    MWC TITLE STILL THE GOAL!!

Despite back to back loss's including their 1st MWC loss of the year, the Boise State Broncos still have a chance to win the Mountain Division and a MWC title which would make them Rose Bowl bound, after picking up 3 straight conference wins, including 2 more on "The Blue". BSU currently owns the 4th longest win streak at 8 games behind Ohio State (22) UCLA (13) and K-State (11), with Albertsons "Bronco" Stadium the #13 Toughest place to play in the nation.

Here is a recap of the past 3 games.

    @ (2-3) UTAH STATE

After back to back loss's the Broncos need a big win and they got it in Logan defeating the Aggies by 4 scores..

Boise State led a the half (31-14) with a balance attack of offense. The Broncos extended the lead to (44-14) in the 3rd as QB Luke Collins throws his 3rd and 4th TD of the game, well finishing the game with zero turnovers. Utah State would score a late TD but by then it was to late to little. FINAL SCORE BSU-44 USU-21

QB L. Collins finished the day 23/34 for 427 yds with 4 TD's in the air and added another 49 yds and a score on the ground.

    J. Carter also had a huge day leading the team with 10 rec for 233 yds and 2 scores.

    VS (2-4) WYOMING

The Cowboys came into the game coming off a very disappointing (45-14) loss at home to #2 Washington, but the defense didn't fair any better against the Broncos.

Boise State would explode for 5 TD's in the 1st half including 4 in the 2nd quarter after being tied (7-7).

QB Luke Collins showed off why he was pre-season Heisman talk as he throws for 4 TD's and runs for another to give BSU the (35-7) lead at the half.

BSU would extend the lead to (45-10) going into the 4th, but Wyoming would add 2 late TD's before the final horn. FINAL SCORE BSU-45 WYOMING-24

QB L. Collins finished the game 18/29 for 308 yds and 4 TD's in the air, well adding 32 yds and 1 score on the ground.

    RB's R. Parrish (20 carries 119 yds 1 TD) and A. Mattison (13 carries 77 yds)
also have a solid day on the ground.

    J. Carter continues to put up school record breaking type #'s as he finishes with 9 rec for 153 yds and 3 TD. TE N. Crabtree had 4 rec for 95 yds and a score.

    VS (4-3) UNLV

The closest of the 3 games, this one was tied going into the 4th Quarter (21-21), but a 33 yd FG by D. Stephens and Collins's 3rd TD pass of the day put's the game out of reach as Boise picks up the victory. FINAL SCORE BSU-31 UNLV-21

QB L. Collins finished 17/32 for just 123 yds with the 3 passing TD's, well also leading the team in rushing with 78 yds and 1 TD.

    A. Mattison (11 carries 75 yds) and R. Parrish (8 carries 51 yds) both had solid days on the ground averaging over 6 yds per carry.

    J. Carter led the team with 7 rec for 49 yds and 1 TD

HUGE TOP-25 UPSET, ONLY 2 UNBEATEN REMAIN!!

The Biggest upset of the season happened in Week 10, as #2 Washington just 1 week before their matchup against the Broncos fall to (27-10) to Idaho. With the loss the Huskies drop from #2 to #13 in the latest poll, and now with 1 Mountain division loss, the door is wipe open for the Broncos to play in a conference title game with a victory over UW next week..

With Washington losing, that leaves just 2 unbeaten teams in the nation UCLA reamains #1 after beating #25 Arizona (34-14) and is a perfect 8-0, leaving their biggest test of the season a Week 13 matchup with #5 (8-1) USC

Kansas State moves into the #2 spot after beating Missouri (28-23) to also move to 8-0 on the year. Like the Bruins, the Wildcats have 1 tough game in their way to perfection though as they travel to Lincoln to face the #23 (7-1) Cornhuskers in Week 13.

BRONCOS EARN WIN OVER COACH PETE AND DIVISIONAL RIVAL!!!

Could the Bronco's be Rose Bowl bound? After suffering 3 straight loss's to their former coach, Boise State scored 3 TD's in the 2nd Quarter to propel them to the win, handing the Huskies their 2nd straight Mountain division loss.

UW led in the 1st Quarter (10-7), but a 10 yd pass from L. Colllins to J. Carter made it (14-10), then 2 minutes later it was Collins keeping it and taking it 52 yds for another scoring (21-10) and then with 1:44 to play in the half it was J. Carter finding paydirt, this time taking a punt return 82 yds for the score. (28-10).

