Re: One Moore Time, A Coaching Career on NCAA14

Win or lose in the Rose Bowl, despite 2 loss's the 2019 season will still go down as one of Boise State's best seasons.

JR QB L. Collins started the year in the Heisman Top-5 talk, but 11 INT's over 3 games quickly put a stop to those talks. However with 4150 yds (school record) and 40 TD's in the air and 687 yds and 7 TD's on the ground heading into the bowl game, there are still talks about whether or not he returns for his Senior season.

With a solid performance in the game, Collins will most likely finish the year as the nation's passing yds leader and if he can throw 3 TD's he will tie Kellen Moore's 43 TD's in a season record.

(I do find it sorta insulting that Collins didn't even finish in the Top-10 for the Maxwell or O'Brien.)

JR RB A. Mattison has finally had his breakout season rushing for over 1000 yds, as he continues the Broncos strong tradition of featured backs. Now the question is will he repeat it and follow in the footsteps of D. Martin and J. Ayjai to the NFL or will be be another Ian Johnson,B. Forsey, DJ Harper?

JR WR J. Carter will leave Boise State next season as one of the best WR to ever play at the school. Going into the bowl game he already has amassed 105 rec for 1657 yds with 18 TD's Those #'s have already secured him the Biletnikoff award

Well the Offense gets all the notice, we can't talk about the 2019 season's success without mentioning SR DE D. Miles.

Miles has put together the best season Bronco fans have seen since D. Wing in 1996 (school record holder for sacks, with 20).

But Bronco fans are not the only one's to have taken notice as Miles dominates post season awards with his 30 TFL and 14 Sacks, Miles was named the Bednarik,Nagurski, and Lombardi winner.

BRONCOS VS BUCKEYES FOR THE ROSES!!!

Despite both teams entering with 2 loss's, and despite having the nation's #1 passing attack, not a single sports writer has given #13 Boise State much chance to beat #7 Ohio State in this year's Rose Bowl matchup.

      Coach Moore
"It's okay though because everyone knows we play better in the underdog role. Despite win's over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl and even last year's win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl, we will always be viewed as a team that doesn't deserve to be talked about when it comes to being one of the nation's best"

      GAME RECAP
Boise State won the toss and elected to kick and Ohio State answers as they quickly put 7 on the scoreboard with a J. Burrow 1 yd TD toss to D. McCall (7-0) Then after a Collins INT, OSU put's 3 more with a 43 yd FG to make it (10-7). But with 49 seconds to play in the opening quarter, Collins finds #5 WR Bubba Ogebobor on a 6 yd slant to make it (10-7).

The Buckeyes would open up the 2nd Quarter with a scoring drive as M. Weber JR takes it in from 9 yds out to make it (17-7), but the Broncos answer as D. Stephens connects on a 22 yd FG to make it (17-10) and then with 21 seconds to play in the half it's Collins to Mattison from 2 yds out to tie the game (17-17)

BSU would open the 2nd half with the ball but the offensive drive is stalled as D. Stephens kicks a 26 yd FG to give the Broncos the lead. After a defensive stop the Broncos add 3 more as Stephens this time connects from 23 yds out to make it (23-17), but with 1:08 to play in the 3rd, OSU retakes the lead as Burrow connects with K. HIll on a 39 yd bomb to make it (24-23) as we head into the 4th.

Boise State opens the 4th quarter scoring as Collins finds J. Carter on a 10 yd strike. Up by 5, (29-24) BSU tries to go for 2, but the conversion fails.

With a chance to retake the lead though, Ohio State's offense stalls and they they are forced to punt with 5 minutes to play. With a 5 point lead, BSU goes to the ground game as they look to run off some clock and the strategy pays off as R. Parrish finishes off a 78 yd 3 minute drive with a 4 yd score to make it (36-24).

With a 2 score lead and just under 2 minutes to play it appeared the game was over, but Ohio State wasn't ready to give up and with 47 seconds to play they find paydirt making it (36-31). However with just 1 timeout they would need to secure the onside kick for any chance of a win.

