Free Agent Cornerback Brandon Flowers to meet with teams this week.

    9/23/14

    Patti Lovelette

Former Kansas City Chiefs Cornerback has been on the market since KC released him in June.

"I wanted to stay in Kansas City but I understand this is a business too. At the same time I also felt like they disrespected me when they just released me. I want to play. I don't care where." Flowers said in an interview.

With Week 4 in the NFL upon us Brandon Flowers is scheduled to meet with some teams for a deal.

"I'm here to help any team win. I want to play." Flowers stated.

Flowers will be meeting with teams this week and hopefully a deal will be made. He has 17 interceptions in his career.

      Except for one.

New Quarterback Matt Simms is taking the extra time off to practice his reps.

"I'm still new here. I just got here a week ago barely so I'm still trying to get use to the system here." Simms stated.

The Rams will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly Week 5.

San Diego Chargers Quarterback Phillip Rivers Post Game Press Conference.

On first Game back from injury.

"It was great to be back with these guys. Great chemistry in the locker room and guys know how to go out there and win games. We fell behind there but we didn't quit."

        On Game Winning Drive...

"The fight in the guys here is just amazing. We keep fighting for each other day in and day out. Great team effort to drive down the field. I mean Buffalo's defense is no joke and they made us work."

On how far can the team go in 2014...

"Every game is a great test for us. Being 2-1 with some great teams facing us. The guys in here are hungry and with how close we got last year losing to Denver in the Division Round, it's all just motivation for us."

On Chargers 20-17 win over Bills...

"Great team effort on Offense and Defense. Great kick by Nick (Novak) to win the game. Great all around win for us."

          On having Phillip Rivers back..

"We're a more complete team with him under center. Great leader for the guys in the locker room. A motivator, a fighter, a general."

On no turnovers at all on the game..

"Very proud of the way we held on to the ball but the defense needs to be a little more oppourtunistic on creating turnovers."

Washington Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III dislocates same arm as earlier, misses next 3 games.

            9/23/14

            Patti Lovelette

Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III was excited to suit up for the first time this season 2 days ago when the Redskins traveled to Philadelphia.

            Hope was gone.

As the Redskins Quarterback took the field in Philly an eerie familiar sight happened. After taking a sack by Eagles Defensive Lineman Cedric Thornton, Griffin III dislocated his elbow again and was on the ground.

"It's the same elbow. I can't catch a break." RG3 stated. His head was down in disappointment.

Griffin III injured his elbow in a Pre-Season game back in August and missed the first 2 weeks of the season. 4th Rounder Kirk Cousins started and had Washington at 1-1.

Now as Week 3's matchup with Division Rival Philadelphia Eagles kicked off, RG3 was excited to be back with his team.

            But it was a disaster.

The Redskins lost 38-17 in which Philly jumped out to a 31-0 blowout and never looked back.

Griffin III was out again with his elbow, Cousins stepped in. Washington found new life.

            But it was too late.

"It's a tough break for Robert to come back and get hurt again." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden stated. "We love Robert and we're still committed to him."

Griffin III will miss the next 3-4 games and should be back by Week 7's matchup with the Tennessee Titans in Washington.

Washington Redskins Front Office's Daniel Snyder.. "Griffin is still our guy"

              9/23/14

              Patti Lovelette

With their Franchise Quarterback on the shelf for the second time this Season, Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder assured the NFL Media, fans, and Redskins Organization that RG3 was still "Their guy."

"It's a rough year for him for sure, but we feel he can lead this team to success." Snyder stated.

4th Rounder Kirk Cousins has stepped in in Griffin's absence.

"I love Kirk (Cousins) the things he's been doing to help this team win is just great. This was exactly why we picked up Cousins in the 4th Round. Insurance Policy." Snyder said.

Griffin III is expected to miss 3 games and should be back by Week 6 or 7.

Washington Redskins Kirk Cousins "This is still Griffin's Team. I'm just filling in."

                9/23/14

                Patti Lovelette

Any rumors of a Quarterback Controversy in Washington was officially put to bed today when Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins made a statement to the media following the announcement of RG3 missing more games.

"This is still his team. I'm just filling in right now to help the team win games. " Cousins stated.

Despite rumors of Cousins and Griffin III having a controversy, Redskins Management made it known that it was a rumor.

"Everybody loves Robert." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden said. "We appreciate everything Kirk is doing but he's filling in right now for experience. Griffin is our guy."

"When we took Kirk in the 4th round it was for insurance policy. I know RG3 may of took that as a sign of disrespect but right now we're still committed to him. Cousins is our starter for now but we're still with RG3." Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder stated.

The Redskins Insurance Policy is named the starter for the Season while RG3 is healing his dislocated elbow.

Cousins 4 Interceptions dooms REDSKINS in Primetime Matchup VS GIANTS..

                    RECAP

Washington, DC- Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins is still getting his feet wet in the NFL. Tonight may of been his worst performance so far in his young career. The Redskins(1-3) hosted their East Rival New York Giants(3-1) on Thursday Night Football and we're pushed around in front of their home crowd at FedEx Field.

"Division Games are always the hardest on the schedule. They know us as much as we know them." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden stated.

Cousins didn't look comfortable at all in the pocket going 28/46 306 yards 2 TD's and 4 INT's.

"I didn't play well. It's no secret I was off tonight and really put us in a hole with my turnovers." Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins stated.

The Giants capitalized on each turnover putting up 37 points to roll over their East Rivals 37-23.

"Played well on Offense I thought. Defense could be better. Some things to work on moving ahead." Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin said.

