OHIO STATE IS YOUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!

The Buckeyes finished off a perfect 14-0 season with a 31-21 win over TAMU. With the loss TAMU drops to #5 in the last poll of the season.

TEXAS DEFEATS ARMY IN ORANGE BOWL

Texas might not have gotten a chance to play for a American Conference title, but they did manage to pull off the win over Army (26-21) in the Orange Bowl to finish 12-1 on the season and #3 in the final BCS Poll.

UCLA DEFEATS BYU IN ROSE BOWL!!

UCLA score 14 points in the 3rd Quarter to defeat the Cougars in a Defensive brawl (17-13). With the win UCLA finishes the year 12-2 and #7 in the polls. Well BYU is 9-5 and unranked.

ALABAMA SMASHES MIAMI OH IN GO BOW!!L

Miami of Ohio might have won the MAC Championship but their bowl matchup vs Alabama in the Go Daddy.com Bowl didn't go as planned as the Tide Roll (57-28).

HOKIES "D" IS MIA VS SEMINOLES!!

Despite winning the ACC title the Virginia Tech Hokies were unprepared for the FSU Offense, as the Noles defeat the Hokies (56-35)

RAMS REPEAT AS FIESTA BOWL CHAMPS!!

The Clemson Tigers are now 0-3 this season vs the Moore Brothers, as little brother Kirby Moore guides the Colorado State Rams to back to back 13-1 seasons and Fiesta Bowl titles.

After a scoreless 1st Quarter both Offenses came alive in the 2nd Quarter as CSU scores twice and limits the Tigers to just 1 trip to the endzone and a late 2nd Quarter FG to go into the locker room (14-10).

The Ram's Defense then stood the test, throwing a 2nd half shutout against the Tigers, well SR QB A. Clayton throws 2 more TD's through the air and adds a 3rd on the ground.

With the win, CSU finishes the year as the #4 team in the country well Clemson drops to #10.

GATORS FINISH THE SEASON #2!!!

The Florida Gators and LSU Tigers are no strangers to Sugar Bowl's and are no strangers to playing each other including this year, when Florida defeated LSU.

Trailing (7-3) going into the 2nd Quarter, the Gators Offense explodes for 3 scores to take a (24-7) lead into the half. Both teams traded off scores in the 3rd Quarter to make it (31-14) going into the 4th.

LSU does manage to score back to back TD's to cut the lead to (31-28) with under 4 minutes to play, but with a solid gameplan and rushing attack, Andreson and compnay manage to take 3 minutes off the clock before Coach Moore has to settle for a 32 yd FG to make it a 1 score game.

The Tigers had their chance after completing a huge play on 3rd and 10, but JR FS M. Bonner comes up with a huge play to seal the win as he picks off LSU's D. Lumpkin.

Tournament season is in full swing right now for me in Disc Golf, so most of my days off are now spent on the course practicing and traveling, thus the reason for the shorter writeups.

GATOR'S ANDERSON FINISH'S 2ND IN HEISMAN VOTE!!

JR RB Kareem Anderson finished a close 2nd in the Heisman Vote. Anderson finished the season with career high's with 368 carries 1714 yds and 22 TD's and the ground. He also added 3 more TD's on 16 rec and 148 yds receiving.

Anderson finished 2nd in the D. Walker award, 4th in the Walter Camp, and 9th in the Maxwell.

Anderson's 1714 yds was a new school record.



TAMU SR QB Nick Gray ended up taking home the award. Gray also won the Maxwell and the Davey O'Brien Award, after finishing the season with a 181 QB Rating. Gray completed 292/428 attempts for 4208 yds with 44 TD and 8 INT, well also adding 610 yds rushing and 11 TD's on the ground.

GATOR'S LLOYD WINS RETURNMAN OF THE YEAR!!

Well K. Anderson failed in his Heisman bid, teammate and backfield mate, JR Dustin Llloyd did manage to bring home some hardware. Well Lloyd had limited carries out of the backfield with just 46 for 247 yds and 5 TD's. He was a absolute star in the return game, returning 61 kickoffs for 1886 yds including 2 for TD's including a school record 104 yd. Lloyd also added 352 yds on 36 punt returns giving him almost 2500 yds of total offense.

3 DEFENSIVE PLAYERS WIN HARDWARE!!

SR MLB Kelechi Chavez takes home the Bednarik honors over teammate OLB James Robinson.