With their hands team out there, J. Carter comes up big securing the ball and the victory..FINAL SCORE BSU-36 OSU-31

      KEY PLAYERES
QB L. Collins-25/35 252 yds 3 TD 1 INT, 69 yds rushing (Ties Moore's single season TD record at 43)

WR-J. Carter-10 rec 148 yds 1 TD (Becomes school record holder with 115 rec in a season and yards in a season with 1805, his 19 TD's ties A. Butlers school record from last season)

WR M. Lee- 1 rec 10 yds (well this might not seem like a big deal, it gave him 1005 yds for the season.)

Congrats on the Rose Bowl victory to finish off the season in style, tight game but it always was going to be. Let's see what Collins decides to do, if he comes back might just shatter some of them records and a chance at the Heisman.

Thanks. Well playing and winning in blowouts can be fun, I actually enjoy the close ones so much more ,unless it's BYU or Idaho those 2 teams are just fun to destroy.

I can say 100% that Collins returns, now the only question is does K-Moore. Right now I am going to say it's only about 10% chance he does, as 1 school has really taken a big lead in the decision to leave.

FORT COLLINS WELCOMES FORMER RIVAL TO TOWN!!

Fresh off helping guide the Boise State Broncos to a 2019 Rose Bowl victory, Former Bronco great Kellen Moore has turned down a 4 year contract extension to stay as the Boise State OC, and instead will be taking over a Rams program that is coming off a 2-10 finish in the Big 12 last season.

              Coach Moore
"Honestly it was tough to leave Boise, Coach Harsin and our team, especially QB Luke Collins, but in the end after talking it over with my family, Coach and even Luke we all agreed this was a good move for me"
The Rams are just 2 years removed from a 9-4 season and Poinsettia Bowl victory, so the roster is not completely void of talent and despite a horrible season, Coach Bobo did actually have a decent recruiting class started, with 13 players.

Kellen would waste little time adding 3 more recruits including the Ram's best Overall Freshman, 4* Offensive Tackle B. Ross (69 Overall) who is projected to start at RT next season.

Overall the Recruiting Class ranked #51 in the nation, which again isn't to bad considering that Boise State's class came in at #44, and Oregon was #56.

              Coach Moore
"Overall I am really excited about our roster going into next season. We will use this spring to sort out starters and position changes, but I really feel like this is a team that can at least compete for 6 wins and become bowl eligible"

              OTHER CHANGES

CSU wasn't the only job that came calling, as Moore turned down offers to Maryland,East Carolina,Ohio and another current MWC rival (Nevada)

Well Moore heading to Fort Collins got alot of the attention, it has to be noted Penn State is looking to get back in the National Title hunt as they tab Zach Taylor as their new HC. Taylor spend last season guiding the Ohio Bobcats to a MAC title and 9-5 Overall record before losing to Alabama in their bowl game.

Kansas State had to find a new HC after Bill Snyder decided to call it a career. Leaving as the #3 team in the nation and with a Fiesta Bowl win is a good way to go out. The Wildcats will hope that Dana Dimel will be able to keep things going. Dimel was K-State's OC last season.

              TEXAS
In this universe Charlie Strong is still the HC at Texas, but he might not be for long after losing both his OC and DC this season coming off a American Conference Championship and loss in the Fiesta Bowl. His OC is now the HC at Maryland after Moore turned them down, well the DC is now the OC at Ohio replacing Taylor who moved on to PSU.

Bubba who? haha I hadn't seen that Wide outs name yet in your dynasty. Congrats on winning the Rose Bowl though and good luck in your new gig!

Bubba Ogbebor is actually a real life name. He signed at Boise State as a WR, but similar to this dynasty he never really climbed the depth chart to put up huge #'s and in real life he actually transfers to Arkansas State.

and thank you. I am looking forward to it.

Kellen Moore announces the 2020 Colorado State Depth Chart.