Giants Quarterback Eli Manning was 39/55 for 363 yards and 2 TD's.

The Giants(3-1) never turned the ball over once.

"Great ball control by us. When we don't turn the ball over it gives us more confidence to win games." Coughlin said.

                    The Run Game.

Giants Running Back Rashad Jennings had 35 Carries for 136 Yards and 2 Touchdowns.

Redskins Running Back Alfred Morris had 203 yards off 23 carries and a TD.

"We couldn't stop the run. Not good at all. Lot of work to do in that category to get ready for the next one." Giants Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell stated.

The Redskins have racked up 671 total yards today while the Giants got 576.

"Lot of yards are good however it's not showing on the Scoreboard." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden stated.

The Giants(3-1) have now won 3 in a row while the Redskins(1-3) drop their second straight.

You know it's Bears-Packers week when people start talking about it. Week 4 is upon us and last night the New York Giants(3-1) defeated the Washington Redskins(1-3) 37-23 on Thursday Night Football.

Now with Sunday inching closer it's time to hype up the oldest rivalry in the NFL. It's Packers-Bears week.

If anyone has some hostility entering another chapter in the rivalry it's the Chicago Bears. The Bears season came to an end in Week 17 at Soldier Field thanks to an Aaron Rodgers Game Winning Drive. Green Bay clinched the North Division title and a trip to the Playoffs with a 8-7-1 record.

Chicago was left licking their wounds on the outside looking in at 8-8.

"It's a big rivalry, This game is huge for us. We want to beat Green Bay." Bears Head Coach Marc Trestman stated.

Chicago, IL- It was a game that the Chicago Bears had circled on the calendar since the schedule was released.

A rematch with Green Bay in the Windy City.

It's still painful for the Bears and their fans to think back to Week 17 of the 2013 Season when the Bears met the Packers at Soldier Field. It was a must win game for both teams to clinch not only the North Division, but the final Playoff spot.

                            The Packers won.

The Bears we're 8-8 on the outside looking in.

Now entering the Week 4 "Rematch" with their hated rivals, the Bears went right after the Packers. Hard.

Chicago(3-1) went after the Packers weakest link. Their defense. Green Bay(2-2) ranks 29th in Defense coming into the game.

Da Bears took advantage of it.

The Bears(3-1) beat the Packers(2-2) 27-20 today in Chicago gaining some retribution from last year. It was bittersweet. For now.

The Bears took a 21-3 lead into halftime with the Packers Defense bleeding yards and struggling to get stops. But then Green Bay came alive in the second half.

"Made some changes there for us in the second half." Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated.

The Packers outscored their rivals 21-6 in the second half but it was too little too late for Rodgers and company.

"We put ourselves in a hole their early." Rodgers stated. "Had to clean some things up. Missed out on chances."

Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler picked apart the horrid Packers defense with 219 yards and 3 TD's. He was also picked off once by Tramon Williams(His 4th of the year.)

"Felt great throwing the ball. Our guys we're getting open, plenty of opportunities and lots of yards for plays." Cutler stated.

The Packers defense struggled bad today at Soldier Field.

"We held them to 6 points the second half. Felt great about that." McCarthy stated.

The Packers made it more of a game in the second half when Quarterback Aaron Rodgers found some rhythm. He had 2 Touchdowns and a pick for 320 yards.

"We took our foot off the gas there a bit in the second half. We have to make sure we keep it on for all four quarters." Bears Head Coach Marc Trestman stated.

The Packers we're making a comeback. Aaron Rodgers connected with Eddie Lacy for a Touchdown to make it 27-20 Chicago.

There was under two minutes left on the clock. Green Bay was down by 7.

All they needed was a onside kick.

Then came the bonehead Mike McCarthy. The Coach who claims to have "Turned over a new leaf" was back to his boneheaded ways.

                            In the most crucial spot.

Rather then attempting to go for the tie or win, McCarthy had Crosby kick off to Chicago's endzone giving the Bears back the ball.

Green Bay never got another chance. Aaron Rodgers wasn't happy.

Chicago ran the clock out to seal the victory over their rivals.

"I really felt like our defense could get the stop and give us back the ball. I didn't want to put Chicago in scoring range if I could avoid it." Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated.

Seconds after the kickoff, Camera's caught Rodgers having words with McCarthy. Rumors spread that Rodgers was very upset with the play call. So we're other players.

It appears Mike McCarthy never turned over a new leaf and is still in his boneheaded ways as the Packers fall to 2-2.

After falling to their North Division rivals the Chicago Bears on Sunday 27-20, Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy and Quarterback Aaron Rodgers we're seen "having words."

Right after Aaron Rodgers threw a Touchdown pass to Running back Eddie Lacy to pull within 7, many thought McCarthy would attempt the onside kick to try and win the game.

                              Instead he did the opposite.

"There was still time on the clock and we had no timeouts. I don't understand why he had Mason (Crosby) do a full kickoff." Rodgers said in an interview.

Seconds after making the score 27-20 with under 2 minutes on the clock, Head Coach Mike McCarthy opted to put his defense back on the field and hope for a miracle.

"I really felt like our defense could get the stop for us." McCarthy stated.

They didn't. Chicago ran out the final 2 minutes and Aaron Rodgers never got another chance for a comeback.

He let his frustration be known as the two we're seen having words on the sidelines.

"It's hard to win games in this league." McCarthy stated.

Many players in Green Bay Locker room we're also seen being visably upset over McCarthy's decision.

It's being reported by Green Bay's Front Office Mark Murphy that he thought the decision was "Stupid."
