Very, very, very exciting win! Nice jump on the polls too! Looks like some of the teams ahead of you will knock each other off if you can keep it going. Do Alabama and Florida play?

I think it's going to take quite a bit more than 20 points to beat Florida in the swamp and certainly some scoring in the second half.

Great win! And as special as that game was for the season, you still have to get the guys up for next week! Wow, this is quite the gauntlet! But you’ve handled it well so far. Best of luck going forward!

This version of the game always sets the playbook back to where it should be after you delete the coach, as long as you do one team at a time, and delete after each team you do.

So how do you permanently change playbooks?

Yes, that Tigers loss still stings. My QB at the time, Jamie Manning, lost two games in his entire career, and both losses (2016 at LSU and 2017 in the National Title Game to USC) involved him getting injured very early in the game and not returning. Man that was so long ago; sometimes I can't believe that this story is still going on.
I wish I'd seen the first part of this dynasty. Wowwwwww though! Helluva win this weekend. Such an exciting read. I was thinking about how the CBS broadcast would show the Geezy coaching tree graphic after showing a picture of all the guys together, like they showed the Matthews family tree when A&M and Bama were playing. This universe is so immersive.

There is nothing stopping this train. LSU-Bama looks likely to determine the division. Get the squad rested up this week to continue taking on this schedule.

Side note: do you think you get a realistic number of sacks against you? It seems like you really get walloped sometimes.

Geezy, I've got some catching up to do on here! With college football coming around I feel like the next couple weeks are the perfect time to do so. I hope all is well.

Thanks djp...no, sadly Florida and Bama do not match up this year, and hopefully they never do see each other this season, since I believe my Tigers have a chance to win the SEC West and possibly see the Gators again in Atlanta.

I agree 100% with you...20 points at the Swamp against the firepower Florida has won't get it done. You'll see it in a few days, but their offense looks very dangerous.

Yes we really have shown up well each and every week despite the challenges. It feels like every single week is a "game of the year" type of scenario.

I actually think I misspoke before...On this version of NCAA, there is a menu option within dynasty mode called "Coach Philosophy," and it is there that you can edit each team's playbook of choice. What happens when you create a coach though, is that team's playbook becomes that new created coach's playbook until you delete the created coach and it defaults back to the generic coach they had before.

The only other created coaches in this dynasty are Tulane's Joe Roberts and Auburn's Anthony High, which honestly doesn't serve the report much from a video game perspective, but I just like having their names represented on the game since they have storylines within the dynasty, if that makes sense.

I got you covered man; the link to Part I is right here: Coach Geezy in the Big East: Our City, Our Team | Tulane Green Wave (Part I archive).

I migrated that data onto the OS forums a few years ago. There's some fun Easter Eggs within that report that are relavant to the current events in today's reports - Tulane head coach Joe Roberts and Auburn head coach Anthony High's backstories, the origins of Eve Jewell, Tulane's return to the SEC, etc.

I am comfortable with the number of sacks I am getting from a simulation/difficulty standpoint. I haven't had the time to really see how it stacks against real life, but my QB getting sacked 2 to 3 times per game sounds about right, considering I have not had a truly dominant offensive line in a very long time.

It's probably slightly higher sack rate than real life if I had to guess, but overall I am satisfied with the challenge it presents from a pure sim difficulty standpoint.

Just curious - can you define "when wore correctly?" I like them with pretty much every uniform combo we have.

                    LSU Tigers News Clips

WR Brady Carter Jr. had both a kickoff return and a punt return for a touchdown in 2027, and his sophomore campaign this year was off to a good start prior to his injury on Saturday.

LSU | WR Carter Jr. out for the season
                    Sun, 24 Sep 2028 07:14:12 -0700
Melanie Collins of CBS Sports, following up on her sideline report during Saturday's broadcast, reports that, following an MRI performed on Sunday morning, LSU head coach D. Geezy has informed her that sophomore WR Brady Carter Jr. (78 ovr.) was diagnosed with multiple broken ribs, and will miss "at least" the remainder of the regular season. The former 4-star recruit and Kentucky native, who leads all Tigers wide receivers with 21 receptions this season (not counting running backs and tight ends), suffered the injury during Saturday's 20-13 victory over rival Tulane while being tackled by Green Wave CB Steven Rose on a first half punt return.

Carter Jr. was the team's starting punt and kick returner in addition to being the #3 receiver on the depth chart, operating mostly out of the slot. Senior WR Chase Doyle (80 ovr.) will now move up the depth chart into the #3 spot, and will also assume Carter Jr.'s return duties on special teams.

With Carter Jr.'s injury, the Tigers' depth chart at receiver is thinning, as the team had already lost senior WR Russell Stephens (80 ovr.) to a torn Achilles back in week one's 51-14 blowout win over Florida State.