                    Quarterback

                    Starter-RS SR 6'5 214 lb Collin Hill (89 OVR, 86 THP/92 THP)
"Hill return for this 3rd year as the starter. In 2018 he passed for 1910 yds with 16 TD and 11 INT, then last season he followed it up with 1977 yds but his TD's dipped to 13 well his INT increased to 14"

                    Coach Moore"
Colin will be our starter in Game 1, but I can't say for sure if he will be our starter all year. He will need to play well and show improvement over his previous year's #'s"
Backup- 5'11 184 lb RS SO Anthony Clayton (84 OVR, 86 SPD, 87 THP/81 THA)
"Clayton appears to have a very similar skill set and size as QB that will be starting in Boise this season and it wouldn't shock anyone to see him at least play several series every game as he prepares to take over the starting job next season"

                    Coach Moore
"Clayton definetly doesn't have the size you look for in a QB, and that means something especially coming from me who heard that my entire career, but he has a cannon for a arm and he has something I didn't have and that's speed. I think Luke Collins proved you can be 5'11 and make plays and throw for yards in this game"
                    Redshirt-6'0 198 lb FR Andre Heffner (64 OVR,72 SPD,77 THP/78 THA)
"A 3* recruit from Welby Colorado, Heffner will redshirt this season and look to maybe challenge incoming recruits for a chance to start in 2023"

                    Running Back.

RS JR Cameron Deangelis (82 OVR,92 SPD)
"DeAngelis takes over for 1000 yd rusher M. Kinsley who graduated last year. Last season as the backup DeAngelis carried the ball 97 times for 385 yds (4.0 Avg) and 2 scores"

                    Coach Moore
"At 6'1 221 lbs, Cameron has the size to be a everydown back and with Kinsley carrying the ball 200+ times last season he is going to need to carry that kind of load if we want to balance up the offensive attack"
                    Backup's

RS SR C. Jackson (72 OVR), RS SO T. Gaines (67 OVR) and RS D. Nelson (67 OVR).
"This trio has a combined 3 carries between the 3 of them, so hopefully someone can step up and help carry some of the load. Jackson is a power back at 6'2 230, well Gaines and Nelson provide some speed (91).

                    Fullback

Starter-RS JR Justin Carpenter (68 OVR 74 SPD)
"Carpenter saw limited carries last season (2), but did manage a 6.0 Avg, so maybe he will see some action in the redzone"

Redshirt-6'0 270 lb SO Matt Terry (66 OVR)
"Terry moves from TE to FB and will redshirt as he adjust to his new role. At 270 lbs this kid probably could've made a decent O-lineman as well"

                    Wide Receiver

                    Starter-JR 6'2 Brandon Baker (79 OVR)
"Baker was orginially recruited as a QB, but after spending that last 2 seasons as the #3, he moves to WR where he actually has seen some action catching 17 career passes for 200 yds and 4 TD. With a 82 Catch rating he has the best hands on the team"

                    Starter-RS JR 6'4 Chad Wright (75 OVR)
"Wright was the leading WR last year with 43 catches for 595 yds and 4 TD, He has the size and speed (92) to potentially double those #'s in K-Moore's offense.

                    #3-RS SO 6'6 Ben Davis (74 OVR)
"Davis caught 29 balls last season as a RS FR totaling 323 yds (11.1 avg) with 3 TD's. With a 81 catch rating he has the 2nd best hands on the team. With his size he will be a huge goal line threat"

                    #4-RS SO 6'2 Derek Flanagan (74 OVR)
"Last season he had 16 rec for 238 yds (14.9 Avg) and 1 TD. He doeesn't have great hands (70 catch) and was almost moved to RB (88 carry), leaving some to wonder if he will make that move next year'

                    Backup's
                    RS SO 6'1 M. Robinson (72 OVR), RS SO 6'1 J. Campbell (69 OVR)
"Like Flangan neither one of these guy's have great hands but they will most likely trade off seeing time in 5 WR sets"

Redshirt-6'6 FR Brett Jackson (69 OVR)
" A 4* Recruit from Fontana CA, Jackson is a clone of #3 WR Ben Davis minus the hands (71). Hopefully a redshirt and training session will help improve that"

                    Tight End

                    Starter-RS JR Tom Martin (76 OVR/78 SPD/86 Catch)
"At 6'3 265 lbs with great hands, Martin should shine in the new offensive scheme. He had 37 rec for 470 yds last season but caught just 2 TD"

Backup-RS SO Steve Romero (68 OVR)
"Romero saw limite action as the backup last season recording just 3 rec for 16 yds, but with K-Moore offense using 2 TE often he will have a chance to prove he can play"

