South Carolina @ Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has played cupcakes all year, constantly knocked my Vitale for only difficult tests against Memphis and Oklahoma State, in which they failed. The Panthers would get another big test in tonight's matchup with South Carolina.
South Carolina is playing very good ball at 7-3. It was also evident when they came out and embarassed the Panthers on the road. Krauser has been the key for the Panthers every game this season, but he was a non-factor in tonights game. He complained about the refs calling "ticky-tack" fouls, and had an early exit, leaving the game in the second half with 13 minutes left because he fouled out. South Carolina stepped up with his absence, and led the game at the break, 40-22.
This game had blowout written all over it, but Pitt showed tremendous heart and fought their way back into the game with 6 minutes left. Chris Taft scored all 21 of his points in the second half, and played great defense on the other end. Freshman guards Keith Benjamin and John DeGroat got out in transition with high-flying dunks to ignite the crowd.
Pitt had the last possesion of the game, in which they went inside to Taft who got fouled with no time left. The game was tied, and he sunk the two free-throws to win the basketball game.
Pitt pulled off an amazing comeback and win 65-63.