BSU would extend the lead to (35-10) in the 3rd as Collins finds M. Lee on a 21 yd strike) and then early in the 4th, D. Stephens would tack on a 27 yd FG to make it (38-10). Washington would answer back though with 2 late TD's but by then it was ball game over. FINAL SCORE BSU-38 UW-24

        KEY PLAYERS

        QB L. Collins-23/39 318 yds 3 TD, 85 yds rushing 1 TD

        WR J. Carter-8 rec 73 yds 1 TD, 1 punt return 82 yds 1 TD

        WR M. Lee-7 rec 169 yds 2 TD

WITH THE WIN THE BRONCOS IMPROVE TO (7-2 OVERALL AND 6'1 IN MWC PLAY). THEY ARE ALSO BACK IN THE TOP-25 @ #21 AS THEY HEAD TO AUBURN TO FACE THE #22 RANKED (6-3) TIGERS

Re: One Moore Time, A Coaching Career on NCAA14

For the past 2 decades, college football fans especially those residing in the state of Idaho, have always wondered how their team could compete on a national level with the likes of Ohio State,Alabama,Clemson and Auburn.

Some of the past Bronco greats never got their chance to find out, but today QB Luke Collins and this 2019 roster would, as #21 Boise State travels to #22 Auburn.

At the start of the year, talk was these 2 teams were among the nation's best. Auburn the defending national champs started the year in the Top-5, but early season loss's @ Miss State and at home vs Toledo knocked the Tigers completely out of the Top-25 and then a Week 11 loss @ #10 Georgia snapped a 6 game win streak that saw them take another hit in the poll's as a 3 loss team.

For Boise State, 3 straight wins to open the year saw them climb as high as #10, but back to back loss's on the road to TCU and BYU also saw them fall completely out of the polls. But now with 4 straight wins including last weeks big win over Washington, the Broncos are back and looking to finish out strong with 3 games to play.

            GAME RECAP

Auburn jumped out to the early (14-0) lead behind a pair of touchdown pass's by W. Barrett including a 72 yd bomb to N. Craig-Myers to open up the game.

Boise would rally back though scoring on a 41 yd Collins QB keeper to make it (14-7). Again Barrett would go to the air hooking up with L. Rice for his 2nd score of the game to make it (21-7) with 7 minutes to play, but a R. Parrish TD run at the 2:22 mark makes it (21-14). A fumble by the Broncos ruin any chance of tie the game before the half, and a Tigers 43 yd FG by J Mills with 10 seconds to play made it (24-14) as both teams headed to the locker room.

Auburn would open up the 2nd half scoring as Barrett finds Craigh-Myers on a 9 yd slant for the score to make it (31-14). But with 3:39 to play in the 3rd, Collins hits T. Armstrong on a 1 yd strike to make it (31-21) as we head into the 4th.

Barrett would open up the 4th with a INT as L. Blair picks off the pass setting up another Bronco score as Collins his M. Lee from 6 yds out. After several 3 and outs by both teams, it was another Barrett INT this time by D. Pierce (who is starting for A. Williams after he was hurt in the UW game) that set up another Bronco score. Down (31-28) with less then 2 minutes to play, Collins connects on 3 of 3 pass's before keeping the ball himself for a 5 yd TD score to make it (35-31), but with 1:31 to play did they leave the Tigers to much time?

Already with 2 INT's in the quarter, the Bronco D was riding the "MO" train and after a incomplete on 1st and 10, D. Miles sacks Barrett for a 9 yd loss to make it 3rd and 19. Another incomplete makes it 4th and 19, as the Tigers are forced to go for it. Miles however is ready and fly's past the RT on a speed rush getting to Barrett before he has any chance to throw.

With the turnover on downs, Boise State is able to use a series of kneel downs to run out the clock as the Tigers use up their last timeout.FINAL SCORE BSU-35 AUBURN-31

            KEY PLAYERS
            QB L. Collins-21/43 239 yds 2 TD, 98 yds rushing 2 TD
            RB A. Mattison-12 carries 70 yds
            RB R. Parrish-8 carries 47 yds 1 TD
            WR J. Carter-9 rec 79 yds
            WR M. Lee-4 rec 90 yd 1 TD

Better play calling and execution by Collins has lead to a winning streak. Auburn was a tougher test, but I just posted the score, and getting ready to post the Oregon one as well.

I am glad Moore stuck around as it is looking like I will be Rose Bowl bound if I can get my revenge against BYU in the MWC title game. Now the question is does he return, as my contract is up, so I have to make a choice. Sign the extension or move on and take a HC job. The BYU came and Bowl game results could sway my decision.

Re: One Moore Time, A Coaching Career on NCAA14

Despite having played just 7 times against each other, the Boise State vs Oregon rivalry has become quite heated among households in Eastern Oregon where many residents find themselves Bronco fans despite living in the state of Oregon.

