Cousins Game Winning Drive leads REDSKINS over JAGUARS in OT!

    RECAP

WASHINGTON- Kirk Cousins was clutch in the waning moments of Overtime. A pass to Leonard Hankerson set up a game winning FG by Forbath and the Redskins(1-1) beat the Jaguars(0-2) today.

"It was a hard fought game for sure. Back and fourth. Great job by our guys to get the win." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden stated.

Kirk Cousins was 13/29 for 215 yards 2 TD's and a pick. He was sacked 4 times by the Jaguars defense.

"Jacksonville had some great pressure and kept throwing me off today, got to give them credit." Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins stated.

The real MVP for Washington today was running back Alfred Morris who rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries including a 35 yard carry in the second half.

"Give credit to those guys up front blocking for me. Great job by them." Morris stated.

Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III is set to return next week from his elbow injury.

"We'll see how he is feeling. I'm not in a hurry to rush him back if he isn't ready. I feel really good about Kirk (Cousins)." Head Coach Jay Gruden stated.

The Redskins was pulling away with a 27-20 victory until Jaguars Quarterback Chad Henne connected with Tight End Marcedes Lewis on a miracle pass that sent the game into OT 27 all.

"Just kept fighting. We gave it our all today." Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley stated.

The Jaguars must find answers moving forward after dropping to 0-2 as they host Division rivals Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts(0-1) next week.

The Redskins head to Philadelphia to battle the Eagles(1-0).

Big D comes into the Music City after escaping San Francisco with a 34-31 victory last week in Dallas. The Cowboys will look to carry the momentum in Nashville as the Titans were slaughtered last week in Kansas City at the hands of that monstrous defense.

NASHVILLE- The Cowboys narrowly escaped Jim Harbaugh's 49ers last week with a 34-31 victory. This week the Cowboys look to carry the momentum with a win in Nashville against a Titans team who was brutally murdered last week at Arrowhead.

"Last week was a bad game for us. Tough place to play in Kansas City. This week we have Dallas and that's a tough challenge too." Titans Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt stated.

The Titans were slaughtered by the Chiefs last week and will look to rebound.

"Dallas is a good team. They have a lot of playmakers over there. Great Quarterback, great receivers, solid defense." Titans Quarterback Jake Locker stated.

Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo will be under center after leaving the game last week with a sore shoulder.

"I iced it this week and was back to practice. I'm playing." Romo stated.

"He's a tough player. Love having him." Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones stated.

The Titans will need to rebound after a thrashing in KC last week. But Head Coach Jason Garrett isn't taking Tennessee lightly.

"Bad games happen to teams all the time. It's football. We know we need to stick to our game plan and treat them like any other opponent." Garrett said.

          RECAP

NASHVILLE- For the second week in a row the Dallas Cowboys(2-0) have escaped with a narrow win.

The Cowboys took a 10-0 lead before the Tennessee Titans(0-2) battled back.

          It was 13-13 at halftime.

Dallas looked to be running away with a victory until a Jason McCourty Pick 6 off Tony Romo brought Tennessee within 7.

On the next drive in the 4th quarter Tony Romo suffered another injury. This time it was more severe as he headed to the locker room.

"It's his same shoulder from last week." Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett stated. "We didn't find out until after the game. X-rays say he'll miss some time. Brandon (Weeden) will be our starter moving forward for next few games."

"It's no fun seeing guys get hurt especially your leader. He's a great guy in this locker room. Great teammate." Cowboys Quarterback Brandon Weeden said.

"I'm devastated. I can't help the team win games when my shoulder is in a sling." Tony Romo said.

It's being reported that Tony Romo will miss a month with a torn shoulder.

He should be back roughly around Week 7's matchup with the New York Giants.

"I hate seeing him get hurt. He's such a valuable piece to this team. We have confidence in Brandon Weeden but we'll need to bring another Quarterback in to backup Weeden." Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones said.

The Cowboys also featured a two-headed Running Back monster today as Demarco Murray and rookie Ezekiel Elliot both rushed for over 100 yards.

"Those guys are going to do wonders for us this year." Cowboys Offensive Coordinator Bill Callahan stated.

The Tennessee Titans(0-2) have work to do. Quarterback Jake Locker is playing solid but the defense has given up 38+ points the first two weeks of the year.