Chavez finished the year with 65 Solo Tackles, 7 TFL, 9 ATK, 3 Sacks, a Forced Fumble and 2 INT.

Robinson had 71 Tackles, 8 TFL, 14 ATK, 2 Sacks and 3 Force Fumbles.

Fellow SR LB Damien Payne finished 4th in this vote, but did secure the "Best LB" award with 62 Solo tackles, 14 TFL, 11 ATK, 2 Sacks and 2 INT.

RS JR Tevita Miller takes home the Lombardi Award with a 52 Solo Tackles, 20 TFL, 4 ATK and 6 Sacks.

GATORS SAY GOODBYE TO 20 PLAYERS!!

Coach Kellen Moore will have to replace some very good talent that helped him along to the way to a 13-1 record, SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl victory.

On Offense, the Top-5 WR's are gone including D. Washington a projected 1st Round pick. Washington leaves having set 4 school records, including Receiving yards in a career, yards in a season, Receptions in a season and Receptions in a career.

Washington finished this season with 94 rec for 1508 yds and 11 TD's.

The Gators also lose their starting TE, FB, and 2 O-Lineman ( RT A. Pennington who is projected as a 1st Round pick and LG T. Hayward projected to go in the 4th Round) as well as RB #2 J. Stewart who despite getting just 74 carries managed to pickup 494 yds and score 8 TD's making him a projected 7th round pick.

On Defense, the Gators loose their entire Linebacking core of starters, as well as both All-American Safeties. SS K. Jack and JR FS M.Bonner.

Bonner is forgoing his Senior season after being told he is a 4th-5th Round pick. Bonner had 52 Tackles and 3 INT's this season.


All-American Kicker Eric Martin (21/22 FG's) also leaving. A 4 year starter, Martin kicked 69/83 FG's. (83%) with a career long of 53 yds and had 63 Touchbacks.

Projected LT Chris Moore is transfering to Auburn

Freshman Chris Moore has declared his intentions to transfer to Auburn after Redshirting this past season. Moore was projected to slide into the LT spot with last year's starter moving to the rightside to replace Pennington.

Moore rated a 78 Overall was 6'6 318 lbs and was from Fultondale Alabama.

RAM'S REBUILD STARTS NOW!!

The Colorado Rams say goodbye to 14 Seniors including 10 Starters (5 Defensive, 4 Offensive, 1 Special Team)

SR QB A. Clayton leaves CSU with 4 school 4 records including 78 TD's in a career, 7 TD's in a game, 32 TD's in a season and 8441 yd in a career.

Those #'s would've been even better had Clayton not missed 10 games of his Junior season. Clayton also rushed for 1744 yds with 25 scores on the ground through his career.

Listed at 5'11 and 186lbs, Clayton's playing days appear to be over as the NFL combine has him not projected in the 7 round draft.

Joining Clayton leaving is starting center S. White (88 OVR), WR B. Davis (41 rec 595 yds 7 TD) and WR D. Flanagan who had a breakout season (97 rec 1428 yds 10 TD) and is projected as a 6th round draft pick.

PK Phil Love was a 4 year starter connecting on 48/72 FG's (67%) over his career including a career long 55 yds last season. He also tallied 76 Touchbacks and hit 99% of his PAT.

Losing 5 starters off a Defense is tough but it's even tougher when 4 of them are legit NFL prospects.

CB D. Callahan (94 OVR) is projected as a high 1st Round pick after winning the Bednarik and and Thorpe awards as a Junior. He leaves CSU with 11 career INT's, and 21 Pass Deflections.

LOLB B. Williams (89 OVR) is projected as a 3rd Round pick after posting 143 career solo tackles, 48 TFL, 113 Assisted Tackles, 10 sacks, and 12 Pass Deflections.

ROLB J. Lawrence (86 OVR) is projected as a 6th Round pick. Lawerence was voted the Best LB in the nation last year and leaves CSU with 125 Solo tackles, 30 TFL, 75 assisted, 8 sacks, 3 INT, 15 Pass Deflections and 4 FF.

FS K. Richwalksi (90 OVR) is projected as a 7th Round pick. Richwalksi's best season was this year as he posted 3 INT and 7 Pass Deflections.

