Re: No More Brady - A Ryan Mallett Patriots Story (Madden 13)

    2013 - WILD CARD WEEKEND

Moment of Truth - Both the Saints and Bears are looking to keep their seasons alive this week in the divisional round.

Won't Be Forgotten - Aaron Rodgers only has Super Bowl on the brain, and that was evident this week when he willed his team to the next round by throwing 5 TD passes.

Just Give Him the Ball - This week Joe Flacco had all the answers as he threw for 430 yards and helped guide his team into the next round of the playoffs.

Into The Void - In the playoffs, you can't get caught up in the moment. However, Ryan Mallett seemed to lose his cool this week throwing 4 interceptions.

Epic Meltdown - It's going to be a long offseason now for Michael Vick, who will have to live with his 3 INT performance against the Saints in the playoffs this week.

One and Done? - Fans in Atlanta will certainly despise the Packers more after they dispatched their Falcons in the Wild Card round.

Home-Field Advantage Plays Role - The Steelers just couldn't get over the hump in Baltimore.

New Orleans Survive Lion's Den - Can the Saints continue to win in the playoffs? A 41-30 win over the Eagles keeps their Super Bowl hopes alive.

    See Who's Tweetin'
@MikeHillEA - No reason why the Raiders can't get hot and shock the world. Right? #playoffs
@SCollinsEA - The Saints are road warriors!
@AdamSchefterEA - Home field proves its value again. When the playoffs start, you need every edge you can get. #Ravens
@WingozEA - Who had the homefield advantage in this one again?
@SCollinsEA - With D. McDonald at the helm, the Saints have the poise to pull this off. Hope they make their mark!
@SkipBaylessEA - Aaron Rodgers showed up in a big playoff spot, but he hasn't won anything yet.
@WingozEA - Aaron Rodgers did a great job throwing TDs this week. #fantasy
@RossTuckerEA - This is where the true players stand out. Joe Flacco stood out for sure. #playoffs
@SkipBayless - Look, at some point the defense should have stepped up and showed some pride in the secondary.
@RossTuckerEA - Ryan Mallet just seemed to lose his nerve in a big playoff spot.
@WingozEA - That's a long ride home for fans in New England. #bummer
@mortreportEA - 3 INTs for Michael Vick in a playoff game is a rough way to end the year.

That's it for tonight....but I have a task for you all...

I would like to see who you predict as the winners of these 4 Divisional Playoff games. If you would like to predict the two superbowl teams too, go for it.

With no TV shows this week, I may be able to finish up the playoffs before the weekend and get started on the off-season.

Re: No More Brady - A Ryan Mallett Patriots Story (Madden 13)

Chargers over Texans 34-27 (Upset special I guess...Chargers look like they've been road warriors, so hostile territory shouldn't bother them)

Seahawks over Packers 38-35 (12th man strikes again, helps Seattle hold off late rally)

Ravens over Raiders 24-14 (how did the Raiders win 10 games with that crappy an offense and a good-but-not-great defense? Heck, how did the Ravens give up all those points with a top 3 defense?)

Bears over Saints 45-31 (man...on paper, this looks like a shoot out. Saints solid offense vs Bears bad defense and Bears top tier offense vs Saints bad defense)

And....this is why I don't bet on sports LOL

That Raiders/Ravens box score is...weird - 40 points on 342 yards of offense and just 2 takeaways - no defensive TDs - no special teams TDs. I would love to have seen that play out.

Honestly I would love CPU vs CPU to come back. I could write up some editorials for these games instead of just box scores.

                        2013 - DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF WEEKEND

Best of the NFC - The Bears and Packers will meet for the NFC Championship.

Who Can Stop Him? - Jay Cutler will be focused on his next playoff test soon enough, but for the next 24 hours he'll enjoy the fact that he threw 5 TD passes this week.

Making the Right Throws - Being "clutch" is a debatable trait, but there is no debating how good Carson Palmer was this week in a big playoff spot. He threw 3 TD passes in a winning effort.

Playoff Focus - Aaron Rodgers knew he had to be good this week in the playoffs against the Seahawks, and his 157.8 QB rating shows he was just that.

Dominating the Point of Attack - To win in the playoffs, you have to get to the QB, and the Texans did that this week by racking up 4 sacks.

A Devastating Loss - A truly devastating loss for the Saints, a team that battles so hard even to get to this point.

Fans Not Needed - Inch by inch the Packers are closing in on the Super Bowl.

Scampering Towards the Super Bowl - The Texans get the 39-22 victory today in Houston, advancing to next week's conference championship game.

@WingozEA - Painful loss for Seahawks. Everything line up for them, except the scoreboard.
@SkipBaylessEA - Jay Cutler showed up in a big playoff spot, but he hasn't won anything yet.
@RossTuckerEA - Had a chance to speak with Jay Cutler, and he was excited about how the offense looked this week. #wellduh
@MarkSchlerethEA - Even during the playoffs, you got to relish victories a bit. Carson Palmer should not forget that.
@mortreportEA - Special game by Aaron Rodgers this week, as he had a 157.8 QB rating in a playoff victory.
@SkipBaylessEA - We've seen how teams win in the playoffs, it's with a GREAT pass rush. #Texans
@mortreportEA - Never underestimate the power of home field advantage in the NFL. Proven once again.
@MattMillerEA - I don't want to say I told you so, but I told Trey Wingo that home field advantage wasn't going to matter in this one.
@RossTuckerEA - The deeper you get in the playoffs the more important home field is, #Texans know that first hand.

Matt Schaub out for Conference Championship
T.J Yates to QB in Playoffs for 2nd year in a row

Houston, TX - As we all saw in the box scores, T.J Yates threw some passes. Not because it was late in the game with no chance at a comeback for the Chargers, but that Matt Schaub landed on his shoulder. This could mean many things for the game against Oakland this week. The Texans were the clear cut favorite coming into Sunday, but Oakland has a twinkle in their eyes because they can be relentless against young QB Yates. We can't wait to see if T.J Yates can pull of a miracle in Houston, but it will be a blast to watch...