Well this rivalry might be heated both on the field (L. Blount's punch) and off (me giving my ex boss and members of my church alot of grief), it hasn't been that heated on the scoreboard as Boise State owns a 7-0 record vs the Ducks.

With a spot in the Mountain West Conferece Championship on the line and the Broncos honoring their 8 Seniors, the Ducks had extra motivation to pull off their first "W"

                GAME RECAP

The "MO" train was running both ways in this game. Boise State opened up the scoring with a (14-0) lead in the 1st Quarter as L. Colllins hooks up with J. Carter twice (11 yds and 15 yds). Oregon answers with a pair of their own TD pass's to make it (14-14), but a Collins to Armstrong bomb of 32 yds give BSU the (21-14) lead with 2:44 to play in the half. However Oregon wasn't going away quietly as they connect on a 30 yd FG with 9 seconds to play to make it (21-17) at the half.

The Ducks then opened up the 3rd Quarter with a 3 yd TD run to make it (24-21) and then after a Collins INT, his first in 6 games, the Ducks take the lead as T. Jonsen throws a 47 yd bomb to J. Breeland to make it (31-21) going into the 4th.

Collins would rebound from his INT on his previous series completing a 11 yd TD strike to J. Carter (3rd of the day) to make it (31-28). However after a 3 and out, Collins would throw his 2nd INT of the game giving the ball right back. But another huge stop by the Broncos D gives Collins another chance and this time he delivers. With 2:50 to play Boise State takes the lead as Collins finds M. Lee wide open down the sideline for a 51 yd pitch and catch play that gives the Broncos the lead (35-31).

Senior DE's D. Miles/S. Whitney and DB's L. Blair and E. Tyler lead the Broncos Defense out onto the Blue turf for what could be their last time.

After back to back completions by the Ducks and a 9 yd run by Oregon's B Clemons it was 2nd and 1 less then 2 minutes to play. Despite limited time Oregon didn't seem to be rushing to the line or feel the pressure to make big plays deep. However after a sack by Miles his (NCAA leading) 14th sack of the season, the Ducks were left with a 3rd and 9. A incomplete pass setup 4th and 9. Forced to go for trailing in the game, the Ducks went to the air, but Senior L. Blair was ready. Blair picks off the pass his 2nd in as many games. After back to back 1st down runs, the Ducks were out of timeouts and forced to watch as Collins takes a knee to run out the clock.FINAL SCORE BSU-35 OREGON-31

Yeah he has been on fire, at the pace he is playing he is most likely going to break the single season passing yard school record and looks like Carter is going to break all of Wilson's records with most receptions, yards and maybe TD's in a season and could go down as the record holder for most yards in a career...

Thanks for following and commenting. I have a tough choice at the end of the year. It's either stay resign an extension and continue to be the OC or move on and take a HC job somewhere else and hope that maybe I can return some day to take over for Harsin.

It’s hard to leave an Alma mater, but that’s what must be done to progress in a coaching career. Harsin did it and came back! Lol

Boise fired Petersen (had original coaches in my dynasty) after 2020, good thing they didn’t offer me or it would have been the hardest thing to avoid that job lol

All those INT's killed any chance at the Heisman or even any other national awards, but with a big bowl game (I already have 2 more games to post), it appears he is going to break the school record for most yds in a season.

BRONCOS CLINCH MOUNTAIN DIVISION AND WILL KEEP THE GOVERNORS CUP IN BOISE!!!

Once a very heated instate rivalry, the Broncos vs Vandals matchup has been quite lopsided the past 20 years.

Idaho owned the Broncos in the 80's and 90's winning 15 of 17 games but their last victory came in 1998 with Idaho winning in Overtime (36-35).

Typically one of the worst teams in Div I football, Idaho actually had a decent season this year winning 6 games including that major upset over #2 Washington, making the Vandals bowl eligible.

                            GAME RECAP

The Vandals won the toss and elected to kick, giving the Broncos the first chance at scoring and they did. L. Collins complete 4/4 pass's on the opening drive including a 14 yd strike to TE N. Crabtree for the score (7-0).

Idaho answers back with a touchdown of their own as they keep the ball on the ground with D. Brantley scoring from 3 yds out (7-7).

After that it was all Broncos. BSU would add 2 more scores on the ground with Collins scoring from 8 yds out and Mattison from 4 yd out to make it (21-7).

Then in the 2nd Quarter it's Mattison again from 8 yds out and Collins going back to the air hooking up with T. Armstrong to make it (35-7) at the half.

A Idaho fumble to start the 2nd half sets up a Boise State 32 yd FG (38-7) and then with 2 minutes to play SR RB R. Parrish scores on a 1 yd TD run to make it (45-7).