RAMS LAND TOP-10 CLASS

Kirby Moore's 1st year as the fulltime recruiter has paid off bigtime as he has followed in his footsteps bringing bigtime talent to Fort Collins as he lands 21 Recruits including 2-5*, 5-4* 11-3* and 3-2* Recuits landing the class at #9 Overall

5* Willie Hayes (77 Overall/76 SPARQ) is a Athlete out of Sylvaina Ohio and comes in as the highest rated recruit (#30 Overall). Listed at 6'3 230lbs, Hayes future looks to be at WR, and with the graduation of 2 starters, he could see plenty of balls coming his way next season.

5* Shaun Richard (79 Overall/78 SPARQ) is a RB out of Blackwell Oklahoma. Ranked #31 Overall, Richard turned down a scholarship offer from UCLA and was being heavily recruited by Clemson, Ohio State and Texas.

Listed at 6'0 213 lbs, Richard has the potential to be a everydown back, but with SO Cedric Hayes handling the load most of this season, there is a chance Richard's will redshirt next season so that he can be a 3 year starter.

4* Austin Wilson (71 Overall/71 SPARQ) is a Athlete out of Boulder Colorado. Listed a 6'3 242lbs, Wilson has the size and speed to be a very solid WR or TE in the Ram's Offense moving forward. Ranked #70 Overall, Wilson is the 3rd Top-100 prospect to join this class.

GATORS LAND #2 OVERALL CLASS!!

Kellen Moore's rebuild in Gainesville looks to be on the fast track. Coming off a 13-1 season, SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl win, Moore lost 20 players, however that # was replaced by the signing of 21 players including 5-5* prosects, 7-4* prospects and 9-3* prospects.

The list includes 8 players listed in the Top-100 of the class. Here is a look at some of those players.

#9 Overall- 5* James Duncan is a 6'2 221lb Athlete from Tallassee Alabama. With 5 of the Gators 6 WR's on last year's roster gone to graduation it appears Duncan's future is as a pass catcher. Duncan is listed as a 70 Overall (with Bust status) but has a 84.30 SPARQ rating.

#15 Overall-5* Alvin Baker was the #1 TE recuit in the nation. Originally from Edgewater Florida, Baker is projected to be a instant starter next season. Baker also received Bust status after scouting as he dropped from a 76 Overall to a 70, to go with his 71 SPARQ Rating.

#21 Overall-5* Justin Sellers is a 6'2 189lb Athlete out of Brinkley Arkansas. Rated as a 77 Overall with a 76 SPARQ rating,Sellers turned down scholarship offers from Michigan and Ohio State. Sellers a 2 way starter in high school is projected to move to DB at the college level, but could also see some action as a kick and punt returner.

Joining Duncan and Sellers are another pair of 5* Athletes. #25 Overall Marshall Robinson and #26 Overall Joey Harrell Both players are rated with 77 Overall Potential. Harrell had a 78 SPARQ score well Robinson was a 71.

At 6'0 242 lbs, it looks like Robinson's future is probably on the Defensive side of the ball, well Harrell comes in a 6'0 211lbs and appears to be joining Duncan as a WR next season.

#46 Overall-4* Darren Brown was the #5 WR in this year's class. Listed at 6'3 210lbs out of Casselberry Florida, Brown comes in as a 74 Overall with a 76 SPARQ rating.

Well the 5 players ranked ahead of him are all great players, the player that probably has Coach K-Moore most excited about is #62 Overall/4* QB Matt James.

James was the #3 QB in this year's class behind #19/5* J. Swann (Arkansas) and #23/5* T. Samuel (Air Force, originally from Oregon).

Listed at 6'2 190lbs, James comes in a with a 79 Overall Rating and 73 SPARQ score. Originally from Cander-McAfee Georgia, James turned down offers from Georgia and Georgia Tech as well as Florida State.

With the struggles that both L. West and D. Campbell had this season with INT's. All eyes will be on James to see if he can come out and win the starting job next season.

Rounding out the Gators Top-100 signings is #66 Overall-4* RB Corey Dawson.. The #8 RB in the class, Dawson comes in Rated as a 74 Overall and with a 78 SPARQ rating. With K. Anderson and D. Lloyd returning for their Senior season, odds are Dawson will redshirt this year so that he will have the ability to be a potential 4 year starter.

I don't think I will ever actually schedule a game against one another, and just leave it up to the fate of the polls should they find their way in a matchup together.

