    #10 Michigan State     35    20-55
    #18 Michigan             41    40-81

The 18th-ranked Wolverines were dying for revenge as #10 Michigan State visited Crisler Arena. The Wolverines were looking to put two of their most hurtful losses of the season behind them--their last game, an 84-71 loss to Illinois at home after trailing by only 1 in the late minutes, and an 80-79 loss in East Lansing against the Spartans earlier in the season.

In that game against MSU earlier, Paul Davis and Chris Hill had destroyed the Wolverines, Hill going for 22 points and 14 assists, and Davis dominating inside with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Michigan Coach Tommy Amaker emphasized how important it was to not let that happen again. This produced a 41-35 lead for UM at halftime.

The second half was a totally different story--in a good way. Michigan shot nearly 80% in the second half, and crushed their arch nemesis 40-20, winning the game 81-55, exorcizing the demons of Michigan State.

    Player of the Game

Courtney Sims: 29 points, 16 rebounds, 6 blocks, 3 assists

Daniel Horton: 19 points, 8 assists
Dion Harris: 13 points, 6 assists, 2 steals
Chris Hunter: 9 points, 6 rebounds

Shannon Brown: 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists
Chris Hill: 13 points, 7 assists
Kelvin Torbert: 9 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds
Paul Davis: 4 points, 3 rebounds
