Good to see Ball State thriving in the Big 12 despite the lack of coaching stability since Savage's departure.
Thanks CW! The only thing that could make Hendrix better was if he had a afro lol. But him and Wear have really elevated our passing game. I looked back at last years stats and of the 190 completions Seri threw, 107 went to HB/WR Spencer Vernon. It was probably the lowest yardage I've thrown in a dynasty this year, so getting a guy like Hendrix and a dynamic playmaker like Wear on top of it has been fun.

Looks like your got QB and RB covered for awhile

    Congrats on another ACC title.
Thanks Deuce! I'm wishing I had given Browner more run during the season now. Gilliam and Sands have been solid, but Browner has the speed/shifty combo that Hoag has. He's definitely going to be RB1 if Hoag does leave for the draft.

It's always a great feeling when you control the game so much that your QB only needs to throw 8 passes and mixed in two touchdowns in that number.

Interested to see your side of the bracket in the CFP.
Thanks man! I didn't even realize he'd only completed 8 passes until the 4th Q and I didn't want to throw it just to pad his stats, besides Browner deserved the flowers after riding the bench with no complaints.

      The Road to Tampa

Heading into conference championship week, the Alabama Crimson Tide sat at No. 11, believing they had a strong chance to secure the 12th seed in the College Football Playoff. However, a shocking upset by the USC Trojans over Boise State sent shockwaves through the rankings. USC’s victory propelled them up the standings, while Boise State, despite the loss, only dropped three spots. Meanwhile, Big Ten champion Iowa claimed the fifth automatic bid, leaving Alabama on the outside looking in.

"It's unfortunate—the guys were expecting to prepare for a College Football Playoff game, and now we'll be playing in a bowl game instead," said Alabama head coach Kaleb DeBoer. "But that's on us. If we had won more games, we wouldn’t be in this position."

With both Alabama and Oregon missing out after falling just short, the playoff picture is set, featuring intriguing potential rematches in the quarterfinals. Depending on first-round results, Arkansas and Tennessee could face off against their respective conference runners-up (Houston and Texas) for the second consecutive game. Ball State has a chance to meet USC again, while Miami could get a shot at avenging its lone ACC loss with a victory over Auburn.

      First-Round Playoff Matchups:

Big Ten Champion Iowa travels to Muncie to face Ball State, with the winner set to battle USC in the Rose Bowl.

Houston heads to Chapel Hill to take on North Carolina, with the victor advancing to the Sugar Bowl to face #1 seed Arkansas.

Boise State visits Austin to clash with Texas, where SEC Champion Tennessee awaits the winner in the Peach Bowl.

Auburn travels to Miami for a showdown with the Hurricanes, with the winner earning a trip to the Fiesta Bowl to meet Syracuse.

Jason Veasy Makes History - Again

Already cementing his legacy as the NCAA’s all-time sack leader earlier this season—with a record 64 and counting—Jason Veasy has now added another historic achievement to his résumé. The standout junior defensive end became only the second defensive player, and the first full-time defender, to win the prestigious Heisman Memorial Trophy.

"Just being invited to this ceremony as a defensive player is an incredible honor," Veasy said after accepting the award.

"I came here expecting to pick up a few defensive honors, so I apologize for not having a speech prepared. I just want to thank my family and coaches for their support throughout the years. Go Orange!"

While Veasy may have been caught off guard by the Heisman win, his dominant stats left no doubt. He recorded an astonishing 22.5 sacks—six more than any other player—and 42 tackles for loss, doubling the total of his closest competitor, teammate Max Shaver (22).

Veasy’s historic night didn’t stop with the Heisman. He also claimed an impressive collection of awards, including the Nagurski, Bednarik, Lombardi, Maxwell, and Walter Camp trophies.

His teammates didn’t leave empty-handed either. Max Shaver took home Linebacker of the Year, Tyree Kight earned the Thorpe Award, and JC Hoag finally secured the Doak Walker Award—his first—despite leading the nation in rushing for the past three seasons.

It was a night to remember for Veasy and his teammates, further solidifying their dominance on the defensive side of the ball.

What's up with Ball State.. I was so excited to see them on opposite sides of th bracket and then they go out and choke.. Happy to see Boise State win though. Maybe we will get a Blue vs Orange matchup..

