      With conference play right around the corner, the Michigan Wolverines looked to establish home court, welcoming the Delaware State Hornets of the MEAC to Crisler Arena.

      They were in for a rude awakening at first, as the Hornets' defense smothered Michigan in the first half, and held a 29-25 lead at the break. Michigan's fast break sparked in the second half however as Michigan cruised past the overmatched Hornets 46-27 in the second half, and winning the game 71-56.

      Player of the Game

      Dion Harris: 27 points, 2 assists

      MICHIGAN WOLVERINES
      Lester Abram: 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists
      Courtney Sims: 13 points, 16 rebounds, 2 blocks
      Chris Hunter: 6 points, 11 rebounds

                  In the final game before their Big Ten opener at Iowa, the Wolverines looked for a strong statement against the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs.

                  And they did, as they delivered their strongest effort of the season, both offensively and defensively. They shot 61% from the floor and dished out 31 assists, while outrebounding UNCA 36-22, in a 90-59 rout.

                          At first, it appeared that Michigan would fold under the pressure of their conference opener, on the road at Iowa.

                          But then Michigan showed the determination and drive of a team finally tasting the top 25. The Wolverines shot an incredible 67% from the field, including 10-16 (63%) from beyond the arc, blowing open a game that was close at halftime, totally dismantling the struggling Hawkeyes, 100-71.