No word on why Collins was reportedly still in Baton Rouge on Sunday morning or why she was the first one to get the scoop on the test results from Geezy so early in the A.M.

Eve Jewell of ESPN's SEC Network reports that after this past weekend's strong performance versus Tulane, LSU sophomore RB Scottie Rodgers (80 ovr) has moved into the top spot on ESPN's weekly Heisman Watch List.

Rodgers, who accounted for 142 scrimmage yards and a touchdown during his team's 20-13 win over the Green Wave, now has 67 rushes for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season to go along with 30 receptions for 362 yards and 7 touchdowns, all team-highs.

Jordan Hebert of LSUSports.net reports that the LSU Tigers, who had 12 players visiting their campus during last week's 20-13 victory over Tulane, have received commitments from 4 of those respective prospects: 4-star Texas DT Ty Jefferson (6-0, 261 pounds, 5.02 40-time, #21 rated DT prospect), 3-star Louisiana WR Leonard Scott (5-11, 192 pounds, 4.48 40-time, #17 rated WR prospect), 3-star Louisiana ATH Stan Ostrander (6-3, 211 pounds, 4.54 40-time, #19 rated ATH prospect), and 3-star Louisiana SS Logan Landrum (6-2, 184 pounds, 4.66 40-time, #24 rated SS prospect).

With both of the team's starting defensive tackles, Travis Fellows (84 ovr.) and Marcus Ratliff (75 ovr.) set to depart after this season, Jefferson could find himself in the team's defensive line rotation as early as next season.

2029 LSU Recruiting Class through week 4 - currently 22nd rated overall

Indeed, we’re still getting settled in after our move. We close on a new house next month and plan to move in by October. The gaming systems are in storage until then. Once we’re moved in I plan to jump back into Sonoma State on here!

Looks like Rodgers is on his way to a Reggie Moore-esque statline (more carries, though). I find it interesting that you've had just one Heisman winner in all the years of your dynasty (do you know how many "finalists" you have had?).

This breaks my heart. Jordan Hebert is 10x better than Natalie Decker.

As a realist, losing Brady to a season ending injury at this point where he was just starting to blossom is such a huge loss, I think he's gonna come back his junior year and feast though so thats a positive.

Coach Geezy is beating Tulane, hitting up Melanie Collins..I love it, I absolutely love it. Never change my old friend. I am finally all caught up and also getting back to work on my own project finally. So happy to see the fast start to the season for LSU. I am expecting big things this season, a major bowl bid and a conference title could really set you up for years to come.

Those Louisiana Finest uniforms are hot. Love them and hoping to see more of them.

Sucks to lose Carter, especially like others have already mentioned with him really starting to stand out as an x-factor. Hopefully it will motivate him to just come back even stronger next year.

So much more to say my old friend and hopefully with more regular posting, I will be able to, but I do want to say how lucky I feel to get to read your work over all of these years. Like I said, in the beginning, never change my friend, never change.

Congrats on the house my man! That's always an incredible accomplishment that no one should ever take for granted.

Look forward to seeing you back on here regularly soon once you guys are all settled in. Great stuff.

Yes I see Scottie Rodgers as a better rusher than Reggie was, while also being a similar threat as a pass receiver out of the backfield. The only thing Reggie has over Scottie is his speed (94 spd vs. 85 spd), but Scottie makes up for it by being better at just about everything else ratings-wise.

I have actually had four Heisman finalists over the course of this dynasty:

Sorry man, you're wrong. She's a former LSU cheerleader turned reporter.

As a realist, losing Brady to a season ending injury at this point where he was just starting to blossom is such a huge loss, I think he's gonna come back his junior year and feast though so thats a positive.
Yeah it really stinks to lose Brady Carter Jr. at this juncture. His speed was critical for us, but thankfully the senior Chase Doyle is just as fast. The way I see it, it just means more targets for Scottie, Lucas, and a few other guys.

Carter Jr. is slated to be our #1 receiver next year, so hopefully he can bounce back and be ready for a big junior campaign in 2029.

Cheese, always great to hear from you brother. Hope all is well. I can tell you've been a very busy man lately.

I love your optimism on the outlook for our team. I am trying to keep my expectations tempered here as we aren't even halfway through the season, but I must admit, it is tough. My brain is telling me we're just 5-0, but my heart is telling me to go get LSU - 2028 National Champions tattooed on my chest.

We'll pull out the Louisiana's Finest outfits once every blue moon, especially for home games versus Tulane. I should have mentioned this in the game story, but these uniforms have only been worn once in the history of LSU, and it came versus Tulane in 2007 at the Superdome. The uniforms were specifically designed by Nike for both the Tigers and the Green Wave to honor victims of Hurricane Katrina:

Glad to get your feedback as always my man...hope you and yours are doing well and are all settled into the house. Really looking forward to seeing some more of your work soon; this place just ain't the same without ol'Cheese roaming around!