I still don't understand how I throw so many interceptions with Awe and half as many with Hendrix, or Semonza, playing the same style. He has lower accuracy and awareness stats as a scrambling QB, so I don't know if that plays into his accuracy on passes but just simple go routes are always flat, wheels sometime just drift too far inside. I dunno. Every game we've lost with Awe as a starter his interceptions are 4+. With the playoff game he had 28 on the season, bringing him to almost 90 in his 3 years as a starter sigh. Maybe a new QB fixes the Ball State problem, but they haven't won a playoff game since the 2027 Natty.

I was excited to see Boise blow the doors off of Texas. Tennessee is a tough matchup, but I'm rooting for an Orange vs Blue bowl

Roy McCleon found just enough room in the endzone to secure the game winning touchdown, sending Syracuse past the rival Hurricanes 34-31.

LEFT - Newly minted Heisman winner Jason Veasy with the big play late in the 1st half, getting the strip sack that Tyree Kight would scoop for a touchdown.
CENTER - Jamar Mevis thought he'd finally conquered the Orange with this perfect read on the RPO, giving Miami the 31-28 lead with just 2:41 remaining.
RIGHT - Hendrix didn't throw a touchdown until this 69 yard throw with 5:32 remaining, ending a 17 point Miami run and putting Syracuse back on top.

Glendale, AZ. - #2 Syracuse punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff semifinals in dramatic fashion, edging out #6 Miami 34-31 in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium. The Orange, led by freshman quarterback Immanuel Hendrix, overcame a sluggish first half and a late Miami rally to secure the victory on the game’s final play.

Syracuse struck first with a 10-yard touchdown run by star running back JC Hoag in the opening quarter. However, Miami’s defense tightened up, forcing two Hendrix interceptions and stopping a fourth-down attempt deep in Hurricane territory. The Orange offense struggled to find its rhythm, but their defense provided a spark when Heisman-winning defensive end Jason Veasy stripped Miami quarterback Jamar Mevis, allowing linebacker Tyree Kight to scoop up the fumble and score from three yards out. That defensive touchdown gave Syracuse a 14-7 halftime lead despite their offensive struggles.

Coming out of the break, the Orange capitalized on a short field, courtesy of a 47-yard punt return by Dalton Wear, as Trenton Gilliam capped the drive with a 16-yard touchdown run. Syracuse’s 21-7 lead appeared comfortable—until Miami struck back with lightning speed. On the Hurricanes’ next play from scrimmage, running back Edward Shakir sprinted 75 yards to the house, cutting the deficit to 21-14. Miami then capitalized on a busted coverage for a 42-yard touchdown pass to Mike Johnson, leveling the score at 21-21. A short field goal by Dallas Gayton gave Miami its first lead at 24-21 early in the fourth quarter.

Hendrix finally found his deep-ball rhythm, launching a 69-yard strike to Felix Redwine to regain the lead for Syracuse, 28-24. But Miami’s Jamar Mevis responded with a flawless drive, completing all five of his passes, including a 17-yard touchdown to Johnson to put the Hurricanes back in front, 31-28, with just 2:46 left in regulation.

With the season on the line, Hendrix orchestrated a legendary drive. The freshman quarterback calmly led the Orange down the field, hitting 10 of 11 passes for 70 yards. Facing a crucial fourth-and-goal from the two-yard line with only one second left, head coach Nash Savage called a timeout. He looked straight at Hendrix and said, “It’s your time,” before rallying the team and declaring they were going for the win. Trusting his young signal-caller completely, Savage called a five-wide formation that put Hendrix in complete control. With the clock ticking down, redshirt freshman receiver Roy McCleon found a seam in Miami’s defense on a drag route, and Hendrix fired a perfect pass between the numbers for the game-winning touchdown as time expired. The dramatic finish sent the Orange to the CFP semifinals in breathtaking fashion.

Hendrix rebounded from a rocky first half (11/17, 132 yards, 2 INT) with a near-flawless second half, going 16/20 for 197 yards and two touchdowns.

With the victory, Syracuse advances to the Orange Bowl, where they will face Boise State after the Broncos’ 24-13 win over SEC champion Tennessee.