"It's a team sport. We know we have things to clean up and work to do. We have to get ready for Cincinnati next week." Titans Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt stated.

"Great group of guys here. We play our hearts out but damn almost got a win today. Dallas is a tough team." Titans Quarterback Jake Locker stated.

The Cowboys(2-0) will start Brandon Weeden and look for a backup next week as they head to St. Louis to face the Rams(1-0).

The Titans(0-2) head to Cincinnati to face the Bengals(1-0).

GIANTS look to rebound after epic collapse, CARDINALS look to keep rolling at MetLife...

              PREVIEW

East Rutheford, NJ- Last week the Giants looked like they were back to being NFC Contenders with a whopping 27 point half time lead.

But that was just a mirage.

In what is known as the "Miracle in Mo-Town" the Giants collapsed in the second half blowing a 27-0 lead as Matthew Stafford and the Lions mounted a comeback for the ages.

"Last week was unacceptable. Our guys know they can't be blowing leads like that." Giants Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell stated.

"We had extra reps this week on defense so we could be ready for Arizona. Need to put the execution in motion." Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin stated.

But it's not all on the defense. The Giants Offense was held to just a FG all second half.

"I take blame for that. We need to do better on offense as well. Being held to 3 and outs is a big no no." Quarterback Eli Manning stated.

Giants Offensive Coordinator Ben McAdoo also took some time for the media before the Giants home opener.

"We we're up 27 points and we took our foot off the gas. Got to make sure we finish all four quarters." McAdoo stated.

The Cardinals come into MetLife fresh off a 26-10 win over the Riversless Chargers.

Despite throwing 3 interceptions last week the Cards led by Carson Palmer have hopes in rolling with the momentum.

"Every week is a new week. We got a win last week and now we're looking to capitalize on it on Sunday. " Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians stated.

"Despite their struggles, the Giants defense is actually good so we have to have a good game plan going in." Cardinals Quarterback Carson Palmer stated.

GIANTS bounce back with 31-10 romp of CARDINALS!!

                RECAP

East Rutheford, NJ- Eli Manning threw for 225 yards and 2 Touchdowns with a pick, Running back Rashad Jennings rushed for 144 yards and the Giants blew out the Arizona Cardinals Sunday inside MetLife Stadium.

"Just in my groove again. We didn't want a repeat of last week." Giants Quarterback Eli Manning stated.

The Giants defense showed up today harassing Cardinals Quarterback Carson Palmer all day even picking him off twice.

"It was rough. They were all over us from the start." Cardinals Quarterback Carson Palmer stated.

Palmer did manage 333 yards and a TD but was dropped 5 times by the G-Men Defense.

"Much better performance this week. Very proud of our guys." Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin said.

The Cardinals(1-1) struggled to get anything going today as their run game was shut down and they managed only 10 points all game.

They did however gain 372 yards total on Offense.

"We need to be better on both sides of the ball. Our guys need to be better up front blocking so we can run the ball better, overall it was a rough day for us." Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians stated.

Running Back Jonathan Dwyer only managed 42 yards on 13 carries.

"Hard to run the ball when the defense is suffocating you like that. Need to be better." Cardinals Running Back Dwyer stated.

                COMING OUT PARTY

Giants rookie WR Odell Beckham Jr. had his coming out party today as the stud Wideout caught 8 passes for 105 yards and his first TD.

"They drafted me for a reason. I'm here to help this team win some games." Beckham stated.

                UP NEXT

The Cardinals(1-1) host San Francisco 49ers(0-1) next week.

The Giants(1-1) host Houston Texans(1-0) next week.

Vikings Mike Zimmer unsure of Quarterback vs New England...

Minneapolis, MN- The Mike Zimmer era in Minnesota got off to a rough start as a blowout in St. Louis resulted in Sam Bradford and the Rams dropping 52 points on a new Zimmer Vikings team.

But it wasn't all the defenses fault. Quarterback Christian Ponder struggled bad and threw 4 interceptions that put too much pressure on the defense.

"I still haven't made my decision yet." Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer stated. "I said after the Rams game we'll look at our Quarterbacks and how they perform in practice this week. It's going to be a gameday decision that's for sure."

Minnesota is set to open their 2014 Season home opener vs Tom Brady and the Patriots.

But with a struggling Christian Ponder, the Vikes have veteran Matt Cassel and rookie draft pick Teddy Bridgewater who is back healthy after nursing a injury in Pre-Season.