                    Redshirt-FR Andrew Francis (68 OVR)
"The former 3* from Beverly Hills CA will Redshirt this year and most likely challenge for a backup role next year before taking over for Martin in 2022"

                    O-Line

                    **Starters**
                    LT-RS JR M. Williams (79 OVR),
                    LG-SR D. Rucker (84 OVR)
                    C- JR K. Dixon (76 OVR)
                    RG-RS SR J. Taylor (93 OVR)
                    RT-RS JR J. Butler (80 OVR)

                    Key Backup-RS JR K. Glover (81 OVR)
"There is actually quite abit of depth on the line as well with 7 other players active this year plus FR B. Ross (69 OVR) the #1 recuit in the 2020 class.

                    D-Line

RS JR T. Fletcher (76 OVR, 75 SPD) and RS SR Arjay Jean (84 OVR/82 SPD) will start at DE, with RS JR M. Brown (75 OVR/68 SPD) as the primary backup. "Jean leads all returning starters with 5.5 sacks and had 18 TFL last season"

RS SR J. Carr (70 OVR), RS SO R. Bennett (69 OVR), RS SO J. Davis (68 OVR) and RS FR J. Conley (67 OVR) will look to battle it out for the starting job probably all season at DT as none have experience. Carr however is 6'6 282 lbs so if anything he should be a decent run stopper.

                    Linebackers

RS SO B. Williams (79 OVR,86 SPD) will start on the Left, last season he had 11 TFL and 55 tackles.

RS SR M. McDonald (86 OVR/82 SPD) takes over as the MLB and is also a key leader to this defense. Last season he had 58 tackles (23 solo, 7 TFL) and forced a fumble he returned for a TD.

RS JR J. Martin (74 OVR/76 SPD) will be the primary backup at all 3 spots

                    Defensive Backs.

SO D. Callahan (82 OVR) takes over as the #1 CB after limited action last year as a true freshman (9 solo tackles, 17 assisted, 3 pass deflections)

JR M. Green (76 OVR) RS SO T. Todd (76 OVR) and RS JR M. Lyles (75 OVR) will batttle it out for the #2-#4 spots as well as backup FS.

                    Punter-SR G. Thomas (94 OVR)
"The highest rated player on the team. A 3 year starter, Thomas has amassed 199 attempts for 8455 yds (42.5 Avg) with a net of 33.5. He has a long of 72 yds and has downed 60 kicks inside the 20."

                      COLORADO STATE ANNOUNCES 2020 SCHEDULE

Colorado State coming off a a 2-10 record will be looking to get bowl eligible for just the 2nd time in the past 6 seasons. However they could have a very tough time doing so. Picked to finish 10th of of the 12 in the Big 12, CSU's schedule includes 3 games vs Pre-Season Top-25 programs including a non-conference matchup on the road with #7 Texas. The Rams also play both of their other non-conference matchups (Washington State and rival Wyoming), meaning that they will play just 4 home games this season.

                      Coach Moore
"I am not sure how this worked out but honestly I don't find it to be fair. We play our final 3 games of the season on the road. When I signed this deal, expectations were making this team bowl eligible and winning 7 games. I think we can do it because there is talent on this team, but I am still not happy with how things worked out"
Here is how the schedule breaks down.

Week 1 vs Colorado "Rocky Mountain Showdown"
                      Week 2-Bye
Week 3-@ Washington State "Return Home"
                      Week 4 vs Missouri
                      Week 5 vs Iowa
                      Week 6 @ #7 Texas
                      Week 7 @ #14 Nebraska
Week 8 @ Wyoming "Border War for the Bronze Boot"
                      Week 9-Bye
                      Week 10 @ Iowa State
Week 11 vs #23 Oklahoma (Senior Day)
                      Week 12 @ Oklahoma State
Week 13 @ Air Force "Battle for the Ram-Falcon trophy"
                      Week 14 @ Tulsa

Re: One Moore Time, A Coaching Career on NCAA14

Last season Boise State QB Luke Collins started the year on the early season Heisman watch list, but a 3 game stretch with 11 INT's quickly shut down any hype as the Junior even failed to make Top-10 list's on any preseason awards despite leading the nation in passing with 4604 yds, rushing for almost 700 yds and scoring a combined 50 TD's.

