Knights Winning Streak Stopped at Four Games

You know the old saying "All good things must come to an end" well that held true for the Army Black Knights who had their four game winning streak snapped tonight at the hands of the James Madison University Dukes.


"They played really touch defense," said Head Coach Derek Walton. "The full court zone presses really killed us in the long run,"

The Black Knights came out strong but finally subcame to the pressure of the zone press. Which caused a fifteen point loss for the Knigths by a score of 56-40.

The fourty points were the lowest output by the Black Knights so far this season(their highest being eighty-three points) But that didn't put a damper on the hopes of their head coach.

"Every Team has a bad game or two, but the team that can rebound the fastest, is the team that will be going on the longest."

West Point, NY(AP)It was a 20+ point effort for David Carson. As the Army Black Knights went to 3-0 this season at home and improved to 6-4 over the course of the regular season with a 73-62 victory over the Knights of Fairleigh Dickenson University.

"We've been playing great at home," said head Coach Derek Walton, "The fans are really like a 6th man out there"

It was round two in the battle of the Knights this year which drew at 1 game a piece.

Since starting 0-3, the Army Black Knights went 6-1 to now sit at 6-4 on the season as they head into confrence play.

Worchester, MA(AP), The Army Black Knights had to go on an 11-0 run to pull out a six point victory aganist the Holy Cross Crusaders.

"We won, that's what matters" said head coach Derek Walton who has so far guided the Black Knights to a record of 7-4.

It was a see saw game until Holy Cros went on a five to nothing run with less than two minutes to go. Army stormed back like a wounded pack of dogs and picked up the six point victory.

POGavid Carson(ARMY) 14 pts, 8 rebounds, 7 blocks, 4 stls, 2 assts.
