Nice franchise, great graphics do our Raiders proud in the divisional round! Will Leinart get a shot at the starting job next season? He did great this year.

note:the steelers and the colts should be switched, the records are right

                AFC Wild Card Teams

The Season started off with a bang as the Raiders released head coach Dennis Allen before he even coached his first official snap as head coach. The Raiders spurred conventional thinking and hired former CFL QB Reginald Crawford as their new coach. The season got off to a rough start early on, with the Raider's losing close game after close game. The season turned immediately after benching Palmer for another heisman winner, Matt Leinart in week 12. with Leinart under center the Raiders went 6-0 at the end of the season. This is the Oakland Raiders First Playoff Berth Since 2002. The Key to the Raiders success in the playoffs will be consistency at the QB position, and to keep McFadden going as he is easily the teams strongest weapon.

The Jacksonville Jaguars snuck up on alot of people this year. Many people wrote the team off as an after thought after keeping Gabbert in as QB during the offseason. A last minute pickup of former Dolphin Chad Henne and a strong draft however has the Jaguars in the Playoffs for the first time since 2007. The Jaguars were hard to keep down, winning six games in the 4th quarter after trailing at the half. It's not really easy to call Henne accurate (51 comp%), but he was effective enough to make a strong compliment with arguarably the best running back in the league MJD.The 10-6 Jaguars will be a tough matchup for any team in the 2012 playoffs. They go up against the Oakland Raiders in the wildcard round, another suprise contender.

The 2012 Pittsburg Steelers have their eyes set on another SuperBowl ring to add to their collection. Under Mike Tomlin the Steelers have amassed a strong 11-5 record.Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Dwyer made an impossing 1-2 punch at the running back position taking much needed pressure off QB Ben Roethlisbeger. Roethlisberger took advantage, compiling one of his better offensive seasons in his career. The Recieving core delievered down the depth chart with more than three reicevers collecting more than 700 yards (Brown,Wallace, Sanders). The defense lost a few steps as they aren't the defensive juggernaut they once were known to be, but it's clear the Steelers can mold with the time, and will be a strong matchup for the AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year Andrew Luck.

The Colts struck it gold with their #1 Overall pick in last years NFL Draft. Andrew Luck was everything he was advertised to be and more, leading the once pitiful Colts to an playoff berth much earlier than anyone expected. Luck and Co. turned it on late in the season tearing through opponets by way of scathing defense and timely scoring. The Colts have one of the best defensive players, and 2012 AFC Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Freeney leading the new look Colt defense. Robert Mathis and Antoine Bethea stepped it up big time this year, as well as last years standout Pat Angerer, who missed almost half the season with injury. The Colts go up against the Steelers in the wildcard round.

                NFC Wildcard Teams

The experiment in Philadelphia works out for Andy Reid as the Eagles bulldozed their way into the wildcard round. The Eagles got put the peices together in 2012. The 2012 Eagles were leaner, meaner and greener than their 2011 counterpart. Michael Vick was electric their year, throwing for 39 touchdowns and running for two. 14 of those receptions went to DeSean Jackson, who seems to have his head on straight after a pouty 2011 campaign. Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avante made solid contributions as well, especially Avant who pulled in 8 touchdowns. DeMeco Ryan and Brian Rolle turned into one of those most dominant linebacking duo in the NFC, wracking up 250+ tackles, 6 sacks, and 6 interceptions between the two of them. DRC and Asomouagh turned in solid seasons as well.

The perennial regular season underachievers. The New York Giants once again tip toe into the wildcard dispite having one of the more complete teams in all of football. Ranked 2nd in total offense and 9th in total defense, the Giants on paper should be a much higher seeded team. The peices and production is there; Manning, Bradshaw, Cruz, JPP. All had great seasons this year, and look to continue that success into their matchup against the Eagles. Last years Superbowl champions can not be counted out. They always find a way to turn it into the next gear when it really counts, espeically QB Eli Manning. Their first road block is the Division winning Eagles who beat the Giants in their last matchup in week 17.

The Buccaneers did everything they needed to do in the offseason to ensure a playoff berth in 2012. Playmaking wide reciever? check. impact running back? check. Pro-bowl tight end? check. The Buccaneers offseason moves payed big dividens on the field. Freeman took the next step in becoming a top tier QB in the National Football League. The addition of Vincent Jackson and Dallas Clark were big factors in Freemans development. Both put up strong numbers, giving Freeman and the offense two crutches to lean on in big situations. The mid season trade for Pierre Thomas was huge, adding a 1,300 yard rusher to the mix. Thomas was finally able to shine in Tampa Bay, putting career numbers across the board. The Buccaneers face the Falcons next.

