      KARN FINISHES 25TH

Scottsdale, Az(AP) Drew Karn, the young canadian upstart finished in 25th place in this weeks TPC of Scottsdale Open.

"I started off well on the first two days, and then on the weekend it all went down the tubes," said Karn following his final round. "I guess it was the pressure of playing on the weekend on the tour for the first time that did me in."

For Karns effots, he took home his first professional cheque. This cheque was worth $12,031.

Lorne Roberts took home the $375,000 first place cheque after an exhausting 6 player sudden death playoff.

Next up for the tour players is the Holywood Pro-Am at the Bay Hill Golf and Country Club next week.

KARN OPENS UP HOLLYWOOD PRO AM WITH A 71

Drew Karn started off the Hollywood Pro Am with a scambling first round score of one under par 71.

Karn started on the outward nine, a front nine that included a string of four consecutive birdies, three bogeys, and one double bogey giving him an outward score of 37 on the par 36 front nine.

The back nine was a little bit more kind to Karn as he scored three birdies, 5 pars, and 1 bogey for an inward score of two under par, 34.

"I was scrambling on nearly every hole," said Karn following his opening round, but I was able to convert a lot of balls that shouldn't have been par but rather bogeys, or double bogeys, so when you do that, it works out over the long run"

There is a tie atop the leader board at three under par 68. Drew Karn sits two shots back in a tie for tenth place.

                  KARN FIRES SECOND STRAIGHT 71

It was a rough last four holes and what should have been a 68 turned into a fairly respectable 71.

"I had some trouble the last four holes, hopefully I can turn that around on Saturday and Sunday" said Karn.

Vijay Singh holds the one shot lead at -7 over two others at -6.

KARN FIRES OPENING ROUND 72 AT POPPY HILLS

Drew Karn fired an opening round even par 72 at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The Even Par 72 puts the rookie four shots off of Fred Funks pace and in tie for sixteenth position.

"It give me a lot more confidence after last weeks final round" Karn said Following his round.

But Fred Funk is the man that they are all chasing who opened up with a four under par 68 to lead by one shot over two other golfers.

"It feels good to be out front," said Funk following his opening round, "Hopefully I can continue it and finish strong over the final three days."
