd start up a CH legacy with Kentucky. Plus, at worst, I can only do as bad as Gillispie actually did and get fired lol. This won't be updated as frequently as my New York Islanders dynasty as that is my first priority, but there should be a game played at least every couple days or so.Tags: None -

Re: Restoring the Roar: A Kentucky Wildcats Legacy (CH 2K9)
Preseason Recruiting
With one scholarship to hand out this season, coach Gillispie is looking for a true center that could possibly step into a starting role next year. And if he can land the 7'0" Leo Dewitt from Flint, Michigan, he'll have done just that. He's ranked as the #1 Center and #25 overall. Though the Wildcats are #1 on his list right now, there are tons of teams interested in his services most notably Notre Dame and Michigan State.
Option two for Kentucky is Chicago, Illinois native Cesar Jefferson (#11 Rated Center), though only 6'9" he pounds the boards hard, but would take a year or maybe two before he'd be ready to start. The Wildcats are also tops on his list as of right now and by a fair margain.Comment

As do I haha
The 20 minute all-conference ones in the slider forum, can't remember who made them. I've edited them a little bit because well... I suck at this game honestly haha. First game should be up in a bit and you'll probably see what I mean.Comment

Lexington, KYKentucky starts out slow, leading by only 5 at the half before exploding it open in the 2nd half. Meeks leads the way with 17 points on 7-11 shooting in only 21 minutes due to two early fouls in the first half and was helped along by 4 other players scoring in double digits. Porter impressive off the bench scoring 11 on 100% shooting. The Wildcats will face Alabama A&M who defeated Gardner-Webb 72-69.

Lexington, KYThe Wildcats barely survive against the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M thanks to the heroics of Patrick Patterson who scored 34 to go along with 15 rebounds. Both teams came out firing with Patterson scoring 14 of Kentucky's first 19 points and Cornelius Hester going 4-4 from 3-point range for A&M as the Wildcats would take an early albeit small lead. Halfway through the 1st half though, it would be Alabama A&M leading, 28-23 and that lead would only grow with the Bulldogs getting up by 10 with just over 5 minutes left in the half. The Wildcats would go on a mini run to end the half to make it 45-41 at the half for the visitors. Patterson was the only strong player for the Wildcats in the half, but boy was he ever as he had 20 points and 8 rebounds. The game would be back and forth in the 2nd half, with the Bulldogs leading until 12:19 when Kentucky would finally get the lead back. Alabama A&M would tie it with 7:45 left and from then on it would be back and forth until the Bulldogs would once again take the lead with 4:32, a lead they would hold onto until Meeks would tie it with two free throws with 1:43 left and that's when A&M's dreams of an upset would end. The next possesion Harris would steal it and throw it upcourt to Patterson for the slam before Gladness would miss a wide open jumper from the top of the key for the Bulldogs, Stevenson grabbed the rebound, the Wildcats brought it upcourt and Meeks would nail a wide open 3 to make it 5 point game with 36 seconds remaining and clinch the game for Kentucky. The Wildcats had better bring their A game in the next game though as it'll be against #9 UConn who beat Buffalo 76-68 to move on.

New York City, NYThe Wildcats get absolutely destroyed by UConn as even the starters get outplayed by UConn's bench. The Huskies led 25-8 halfway through the first half, thanks to a 17-2 run and ended up leading 52-27 at halftime as Kentucky shot 11-31 including 0-9 from 3-point range. 8 turnovers and 12 fouls definitely didn't help the Wildcats either. The Huskies would play their bench in the 2nd half and just coast to an easy blowout win. In even better news, Oklahoma beat #3 Memphis 89-74, meaning the Wildcats play the Tigers tomorrow in the 3rd-4th match.

Yeah... didn't matter who lost between Oklahoma and Memphis we were in for another tough game, we'll see how it goes though. If nothing else, it's just a little more experience for when we play the Tar Heels, Gators and Volunteers.Comment