The Falcons are the last wildcard team profiled and are many experts darkhorse team to reach the SuperBowl. The Falcons have the passing game and the running game to punish opposing defenses. Matt Ryan has weapons across the board. Roddy White, Julio Jones and Harry Douglas at the wideout position, Tony Gonzalez at tight end, Michael Turner and breakout player Jason Snelling at half back. It's very difficult for opposing defenses to plan for every threat at any given down. If the Falcons have any weakness its their weak pass defense that ranks near the bottem of the league. The 9-7 Falcons face the Buccaneers in the first round. The winner will go on to face the Packers.

If you didn't wait so long to put in Leinart, you may have made one of the byes. Can you give Leinart the career everyone thought he would have when drafted?

Bengals part ways with long time Head Coach Marvin Lewis.

Cinncinati - The Bengals have annouced that they have terminated the contract of long time head coach Marvin Lewis. Team officials cited locker room issues as a major motivating factor behind the decision to cut lewis loose. The teams 6-10 finish didn't make Lewis' situation any safer. Lewis was hired in 2003 and was the leagues third longest tenured coach coming into the 2012 season.

                        Silver and Black Game Update

Raiders Season Screechs to an Abrupt Halt with 27-22 loss to the Jaguars.

The Raiders gave the ball away Five times, three interceptions, and two fumbles.

Oakland - The Raider's season ends in cold hearted defeat as they were unable to overcome the Jacksonville Jaguars at home in saturdays wildcard matchup.

The Jacksonville Jaguars forced five turnovers from the Oakland Raiders, four of them coming at the cost of Matt Leinart. Leinart threw three crucial interceptions at the worst times possible, in the red zone. The Quarterback also fumbled the ball on a blindside sack that resulted in a touchdown for the Jaguars. The Jaguars were not without their turnover problems either, Chad Henne threw two ill-advised throws that ended in Raider hands. Although his interceptions didn't seem to have the impact that Leinarts did.

The Running games for most teams were largely kept in check. This game was the pinnacle of the downward spiral that McFadden has experienced in the last few games of the season. he rushed for a meager 48 yards on 17 carries. MJD didn't fare any better amassing 50 yards on 25 carries. McFaddens season ended in defeat and physical agony as he fractured his forearm in the 3rd quarter. Even if the Raider's advanced to the SuperBowl, they would have more than likely have been without their leading rusher.

The Jaguars will now move forward to take on the number one seeded Baltimore Ravens in the next round while the Raiders will have to sit from home and watch the postseason unfold from their couches. The offseason will be crucial inhelping the Raiders stay at the top of the AFC west. Leinart has made his case to become the starter in 2013. McFadden has made his case as one of the best running backs in the league, and Darius Heyward-Bey has produced well enough to backup his high draft selection. It'll be interesting to see how things unfold as the post season continues.

                            Question of the year.....

                            Leinart?
                            Free Agent Market?
                            Draft?

How are you getting your QB for next year? Your team lives and dies by who you have as QB.

                                Breaking News

Carsen Palmer Gets His Wish, Traded To Dolphins

Miami-The Oakland Raiders have finalized a deal that will send Carson Palmer to the Miami Dolphins for a 4th round draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft according to NFL officials.

Palmers 2012 season was defiantly one to forget in Palmers 10 year career. He lost his job to fellow USC alum Matt Lienart, who would go undefeated as a starter. Iniatially, tension between Palmer and Raider Head Coach Reginald Crawford seemed to be the cause of the teams early misfires, but Palmers continuing inconsistency proved to be the main cause. The public would eventually turn against the quarterback midway through the season. By week 12 Crawford had no choice but to go with a second option.

Palmer, who has been a starter for the majority of his career defiantly didn't take kindly to being dropped down the depth chart. Palmer demanded to be traded or be released. Sounds familiar doesnt it? It's because it was the exact situation Palmer was in at the end of 2010 in Cincy. The Raiders however felt no need to hold onto Palmer at this point and decided to pull the trigger on a trade that will help rebuild a team that was demolished by free agency.

"We're happy for Carson, he's a football player and just wanted to play football, he didn't see it happening in Oakland" said Crawford, "Good Luck in Miami, seeya next year."
