            Kordell Stewart wasn't suiting up for Colorado. The game wasn't even in Michigan. But Colorado and Michigan bashed heads at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

            The Buffs jumped out to a 10-4 lead early, and it looked promising. But Michigan scored the next 13 points and never looked back. Led by the fast break, 52% shooting and 20 assists, the Wolverines led by double digits for most of the game, and ultimately won their second round Preseason NIT game, 64-55.

            Lester Abram: 16 points, 5 assists
            Courtney Sims: 9 points, 5 rebounds
            Chris Hunter: 17 rebounds

                The third round of the Preseason NIT pitted the Michigan Wolverines against the San Diego Toreros of the West Coast Conference.

                Michigan held a slim lead at halftime, but their superb FT shooting (23-27) could not overcome their pitiful FG shooting (31%), and the Toreros eventually built up an 8 point lead.

                Michigan got it to 62-61 with around 2:00 to go, but could not keep up and the Toreros widened the gap with free throws, and ultimately eliminated Michigan from the tournament with a 79-67 victory.

                        The Wolverines looked to bounce back from their defeat in the Preseason NIT with a strong showing in their home opener at Crisler Arena vs. Sacramento State, but early on it look as if the Hornets would run away with it as they jumped out to an 18-7 lead. But led by Daniel Horton and Lester Abram, the Wolverines clawed back in it and jumped out to a 35-29 lead at halftime.

                        After the break, Michigan bit down and bit down hard, going on a 14-2 run to start the second half, opening up a 49-31 lead. Led by their speedsters-Horton, Abram and Dion Harris-the Wolverines coasted to a 79-57 win and a 3-1 record.

                                For the first half of the first half, Michigan was doing the unthinkable.

                                By halftime, Michigan was hanging around.

                                By the end of the game, the gap in talent between the Wolverines and #2 Georgia Tech was painfully obvious.

                                Michigan jumped out to a stunning 20-7 lead in Atlanta, but B.J. Elder unleashed an assault from the arc, and aided by Jarrett Jack's pinpoint passing, the Yellow Jackets blew open a close game at halftime and ran away with the game, 88-71.