Can't say I've ever seen a defensive lineman win a Heisman in any version of NCAA - kudos to Veasy, and to do it with pretty realistic stats too! As for your CFP opener, an absolute instant classic, but Hendrix has ice in his veins and keeps Cuse's repeat dreams alive!

I had a guy win one with my USC dynasty in similar fashion, just dominated in the trenches. Veasy has been a menace since day 1, he tallied two sacks in his first career game as a true freshman, and hasn't let up. Only thing that sucks is I'm sure he's going to declare for the draft after the season.

I almost blew it on the game winning drive, I forgot about the clock runoff after the 3rd down completion and time almost ran out before I got to the line, thankfully I was able to call the TO with 1 second left. After giving up 24 2nd half points and watching them effortlessly drive the field on their previous drive, I knew OT was going to be a slugfest, so I called the play I had the most faith in and thankfully McCleon got free for his first career TD.

Excited for the matchup. I can't believe BSU Top.RB is a 67 Overall Freshman. Guess it's a good thing they got 3 1000 yd WR.

Little surprised Browner went from the man to not.even getting a carry

They pass the ball 75% of the time lol. Their top RB is actually out injured for the game, but even he is only a 75 OVR.

Browner got 3 carries, but they were all called back by a holding penalty...he did get a few catches though in the two back sets. He's my RB2 currently, but with Hoag coming off the injury he didn't need a rest as much as normal.

LEFT - Veasy lead the charge as he collected 3 of the Orange's 7 1st half sacks.
CENTER - Air Hoag cleared for takeoff.
RIGHT - The killshot 99 yard touchdown with just 8 seconds left to give Syracuse all of the momentum and a 21-3 halftime lead.

Miami, FL. - The Syracuse Orange are headed back to the national championship after a dominant 35-3 dismantling of the Boise State Broncos in the 2030 Orange Bowl, securing their spot in the College Football Playoff title game. From start to finish, the Orange controlled the game, riding a relentless pass rush and explosive offensive plays to punch their ticket to the biggest stage.

Boise State opened the game with some promise, picking up two early first downs before running into a brick wall—Syracuse’s fearsome defense, the “‘Cuse Crushers.” Three consecutive sacks forced a punt and set the tone for the night. The Orange wasted no time establishing their own rhythm, pounding the ball on the ground with six straight runs. A 30-yard burst by Trenton Gilliam helped set up Lee Browner’s 2-yard touchdown run to give Syracuse a lead they would never surrender.

The Broncos struggled to move the ball against a swarming Syracuse defense, managing only a single red-zone trip in the first half. Even then, they were pushed backward by two more sacks and had to settle for a 42-yard field goal from Kane Jorgensen. Syracuse responded with a methodical drive capped by a 3-yard touchdown from JC Hoag. But the biggest blow of the half—and likely the game—came in the final moments before the break.

Pinned at their own 1-yard line with just eight seconds remaining in the half, most teams would have attempted to run it out. Not Syracuse. Head coach Nash Savage dialed up a deep shot, and freshman QB Immanuel Hendrix delivered, launching a perfect strike to Dalton Wear on a deep post for a 99-yard touchdown that sent Hard Rock Stadium into a frenzy. The back-breaking score put the Orange up 21-3 at halftime and left the Broncos shell-shocked heading into the locker room.

Syracuse carried that momentum into the second half, opening with a 12-play drive that saw Hendrix connect with TE Danny Pace for an 11-yard touchdown to extend the lead. The Orange defense continued to terrorize Boise State QB Miles Boyett, finishing the night with a staggering 12 sacks, including three and a half from Veasy. Boise’s final attempt to salvage some pride ended fittingly—with Veasy and fellow DE Robert Foster combining for the last sack of the game on a failed fourth-down attempt late in the fourth quarter.

With the win, Syracuse advances to the national championship, where they will face the No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks, fresh off a gritty 13-0 victory over USC in the Cotton Bowl. The Orange will have the chance to repeat as national champions, but they’ll have to go through an Arkansas squad that has been dominant all season. One game remains, and for Nash Savage and his squad, the mission is clear: finish the job.