Despite OC Kellen Moore his #1 fan and a huge reason for his success leaving to take the HC job @ Colorado State, Collins returns for his Senior season and sit's atop this year's Hype list yet again. Question is will he end on it without Moore's leadership and coaching.

One of Collin's biggest competition is Stanford's RS SR KJ Costello. The 6'5 223 lb QB has the NFL body that Collins does not. Last season in his first season as a starter, Costello completed 201/313 pass's for 2926 yds with 32 TD and 8 INT, and despite his size also rushed the ball for 450 yds and 8 scores.

Joining the duo is another talented QB from the westcoast. RS SR Khalil Tate of Arizona also saw his first full season as a starter last season for Arizona, completing 175/322 pass's for 2541 yds with 24 TD and 12 INT, but like Collins and Costello, Tate also makes big plays with his feet, evidence of his 945 yds and 9 TD's rushing last season, making him by far one of the best dual threats in the college game.

Joining the trio of QB's are 2 very talented RB's.

RS SR Omahri Jarrett of Georgia Tech broke out on the scene last season with 281 carries for 1602 yds (5.7 Avg) well scoring 20 TD's for the Yellow Jackets.

RS SR Kareem Walker of Navy has put up back to back monster seasons. In 2018 Walker rushed 299 times for 1766 yds and 17 TD's. He then followed it up last season with 291 carries for 1813 yds and 16 TD. With 590 carries already in his career the question is how much gas is left in the tank.

The National Champs (Florida State) will start the year in the #1 spot, but with 4 matchup's vs Top-25 programs including Week 1 vs #20 South Carolina and rivalry week vs #10 Florida in the Swamp, the Noles could have a very tough time staying there.

UCLA spend 10 weeks in the #1 spot last season after being the runner up in the 2018 season, but finished the year #3 after losing to USC in rivalry week. This year they start #2 but like FSU, they face a very difficult challenge with 3 Top-25 road games @ #25 Arizona, @ #3 Stanford and @ #5 USC in Week 14.

Stanford will start the year #3 and with appears to have a pretty weak schedule till their home game vs the Bruins in Week 9.

Ohio State coming off their Rose Bowl loss to the Broncos will start the year #4. but like FSU they face a very tough schedule to start with home games vs #23 Oklahoma, #15 Wisconsin and #18 Pitt plus a road game against Orange Bowl Champ North Carolina all before Week 7.

The National Champ runner ups (USC) will start the year #5, but with a new QB running the show, the question is can they make it back to the title game. With home games vs #7 Texas (Week 2), #3 Stanford (Week 13) and #2 UCLA (Week 14), they are going to have a very tough time doing so.

Here is a look at the rest of the Top-25

                          #6 Clemson
                          #7 Texas
                          #8 Kansas State
                          #9 LSU
                          #10 Florida
                          #11 Miami
                          #12 Georgia
                          #13 Alabama

                          #17 Tennessee
                          #18 Pitt
                          #19 Minnesota
                          #20 South Carolina
                          #21 USF
                          #22 Boise State
                          #23 Oklahoma
                          #24 Michigan State
                          #25 Arizona

**UNC starts #26, Washington starts #27, Arizona State is #28, Oregon is #29 and Iowa is #30**

***Colorado State starts the year Ranked #119 out of #126***

                          Wyoming is #123

                            RAMS/BUFFALO'S BATTLE INTO OT!!!

Last year Colorado State beat Colorado to kick off the 2019 season in Overtime. Now with Coach Kellen Moore making his Head Coaching debut the Buffalo's were looking for revenge.

Colorado State won the toss and elected to kick, but the offense didn't have to wait long to take the field. CU's SR QB S. Noyer (91 OVR/75 SP) took the 2nd snap of the game 72 yds to the house for the first score of the game (7-0).

If that wasn't enough excitement for this crowd, CSU offered more. On the Ram's firs play of the K-Moore era, QB C. Hill drops back and complete a 72 yd bomb to C. Wright to tie the game (7-7).