Head Coach Mike Zimmer is running out of time on naming his Quarterback for tomorrows game.

Ponder OUT, Bridgewater IN as VIKINGS prepare for Brady and PATRIOTS!

                    PREVIEW

Minneapolis, MN- It's been a decision in the making all week. Who would start for Week 2 for the Minnesota Vikings(0-1) home opener vs Tom Brady and the New England Patriots(0-1)?

We have that answer now just hours before kickoff.

"We made the decision to go with Teddy Bridgewater as our starter for todays game. How long is unknown as each week is week to week decisions for our coaching staff." Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer stated.

The Vikings benched Christian Ponder after his disaster performance last week in St. Louis throwing 4 interceptions as the Rams stomped Minnesota 52-21.

The Vikings also announced demoting Christian Ponder to QB#3 as veteran Matt Cassel has been named the backup for todays game.

"We also considered naming Cassel the starter but we felt New England would know how to game plan for him since he's a former player. We went with the element of surprise." Vikings Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner stated.

The challenge today will be stopping Tom Brady. The Patriots were upset last week in South Beach.

"Last week was last week. We're focusing on Minnesota now." Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick stated.

"Tom Brady is always tough to prepare for. A Quarterback of that caliber and one of the best ever, gonna be a challenge for sure." Vikings Defensive Coordinator George Edwards stated.

So this Vikings-Patriots game was ridiculous. Between Tom Brady, Teddy B, Matt C, they were 5 TD's and 5 picks.

So I decided to not record the stats and turn down some sliders.

SAINTS look to continue dominance vs Johnny Football and BROWNS....

                        PREVIEW

Cleveland,OH- Last week, Saints Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan devised a new Defensive strategy and scheme. The result was immediately successful. New Orleans made life miserable for the Atlanta Falcons(0-1).

Quarterback Matt Ryan was dropped 5 times and pressured on just about every snap. The Falcons were held to just 217 yards of total offense. Ryan was shut down in the passing game as well.

The Falcons run game was worse. Just 40 yards on the day.

The Saints(1-0) look to bring this defense that made Atlanta miserable into Cleveland where the Browns(0-1) are licking their wounds after a 30-17 loss to the Steelers last week.

The "Johnny Football" era is off to a slow start. In fact, Manziel wasn't supposed to be playing yet but a Pre-Season injury to Brian Hoyer thrust Manziel into the role.

"College football and Pro football are completely different. That's obvious. Our plan is to develop Manziel for the future. It's just sooner now since Hoyer is out for a few more weeks." Browns Head Coach Mike Pettine stated.

"I'm here to play football." Browns Quarterback Johnny Manziel stated. "Time to grow and be better is part of the philosophy in Cleveland. The future looks bright."

"We had a great performance last week but it's a new week now so we need to prepare for a new team. Every game presents new challenges." Saints Head Coach Sean Payton stated.

"Very proud of our defense last week. Cleveland will present a challenge for us with Manziel. He's a great Quarterback." Saints Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan said.

The Saints will look to make life miserable in Cleveland as Johnny Manziel is set to make his second career start.

                              PREVIEW

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Bengals(1-0) are in position to move into first place in the Division if they can knock off the visiting Atlanta Falcons(0-1).

But that's a task easier said than done.

"They might of lost last week but that team has tons of playmakers on it. Matt (Ryan), Steven (Jackson), Julio (Jones), the list goes on. We need to be on our best game today." Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis stated.

The Bengals knocked off the Ravens last week 34-26. The Falcons were dominated by the Saints and their new look defense 36-10.

"In this league, each game is critical for playoffs. Even this early in the year. We lost last week now we need to rebound." Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith stated.

The Falcons are coming off a dismal 2013 Campaign in which they were 4-12.

This year the Falcons look to rebound and make a push for the playoffs.

"Every team wants to be in the Playoffs. But we have to win games first to get there. It's early still so we need to be focused and get a win." Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan stated.

"Atlanta is a good team. Good Quarterback, good receivers, good defense. We're excited for the challenge." Bengals Quarterback Andy Dalton stated.

Bengals Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther will have his hands full in stopping the Falcons offense.

"Yeah we been watching tape more this week because of the quality of the Falcons talent. Going to be a challenge for sure." He said.
