Good luck against Georiga. Even though you are the ranked team, it looks like they have a pretty loaded team. Especially on Offense.

Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
GOPHERS END SEASON ON SOUR NOTE
Shawn Williams (#29) intercepts Aaron Lester to seal the game for the Bulldogs.
The Gophers had high hopes coming into the season coming off its first national title in over 50 years. There were some questions though with MarQueis Gray going to the NFL Draft, and Heisman winner Da'Jon McKnight graduating. The end of the season culminated with a 28-23 loss to the Gerogia Bulldogs in the Gator Bowl. Bulldog Washuan Ealey ate up the Gophers on the ground for 239 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Murray was also very good for the Bulldogs going 21-27 for 308 yards and 2 touchdowns. Aaron Lester was once again horribly inaccurate going 15-43 for 322 yards for 2 touchdowns and two interceptions. Going into the half, the Gophers were down 28-7 so coming back and making a game of it in the second half. The Gophers end up with a rather disappointing season, but this young team should grow in the coming years.

Analysis: As is evident here, there are many players on the defensive side of the ball that are leaving because of graduation. The linebacking core will probably struggle next year without the veteran presence of MLB Spencer Reeves and of course Keanon Cooper. Also losing their top 2 CB's in Michael Carter and Chase Haviland will hurt the secondary that was already spotty, but we'll see how it all pans out in regards to the recruiting class.

The Gophers pulled in the 40th ranked recruiting class in the nation this year while signing 9 4-stars, 4 3-stars, and 1 2-star. Their biggest need to address was the depth of the cornerback position in which they did a fine job of this year all the while pulling down a highly rated HB out of Georgia and the #5 ranked QB out of Montana. He was highly sought after by Boise State, but Minnesota was able to pry him away. Even though this year wasn't as good as most for the Gophers, they still pulled in a pretty good recruiting class to go along with their recruits from last year. They look to make some serious damage in another year or two when these guys mature.
They were also able to keep in the top rated recruit out of Minnesota to stay in the state which they have had trouble in doing before. It's hard to judge recruiting classes right away, but this one looks to be a good one.

RICK LYKELL GETS CHANCE AS NEW MEXICO'S NEW COACH
Albuquerque, NM - After another disappointing season for the New Mexico Lobos, now former head coach Mike Locksley has been fired and been replaced by up and coming head coach Rick Lykell. He hails from the frozen north, Minnesota in where he has lead his hometown Maple Grove Crimson to multiple state championships and is highly regarded for his Air Raid style of offense. He was running the shotgun at the high school level, which isn't the easiest thing to teach.
He has been fired after yet another disappointing season for the Lobos. He hopes to turn the program around, and to show that they are not going to be an easy opponent in the MWC. We'll see how he is able to do.
**Note: I'm going to be controlling both the Lobos and the Gophers. I think it's kind of a cool thing to run two separate teams in the same dynasty kind of like Deuce is running in his dynasties. Thanks to him for the idea, and I hope that you all enjoy it.

As it is obvious, the loss of a lot of the high end receivers is coming back to haunt the Gophers, but the improved play of Marquise Hill last year should be enough to make sure that they can still throw the ball effectively. Getting LaMonte Edwards back after breaking a vertebrae last year will help the running game immensely. The CB is showing a lot of youth, and might not be an ideal spot to have so many freshmen coming into play.
The Gophers hope to be much better than they were last year. They'll have an uphill battle to become relevant again.