Both coaches had offers from other schools, but there is only 1 school Kellen will ever leave Florida for before at least winning some National Titles and that's Boise State.

Kirby on the other hand, could and probably would at some point make a jump back to a Pac-12 or MWC program or maybe take on a rebuilding project at a school that has a history of past success that has fallen on tough times. But at this point it would have to be a pretty tempting job, honestly for me maybe a school like Washington State, or hate to say it maybe even Oregon. Boise State and Washington have pretty much owned the MWC since my dynasty started and the Pac-12 has been pretty much UCLA and Stanford. So maybe get USC back to be a national power.

COLORADO STATE PREVIEW


NEW FACES!!

The Colorado State Ram's are coming off back to back Big 12 titles and Fiesta Bowl wins and are loaded with the #9 Overall Recruiting Class. One would think Coach Kirby Moore is primed and ready to go in making it #3, however one major change to the Ram's program will be at Offensive and Defensive Coordinator.

Former Ram great and NFL linebacker Joey Porter had been running the Defense for the past 3 years, but Porter decided it was finally time to run his own team and jumped ship this off-season to take the HC job at Duke.

Last season when Kirby was promoted from OC to HC at CSU this first hire was that of former Hawaii QB and OC Nick Rolovich, but like Porter, Rolovich decided he wanted to call all the shots and took the HC job at Louisville in the ACC.


To replace Rolovich, Kirby reached out to former UTSA HC Frank Wilson and to replace Porter, Moore has hired former FSU DC Charles Kelly.

RAMS PICKED TO START THE YEAR #7

Th Rams will start the year in the Top-10 as the Poll's are released and announce the Ram's at #7, now the question is will they survive their 1 loss this season and have a chance to climb to one of the Top-2 spots or are they destine for something different.

CSU will start out the year just like they have for the past 3, playing instate rival Colorado on a neutral field in Mile High.

The Ram's will then travel to #22 Washington, where Coach Kirby Moore will face off for the 1st time as a HC against his former HC.

The Ram's then follow up that road game with a trip to Missouri, before finally playing their home opener vs TCU in Week 4.

CSU will then play @ #14 Oklahoma, home vs Wyoming and Iowa before heading to L.A. to take on #15 USC in a non-conference matchup.

The Ram's Week 9 through 13 looks very similar to last season as CSU plays Iowa State, @ Air Force, vs Oklahoma State, and @ Tulsa to close out the sesaon.

THE ROSTER

*(Starters)

*QB JR Jakari Mangum (90 OVR)
Picked as a preseason Big 12 2nd-Team All-American, Mangum will look to pickup from where he left off as a true freshman starting 10 games for the injuried A. Clayton. Mangum passed for a school record 3699 yds with 28 TD's and 20 INT's. Last season he saw limited playing time as Clayton stayed healthy all year completing 23/34 pass's for 310 yds with 4 TD and 1 INT.
QB RS SO Brian Carter (86 OVR)
A former 4* Recruit, Carter was a late arrival to Fort Collins 2 years ago, as Mangum beat him out for the backup job their freshman season. Carter joined the active roster last year but served as the #3 and never saw the field. A much better runner then Mangum don't be surprised if Carter see some action in wildcat and goaline situtations, as he is also listed as the #4 RB on the depth chart.

QB RS JR Andre Heffner (78 OVR)
A local 3* Recruit, Heffner was passed over by the more highly rated Mangum and Carter, but he has the skill set to be a serviceable QB if called upon.

QB FR Eddie Banks (69 OVR)
A 3* Recruit from Marysville WA, Banks is a running QB with 82 SPD who will redshirt in hopes of maybe moving up to a backup role in a couple of years.

*RB JR Cedric Hayes (89 OVR)
Hayes had 67 carries for 278 yds and 3 scores as the #2 his Freshman season. Last year as the fulltime starter he carried the ball 211 times for 834 yds with 12 TD's despite finishing #2 in rushing behind Clayton. It would not shock me to see Hayes take even a bigger role this year in the ground game as Mangum is more of a pocket style QB. Hayes should easily top 1000 yds rushing and see double digits scores again.

RB RS SR David Nelson (83 OVR)
Nelson has quietly worked his way up the depth chart and now will be the primary backup this season after rushing 21 times for 160 yds (7.6 Avg) last season with 1 TD. Nelson is also the #2 KR/PR.

