        Game 11 (Grand Rapids Griffins)
We won this won 2-1. I didn’t have any goals or assists, but I had a couple of really good hits early and that always gets the team going. Coach Murray didn’t say anything negative, but I hate that I didn’t produce any points for the first game on the scoring line. I gotta at least pump out some assists if I want NHL scouts to notice me.

I went down to see my mom this weekend and just tell her everything my father told me. Its funny how in life when tragedy strikes, you never realize the little things never occur to you. If my father goes to jail then my mom is going to be stuck in Virginia until I make it to the NHL and can afford to get her a new place closer to Boston so she can visit me more often and come to the games. She needs something to get her mind off of everything. In the mean time, I got paid this week so, she is going to be staying in a cheap hotel near my apartment. Emotionally she was devastated, but I think in the end she will finally leave that jerk and start a new life. She is only 37 (I was somewhat of an accident) so she definitely has time to get back on the market and start dating again. I really hope she finds someone a little more right for her than my scum of a father; she deserves it.

Game 12 (Chicago Wolves) November 2nd
Dang! We put a great effort into getting back into the game after being down 2-0 at the end of the first period. I had an assist to Sobotka in the second period, making it only a one goal deficit. Then, in the third period we worked all period and finally got a great chance when I wasn’t on the ice. It was a high left slap shot, which made their goalie frustrated and gave us all the momentum. However, with 46 seconds left their leading goal scorer hit a soft floating wrist shot past our goalie who was screened on the play. After the game, the weirdest thing happened though. Tony invited me to come to his place for a beer after the game. I kindly declined, cause I was going out to dinner with my mom, and I explained the situation, not in detail, so he would understand.

That night at dinner my mom broke down, which I expected to happen. However, as opposed to it being in her hotel room, it seemed like the whole situation dawned on her in the middle of the local McDonald’s. I tried to calm her down when she said she couldn’t believe this was happening, but there was no stopping the lady. A lot of words came out in that conversation that were too profane for this entry, but I will paraphrase to the best of my abilities.

“I hate that jerk! Hate him! He has been ruining my life for longer than I can remember enjoying it. That ****head. He is always just saying he is going to fix his life and make an honest living then the next day he is just up and gone. Maybe they’ll keep him in jail forever. FOREVER! I hate that bastard! He is going to get raped and all kinds of bad crap in jail. No one is going to care that he was once on the Devils. I hope he dies!” She was screaming at the top of her lungs, crying between each sentence. After we got over everyone staring, I walked her out and drove home in silence.

The weirdest part about my conversation with her is you could tell she still loved him. Those may not be the most loving words, but it was obvious how she said them she was scared for him and really cared about him. Some crazy way, my mom was still in love with the man who had been wrecking our lives ever since he was kicked out of the NHL.

Game 13 (Manchester Monarchs) November 3rd

How inconsistent we are. A night after losing to a sub .500 team in the Wolves, we came back and defeated the third place Monarchs, 3-1. The score was one to one with 4 minutes left, and I hit Sobokta with a pass from behind the net. He deked his man, had a decent look, and just wrist shot it right it. I will tell you what, between him and Tony I get a heck of a lot assists. Anyway, in the garbage time with two minutes left, I got a goal, knocking it into the upper shelf. It was nice to finally get one goal on the first line, I think I have found a more permanent home on the first line then I had on the third or second.

Today after the game I went out to the local club with Sobotka and we were the life of the party. We each brought home two girls from the party, but wouldn’t you know my mom was waiting for me in the apartment talking to Wacey. Maybe that was a good thing though, they both had lost someone that they loved, at least for the short term. My mom saw the two girls, laughed, and offered to come back another time. However, my mom looks young, so the two girls thought she was my girlfriend, not my mom. Thankfully, how embarrassing that would have been. Anyway, you should’ve seen how fast those girls tailed *** out of there.
