"It give me a lot more confidence after last weeks final round" Karn said Following his round.

But Fred Funk is the man that they are all chasing who opened up with a four under par 68 to lead by one shot over two other golfers.

"It feels good to be out front," said Funk following his opening round, "Hopefully I can continue it and finish strong over the final three days."

KARN FIRES SECOND ROUND 68 TO PULL WITHIN THREE OF FUNK

Drew Karn fired a four under par 68 to leave him at four under par through two rounds of the Pebble Beach Pro Am. Yesterday's first round leader, Fred Funk fired a three under par 69 to put him at seven under par through two rounds.

Karn was quoted after his round as saying "This isn't a bad position to be in, but then again I thought that last week and I wound up <censored>baked in the final round."

Karn is noted for his weekend struggles in his young career. Missing just one cut in three tournaments this season, he proved that getting to the weekend isn't his problem, it staying competitive.

Drew Karn currently sits in a tie for fourth position with Chris Riley, three shots off of the leader.

KARN FIRES A TWO UNDER PAR AT SPYGLASS

Drew Karn fired a two under par 70 at Spyglass Hill on Saturday, his third round of the Pebble Beach Pro Am. With this round Karn is now six under par for the tournament over three rounds.

"Let's hope I don't blow up tomorrow like I did last Sunday," said Karn in a joking manner in the clubhouse following his third round.

Fred Funk still leads after three rounds with a ten under par(206), giving him a four shot lead over Karn, Vijay Singh, and the ever so dangerous Tiger Woods.

A costly bogey on the 17th hole at pebble beach took Drew Karn out of the running for his first professional title. Karn entered the day sitting seven shots off the pace and came all the way back to tie both playing partner Fred Funk and clubhouse leader Vijay Singh after Funk and Karn had completed 16 holes. But inches separated Karn from what would have been a three way playoff for the championship and his third place finish.

"It would have been nice to win," said a slightly disappointed Karn following the round, "But third place also brings you home a nice chunk of change."

Next up for the PGA tour professionals is the Torrey Pines Championship taking place next week at the Torrey Pines Club in sunny San Diego California.