RB RS FR Justin Espinosa (73 OVR)
Originally recruited as a WR, Espinosa moves to the backfield this season to provide depth. He redshirted last year.

RB FR Shaun Richard (79 OVR)
A 5* Recruit and a major reason why the Ram's were ranked #9 in the country. Richard will redshirt this season and likely take over the #2 role next year from Nelson or potentially the starting role if Hayes turns pro early.

*FB RS SR Matt Terry (82 OVR)
The converted O-Lineman will once again start at FB, after making the switch 2 years ago. Listed at 6'0 278lbs, Terry is a beast of a blocker, but over the past 2 seasons has on recorded 6 carries

FB SO Kevin Gibson (68 OVR)
The former 2* Recruit from Kaplama Hawaii was active last season but didn't see any acition.

FB FR Chris Stephens (69 OVR)
A 2* Recruit from Kathleen Flordia, Stephens will redshirt this season and battle Gibson for the starting job next year.

*WR JR Walter Matthew (89 OVR)
Named to the Big 12 1st Team Pre-season All-American. Matthews has 88 career rec for 1305 yds and 16 TD's inlcuding 10 last season as the #3. Now the #1, expect Matthews to put up Baker/Flanagan type #'s (100 rec 1000 yds double digit scores)

*WR RS JR Brett Jackson (83 OVR)
Jackson has been buried on the depth chart since arriving in Fort Collins, but now with 5 WR's graduating he is trust into the #2 role as the Ram's will look to take advantage of his 6'6 height in the redzone.

WR SR Adrian Tidwell (86 OVR)
A JC transfer last year, Tidwell spent the year as the #4 on the depth chart and finished with 28 rec for 390 yds and 1 Score. He will now move into the slot role replacing Matthews so expect his #'s to double.

WR RS FR Ryan Lewis (82 OVR)
The former 4* Recuit is coming off his redshirt season. He will line up as this year's #4.

WR FR Willie Hayes (77 OVR)
The 5* Athelete turned WR, will not redshirt this year and will be the teams #5 WR

WR FR Marcus Brown (73 OVR)
A 4* Athtlete turned WR. Brown will also not redshirt and will provide depth as the #6.

WR FR Aaron Grimes (75 OVR)
A 4* Recruit who will redshirt this season.

FLORIDA GATORS PREVIEW

The Florida Gators are coming off their 1st SEC Championship and major bowl win since 2008, and are loaded with the talent to make a run once again, but like his little brother in Fort Collins, Coach Kellen Moore will have to make that run without a key member of his staff. OC Doug Nussmeier has left Florida to take the HC for the Utah Utes.

Replacing Nussmeier in Gainesville will be longtime assistant coach Eddie Gran. Gran has coached at Ole Miss,Auburn,Tennessee,and Kentucky as well as been a assistant at Florida State and Cincinnati.

"We are excited to add Eddie to the Gator family. He has coached in the SEC for alot of years and he coached NFL talent. People forget this is only my 3rd year as a HC and only my 6th as a college football coach, so surrounding myself with guy's who have been around and know how to recruit the SEC will be a big boost to me as well"

Well Nussmeier left, DC Geoff Collins stuck around despite having to figure out how he is going to replace his entire Linebacking core.

GATORS PICKED TO FINISH 2ND!!

Last season Florida won the SEC with 1 loss. This year they are projected to finish 2nd and the team picked to win it all is the 1 team that beat them. Georgia started the year 1-5 last year but won their final 8 games of the season including their bowl game. This year the Bulldogs not only are picked to finish the season as SEC Champs, but they are picked to start the year out as the #2 team in the nation, 1 spot ahead of the Gators at #3.

"Lets be real the Top-10 is a great group of schools. Ohio State, Georgia, Us, FSU, Clemson, Texas, CSU, UCLA, LSU and Tennessee. Any of those schools have the talent to be National Champs."

Last year the Gators started the season against #1 Clemson and then had to beat them again in the SEC Championship to make it to the Sugar Bowl. This year they won't face the Tigers until the SEC Championship game unless both teams don't make it, but that doesn't mean the Gators road to repeat won't be met without challenges.

They open the season on the road @ USF in Week 1 before facing FAU at home in Week 2.

Florida then plays @ UCF, @ #10 Tennessee, home vs Kentucky and #9 LSU followed by road games @ Vanderbilt and #23 Miami FL, before their rematch with #2 Georgia on Halloween inside the Georgia Dome.

