Note: Since this is a Road To Glory (in Dynasty, but you get the point), I will be doing sort of a diary/blog type deal after every game, in which Brian talks about different things, i.e the next opponent, how school is going, etc. Hope you like the addition!

      WEEK 2 ENTRY

So, we have another bye this week. 2nd in the last three weeks. Right now, we gotta prepare for Stanford. They run a standard 4-3, so preparation won't be too difficult. I just gotta put those picks behind me. I always seem to throw a few INTS a week, whether or not the opponent is any good. I suppose better decision making will come with time, but this happened in high school too, so I don't know what to think. I just gotta work on going through my reads and making the best decision in practice, I guess. Hopefully that translates to the live games.

Now Stanford, while they may run a traditional D, are stocked with talent on defense. Not many big names, but their entire defense is very athletic and talented, as well as smart (I mean, they're going to Stanford, so they must be smart, right?). Just have to make the right decisions and hope out defense contains McCaffrey, or it could be a long day.

          WEEK 2 PREVIEW

          ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS (1-0)

          OVR: 86
          OFF: 86
          DEF: 88

          @

          #6 STANFORD CARDINAL (2-0)

          OVR: 91
          OFF: 95
          DEF: 88

          PLAYER TO WATCH

Christian McCaffrey had another monster game last week versus the Army Black Knights (139 YDS, 1 TD), and looks to have a repeat performance against a much stronger and more talented defense. If he can do so, he could solidify another Heisman campaign and pick up where he left off last year. McCaffrey is currently 3rd in the PAC-12 in Yards, 1st in Yards Per Attempt, and is tied for 1st in Rushing Touchdowns. The ASU Defense will have a tough time containing McCaffrey, so he will be a big part of the Cardinal gameplan.

          FORKS UP!

ASU NARROWLY PULLS OUT UPSET OVER CARDINAL AS DEFENSE COMES UP BIG

In a game where ASU dominated the first half, as they went into the break up 20-3, Stanford seemed to get to the locker room at half and made it a game until the Sun Devils scored a late touchdown.

This stunning upset looked to be a dominant show of force by ASU through 2 quarters. After several good drives by the defense, including a turnover forced at the Stanford 35. However, Christian McCaffrey decided to show up in the 2nd half, as he ended up getting 183 yards and a touchdown on the ground. That is a little misleading though, because it took him 39 attempts to get there.

In the end, Brian Howell had a very efficient day, with a 75% completion percentage. The Sun Devils take on USC at home next week in a game, if they win, will put them in control of the PAC-12 South.