The 1st Quarter Offensive fireworks were not done though. Despite a solid defensive effort by CSU on the next series, the Buff's manage to add 3 more points as H. Erwin nails a 45 yd FG to make it (10-7). Then 1 minute and 11 seconds later it's C. Hill finding former QB/converted WR B. Baker on a 6 yd strike to make it (14-10), but it didn't end there as CU scores on a 9 play 81 yd drive with a 2 yd TD run by B. Bisharat to make it (17-14).

The Rams would start where they left off in the 2nd with C. Hill throwing his 3rd TD of the day as he hits Baker again (2 yds) to make it (21-17). Then after a defensive stop it's P. Love drilling a 41 yd FG to make it (24-17) with 6 minutes to play in the half.

Colorado would tie the game with 3:42 to play as C. Jospeh scores on a 1 yd Dive (24-24) and then after a Hill INT it was Joseph again this time from 2 yds out to make it (31-24) with 1:22 to play.

Hill would lead the offense back out looking to get tie things back up, but on 3rd and 12, Hill's pass to the endzone was picked off yet again as the Rams go into the locker room on back to back turnovers.

RS SO A. Clayton would lead the offense out onto the field to start the 2nd half, as the Ram's looked to use the ground game to slow things down and despite only completing 1 pass on the drive CSU would find the endzone as backup RB C. Jackson scores from 1 yd out to tie the game (31-31) with 5 minutes to play. But CU's S. Noyer would show he can also make plays with his arm as he completes a 24 yd bomb to G. Morgan to make it (38-31) as we head into the 4th.

Clayton would stay in the game as he leads the Rams out for their 1st series of the 4th and like Noyer, Clayton would show he too can make plays with his arm as he finds TE T. Martin on a 31 yd strike to tie the game yet again (38-38).

Looking to ride the hot hand, Coach Moore leaves Clayton in the game despite Hills' 3 TD's in the 1st half, but Hill wouldn't have to wait long to get another chance as Clayton is drilled on a sack and is forced to leave the game.

Having not thrown a pass all half Hill looks RB C. DeAngelis to carry the load and DeAngelis delivers scoring his 1st TD of the game from 2 yd out to make it (45-38) with 4 minutes to play.

Wanting a big stop, the Ram's "D" is fired up and they deliver picking of Noyer with 3:22 to play.

After back to back runs by DeAngelis, CSU is faced with a 3rd and 6. Hill still without a pass attempt in the half, and with his last 2 pass's being picked off is hit with as he throws. the pass is batted up in the air and falls into the hands of a defensive lineman. Colorado has given themselves as 2nd chance at tying this game. The Ram's "D" is looking tired as they fail 3 times to stop the Buff's on 3rd down and finally with 30 seconds left, Colorado scores on a 2 yd pass play from backup QB J. Brown to I. Gilmore to tie the game (45-45).

Colorado State would have 1 last chance to win it in regulation. After a 33 yd gain by Hill to Martin, Hill would drop back throwing a huge bomb down field, but the pass was picked off yet again (INT #4). This game was headed to Overtime.

The Rams would win the toss yet again, and elect to play "D" first. Colorado still playing with their backup QB J. Brown takes the field. Complete pass and 1st down, a 4 yd run, a 3 yd run, but then it happens the Ram's "D" steps up and sacks Brown, then forces a incomplete pass. Then after a broken play in which Brown scrambles and gains 8 yds , CU is forced to kick a 19 yd FG. (48-45).

Colorado State takes the field. Hill knows a TD wins the game, a INT loses it. Hills take the 1st snap of the OT period and fires a strike to R. Flanagan in the endzone. Ball game over... But wait the pass is dropped despite Flanagan being wide open. 2nd and 10. Hill again drops back but this time he hands off to DeAngelis who take the ball up the middle for a 12 yd gain and 1st down. After another DeAngelis run, Hill takes the snap fakes the handoff to his RB on a perfect play action fake that sets up a wide open C. Wright in the endzone. The pass is fired. The pass is caught. This ball game is now officially over. FINAL SCORE CSU-51 CU-48

(This game got a ESPN rating of 1045).

Played the WSU game last night, will most likely get in the Missouri game tonight so shouldn't take to long to get to that Texas matchup. They are good. I will get a Top-25 update put up as well, and if your a UT fan you will be happy to know they beat #5 USC in Week 2.