The Gators then close out the regular season with 3 straight home games vs South Carolina, FIU and #4 Florida State.

TEAM ROSTER PREVIEW

Last season the Gators struggled at times with the Quarterback play, but it appears the Top-3 spots will be the same this year. JR Lawrence West (95 OVR) returns as the starter after spring practices. West will look to improve on his 146.5 QB rating in which he only completed 60% of his pass's for 2581 yds with 20 TD's and 18 INT.

SO Tim Campbell (89 OVR) will be the #2. Last season as a true freshman Campbell saw plenty of action completing 77/131 passes (58%) for 1363 yds with 13 TD's but also threw 16 INT's.

RS JR Matt Ward (77 OVR) will return as the #3, Ward saw limited action last year completing 3/6 pass's for 65 yds.

FR Matt James (79 OVR) the #3 QB Recruit in the nation and a 4* prospect, will sit out this season after failing to win the starting job.

RUNNINGBACK
If their is a position the Gators are loaded at it's Tailback. All-American and Heisman hopeful Karem Anderson (95 OVR) returns for his senior season looking to add his name to more school records as he looks to improve on 368 carries 1714 yds and 22 TD's. last season.

Joining Anderson in the backfield will be fellow SR Dustin Llloyd (95 OVR) another All-American and National Award winner. Lloyd saw limited action out of the backfield last season logging just 46 carries for 247 yds (5.4 avg) but did manage to score 5 times as well as lead the nation with almost 2000 return yards and 2 scores including a school record 104 yd return.

RS FR Dionte McCullough (81 OVR) will join the rotation of backs as the #3.

Former 5*ATH Recruit Lawrence Patterson (76 OVR) and 4* RB Recruit Corey Dawson (74 OVR) will both redshirt looking to challenge McCullough for the starting job next season.

RS SR Kevin O'Conner (81) will start at FB this season, well RS JR Heath Nash (49 OVR) provides some depth.

RS SO Ryan Thompson (89 OVR) will look to take over the #1 WR role. Thompson had 19 rec for 267 yds and 3 TD as a true freshman before sitting out last season. At 6'3 214lbs Thompson has the size and speed NFL scouts are looking for.

RS FR Jim Glover (80 OVR) appears to have the inside track as the #2, well fellow RS FR David Rivero (80 OVR) appears to have won the slot role.

5* Joey Harrell (76 OVR) will indeed transition to WR and will start the year as the #4. Fellow FR's Marcus Johnson (75 OVR) and Darren Brown (74 OVR) will provide depth as the #5 and #6.

The Gators top recruit (#9 Overall) Jake Duncan (70 OVR) will redshirt, but will need to show something big if he has any chance at moving up the depth chart next season.

FR Alvin Baker (70 OVR) will take over as the starting TE in a offense that typically see's alot of action.. RS JR Graham Horne (70 OVR) will be the be the #2

RS JR B. Bryant (91 OVR) will start at LT, Fellow RS JR L. Galloway (76 OVR) will be the primary backup at all 5 spots on the line.

JR J. McGee (89 OVR), RS SR V. Cooper (85 OVR) will be the starters at CB, well RS SR A. Nicholson (84 OVR) will be the nickle back. FR J. Sellers (77 OVR) will provide depth and help with the return game. RS FR C. Jones (67 OVR) provides depth at CB.

All-American's RS SR D. Woods (92 OVR) will start at FS taking over for Bonner who left a year early to join the NFL draft and SR J. Bolden (93 OVR) will start at SS. Bolden let the team in INT's last season with 4.

RAMS CONTINUE TO DOMINATE BUFFS!!

GAME RECAP

Despite playing with a new QB and a new Offensive Coordinator the CSU Offense came to play in Week 1 as they put up 50+ points in a dominating win.

The Ram's kicked things off with a bang on the opening drive as M. Rodgers takes the opening kick 98 yds to the house to put CSU up (7-0).

Colorado would answer back using 13 plays to go 80 yds capped off by a C. Brown QB keeper to tie the game (7-7).

CSU would take the lead with 1:15 to play in the 1st Quarter as S. Davis connects on a 49 yd FG to make it (10-7).

