Coach Gilbert Neverett and the Auburn Tigers opened up the season on the road against John Chaney and the Temple Owls, a middle of the line A-10 team.

Early on, nobody could stop Auburn's Toney Douglas. The freshman hit three three-pointers in a row at one point in the first half, helping the Tigers out to a big lead. Ian Young also threw a couple long jumpers in the mix, and capped off a 18-4 run with a three-pointer.

The second half was fairly similar, and Auburn pulled even further away from the Owls. Douglas continued his lights out play in his first collegiate game, and the Tigers rolled, 76-52.

Nice wins over Temple and Furman.

Douglas is a monster! I can him landing a few triple-doubles by the end of the season. He has a good shot at SEC Freshman of the Year.