Boise State wasn't done though, as Parrish scores his 2nd TD of the day. FINAL SCORE BSU-52 IDAHO-7

                              BRONCOS GET THEIR REVENGE!!!

Despite winning just 5 games this season, BYU made the most of them going 4-1 in the West Division to clinch a spot in the Championship game vs the Broncos.

Boise not forgetting their Week 7 loss to the Cougars however came out on fire as they looked for revenge and that coveted spot in the Rose Bowl.

                              GAME RECAP

Luke Collins made the Cougars secondary look silly in the 1st Quarter completing 10 of his first 12 pass's including a TD strike to J. Carter (11 yds) and a TD bomb to N. Crabtree (48 yds). D. Stephens would miss just his 2nd PAT of his career to make it (13-0) going into the 2nd Quarter.

Stephens would get chance at redemption in the 2nd Quarter though kicking FG's from 35 yds out and 30 yds out well Collins added his 3rd TD toss finding J. Carter in the endzone from 20 yds out to make it (26-0), but BYU would answer back with a 25 yd FG and 47 yd TD bomb from B. Hodge to B. Tanner to make it (26-10) at the half.

BYU would open the 2nd half with the ball, but a Cougar fumble and 55 yd TD return by the Defense would make it (33-10). BYU would rebound with a Hodge to Ivy TD from 1 yd out after a 84 yd scoring drive to make it (33-17). Then the Cougars D would step up forcing a 3rd Stephens FG (20 yds) to make it (36-17). However that score would change 4 seconds later as B. Tanner returns the kickoff 90 yds for the score making it (36-24) as we go into the 4th.

Stephen's 4th FG of the day (43 yds) makes it (39-24) to open the 4th Quarter scoring, after a 3 and out by the Cougars it was Collins to Carter for their 3rd hookup of the day to make it (46-24) with 7 minutes to play.

BYU would manage to put points on the scoreboard with 2:21 to play on a 41 yd FG by J. Baird to make it (43-27). After a failed onside kick. Coach Harsin/Moore called a timeout.

Normally with just over 2 minutes to play and a 16 point lead most teams would just run out the clock with the ground game, but Moore and Collins were not done showcasing the passing game, as the JR QB throws his 5th TD of the day as he finds backup TE C. Curry from 10 yds out..FINAL SCORE BSU-53 BYU-17

USC TO PLAY FLORIDA STATE FOR NATIONAL TITLE!!

                                USC
A Week 13 defeat of #1 UCLA (42-16) followed by a shutout win over rival Notre Dame (36-0) in Week 14 and a (28-26) win over Arizona State in the Pac-12 title game helps the Trojans (12-2) climb to #2 in the nation to secure their shot at the title.

                                FLORIDA STATE

For the Seminoles it was their Week 14 victory over instate rival Florida (42-28) and a (41-14) win over Georgia in the SEC Championship game that left them the #1 team in the country with a 13-1 record.

                                KANSAS STATE
For 12 weeks the Wildcats were undefeated and sitting #2 in the nation, but a Week 13 loss to Nebraska ended K-State's chance to a National Title as they drop to #4. A rebound win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 title game (38-23) however does at least secure them a spot in the Fiesta Bowl as they take on #8 Texas who defeated TCU (27-24) to win the American Conference.

                                UCLA

Last season, UCLA played for a National Title despite not winning the Pac-12 title. Lighting doesn't strike twice though in the same spot. Or so it's been said. The Week 13 loss to USC dropped the Bruins to #3 in the poll and that's where they stayed. With FSU playing in the National title game, the Bruins received the at-large spot to face #10 LSU in the Sugar Bowl. The Tigers defeated Alabama (35-28) in the Sun Belt Championship to earn the automatic bid.

                                OHIO STATE
For the 2nd straight year, Ohio State has failed to win the Big Ten title, as they fall (28-27) to Wisconsin. However a 11-2 record still gets them the #7 BCS ranking and a spot to face Boise State in the Rose Bowl. With Big Ten title, Wisconsin finishes the year 11-2 and #5 in the nation. and is headed to the Orange Bowl.

                                NORTH CAROLINA

Normally known as a ACC basketball power, the Tar Heels showed they can play on the gridiron as well, going 11-2 including a win over Virginia (27-10) to win the ACC title and secure the automatic bid to the Orange bowl.

                                CUSA
Despite no ties to BCS Bowl games, it's worth noting that Tennessee has won the CUSA title with a (38-22) win over Navy.

                                MAC
Like CUSA, the MAC Champion sometimes goes unnoticed. Last year Cincinnati won it going undefeated and finishing the year in the Top-10, but was the year of the Bobcat as Ohio defeats C. Michigan (26-7) to win the title.