The 2nd Quarter was almost all Ram's. QB J. Mangum making his first start since his freshman season, completes a 33 yd bomb to W. Matthews to make it (17-7), then RB C. Hayes scores the first of 2 TD's in the Quarter with a 3 yd direct snap from the wildcat to make it (24-7). WR W. Matthews then added his 2nd score as he takes the handoff from Hayes on a end around to score from 5 yds out making it (31-7) with 2 minutes to play in the half. After a quick 4 and out CSU wasted little time adding to their lead as Hayes once again takes the snap from behind center out of the Wildcat this time breaking off a 50 yd run for the score to make it (38-7) with 1:02 to play.

Colorado however would show they were not going to just give up and lie down, as RB L. Davis breaks a huge 88 yd run to make it (38-14) as we head into the half.

After another forced punt, Hayes went right back to work dominating the Buff's Defense as he scores his 3rd TD of the game on a 2 yd dive play making it (45-14). The Buffs answer back with L. Davis yet again as he score from 3 yds out to make it (45-21), but CSU goes back to the well yet again as C. Hayes breaks off a huge 56 yd run making it (52-21) with 2:30 to play in the 3rd..

With the ground game dominating producing 269 yds on the ground, the Ram's had little need to go to the air, but Mangum wanted to show he could make plays too as he connects with W. Matthews for yet another TD in the 4th.

GAME RECAP

Like Colorado State, the Florida Gators offense exploded under the play calling of new OC Eddie Gran, after a very slow start.

The Gators opened the 1st Quarter of play with the ball but QB L. West quickly throws a INT that sets up a USF score as QB J. Gunn finds J. Pearson from 21 yds out. (7-0)

Then INT #2 leads to yet another TD Pass, as Gunn finds R. Woodward on a 12 yd strike to make it (14-0).

Florida finally gets on the scoreboard early in the 2nd Quarter as RB Karem Anderson scores from 1 yd out to make it (14-7).

USF answers back with a rushing TD of their own to make it (21-7), but then the Gators fire off 3 straight scores as West connects with WR R. Thompson on a 75 play action bomb to make it (21-14), then RB D. Lloyd ties the game (21-21) before Anderson scores his 2nd TD of the day on a 1 yd run with 32 seconds in the half making it (28-21).

USF opens the 2nd half with a FG (27 yds) to make it (28-24), but another Anderson TD (4 yd out) makes it (35-24)) with 3:20 to play in the 3rd.

USF continued to fight back making it (35-31) with 1:22 to play as Gunn fires off this 3rd TD pass of the day (6 yds to J. Pearson), but Dustin Lloyd shows why he is one of the best returnman in the NCAA as he takes the kickoff 92 yds for the score (42-31) as we head to the 4th.

The Gators were unstoppable in the 4th as Lloyd scores his 3rd TD of the game on a 4 yd run (49-31), and then 4 minutes later West finds R. Thompson on a 5 yd strike to make it (56-31) with 2:16 to play in the game.

After a failed 4th down conversion, the Gators take over yet again as West heads to the sideline with backup QB T. Campbell taking the last of the snaps. A big 15 yd run by RB D. McCullough ups the Gators in FG range with under a minute to play, but Campbell takes the snap and fires a 1st down strike to Thompson for 7yd. After another McCullough run leaving 30 seconds to play, Campbell hits Thompson again as the Redshirt Sophomore takes the pass 18 yds for the score.

WEEK 1 RECAP

Week 1 offered more then just the Moore Brothers showing their teams can score lots of points in a hurry.


It also offered several Top-25 showdowns including #1 Ohio State taking on #14 Oklahoma.

The Buckeyes continue their winning streak moving to 15 straight beating the Sooners (38-28) in Norman. Oklahoma falls #15 in the loss.

#2 Georgia survives a scare from UCF as they beat the Knights (44-30).

#4 Florida State defeats Nicholas State (28-7) in a FCS matchup.

#5 Clemson goes on the road to beat Cal (35-14)

#6 Texas falls to #18 Auburn on the road (38-24). With the loss the Longhorns fall to #13 well the Tigers move up to #14? Go figure.. CSU moves up 1 spot to #6 from #7 with their big win over Colorado

#8 UCLA moves up a spot after beating #16 TAMU (34-17)

#9 LSU does the same with their (42-19) win over Montana (FCS NW)

#10 Tennessee also moves up 1 after beating #17 Army (31-13). With the loss the Black Knights drop to #21

#11 Georgia Tech movers up 1 to join the Top-10 with their (52-14) win over Wake Forest.
