LEFT - Jason Veasy did his part to solidify his Heisman standing with a pair of sacks to bring his season total to 23.5, with another 5 TFL added on top.
CENTER - Manny Logan took advantage of the special teams gaff by Syracuse to put up consecutive touchdowns, pulling Florida State within a touchdown with just two minutes remaining in the 2nd Q. Unbeknownst to the Seminoles, it would be their last points of the game.
RIGHT - Hendrix continued his already historic Syracuse career with a 5 touchdown (4 passing, 1 rushing) performance to capture his 2nd ACC title in as many seasons.

Charlotte, NC. - The top-ranked Syracuse Orange left no doubt in the 2031 ACC Championship Game, steamrolling #18 Florida State 56-14 at Bank of America Stadium. Quarterback Immanuel Hendrix led the charge, throwing for 336 yards and four touchdowns while adding a rushing score as Syracuse secured a likely top seed in the College Football Playoff.

Florida State’s lone bright spot came late in the second quarter when quarterback Manny Logan connected on a pair of big plays. First, he found Darren Carmona for a 26-yard strike before hitting Ben Castaneda on a 50-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 21-7. A fumble on the ensuing kickoff by Syracuse returner Spencer Everett gave the Seminoles another chance, and Logan capitalized with a five-yard scramble on third down to make it a 21-14 game with just under two minutes remaining in the half—the closest Florida State would get.

Hendrix responded with a near-perfect two-minute drill, completing five quick passes before audibling out of a screen play and running it in himself from two yards out, putting Syracuse ahead 28-14 at halftime.

The second half was all Orange. Florida State opened with the ball, but Heisman contender Jason Veasy recorded his second sack of the game to stall the drive. Hendrix wasted no time extending the lead, finding Dalton Wear for a 30-yard touchdown on the next possession. Wear, who finished with six catches for 134 yards and two scores, torched the Seminoles’ secondary all game.

Syracuse’s defense stifled Florida State, allowing just 108 total yards in the second half and holding them to 241 for the game while recording three sacks and 15 tackles for loss. The Orange tacked on 21 more second-half points before both teams subbed in backups for the fourth quarter.

With the emphatic victory, Syracuse is all but assured the #1 seed in the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, in the Big 12 Championship, Ball State stunned undefeated TCU 39-25, securing their first conference title in just their second season in the league. Quarterback Anthony Elam overcame two early interceptions to throw for 486 yards and four touchdowns.

With Syracuse and Ball State expected to claim the top two seeds, both teams will await the final CFP rankings to see who they will face in the quarterfinals.

      The Road To Indianapolis

With five teams in the top 10 of the rankings idle during Conference Championship weekend, the College Football Playoff committee faced minimal drama in finalizing the postseason lineup.

"Regardless of the Big 12 and SEC championship results, all four top contenders were already guaranteed a spot," revealed an insider familiar with the process.

One of those locks was Syracuse, which was expected to retain their spot in the Playoff even if the Seminoles pulled off an upset. That left two spots open, putting pressure on East Carolina and Louisiana Tech to win their respective conference championships in the AAC and Sun Belt.

East Carolina delivered a hard-fought 14-11 victory over UConn, while Louisiana Tech stumbled, suffering just its third loss of the season in a 22-11 defeat to Tulsa.

Syracuse secured its place atop the rankings with a win in the ACC Championship Game, clinching one of the four first-round byes alongside Ball State (Big 12), Alabama (SEC), and East Carolina (AAC). With one conference championship still to be played, but none involving teams ranked in the top 12, #13 Oregon leaped over Louisiana Tech—who held steady in the rankings despite their loss—to claim the 12th playoff spot as the Pac-12 champion.

"That's the reality of college football today," Colin Cowherd remarked on his FS1 program. "You can go undefeated all season, but if you don't win your conference championship, your spot isn't guaranteed. Are Bulldogs fans disappointed? Sure. But they can only blame themselves for missing out."

With the seeding finalized, attention now shifts to the first-round matchups:

#12 Oregon travels to Norman to take on #5 Oklahoma, with the winner earning a trip to the Rose Bowl to face #4 East Carolina.

#9 Virginia Tech heads west to Austin to battle #8 Texas, the SEC runner-up. The winner advances to the Sugar Bowl to meet #1 Ball State.

#11 Ole Miss will square off against #6 TCU in Fort Worth, with a spot in the Orange Bowl and a showdown with #3 Alabama on the line.

#10 Georgia makes the journey north to South Bend to take on #7 Notre Dame, with the victor advancing to the Cotton Bowl to challenge defending back-to-back national champion Syracuse, which aims to become just the second team ever to win three consecutive titles.

As the road to Indianapolis begins, the stakes couldn’t be higher for these 12 teams vying for a national championship.

Veasy Makes History Look Easy With Dominant Senior Season

A defensive end had never won the Heisman Memorial Trophy until Veasy’s historic achievement last season. Now, he has once again etched his name into history, becoming only the third player ever to win a second Heisman Trophy. He joins an elite club alongside former Ball State quarterback and current Syracuse coordinator Kadin Semonza, as well as Ohio State legend Archie Griffin.

"While individual awards aren’t more important than on-field success, joining one of the most exclusive clubs in college football was definitely on my bucket list this season," Veasy said at the awards ceremony.

"After last year’s National Championship, I was fully prepared to enter the NFL Draft. But when initial projections had me listed as a fifth-round pick, I decided to take it out on the rest of the college football landscape."

For anyone who doubted Veasy’s abilities, he delivered a statement season. Already the NCAA’s all-time sacks leader after his junior year, he added a league leading 23.5 sacks as a senior, pushing his career total to a staggering 94.5—with the College Football Playoff still to come.

When asked if his underwhelming draft projection motivated him, Veasy revealed that an email from draft analysts, titled "Early Day 3," became his phone’s lock screen for the entire season—a daily reminder of whom he was determined to prove wrong.

As if securing a second Heisman wasn’t enough, Veasy also collected a slew of other prestigious honors, including the Nagurski, Bednarik, Lombardi, Maxwell, and Walter Camp Awards.

His teammates also found success: Lee Browner took home the Doak Walker Award, while cornerback Kevin Schweitzer earned the Thorpe Award.

Jason Veasy’s warpath continues next week as the Orange await the winner of the first-round playoff matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

I was surprised Ball State jumped us for #1, but they did beat the 4th ranked team in the country who was previously undefeated. The way the 1st round worked out Ball State gets a chance to revenge a huge loss from a few playoffs ago and Cuse faces a rival in ND with one of the top senior QBs in the nation. should be a good matchup for both squads

LEFT - Roy McCleon elevating and showing off the footwork on this 52 yard touchdown to give Syracuse an early 10-0 lead.
CENTER LEFT - The Irish defense managed to secure three turnovers, including two interceptions, but were unable to capitalize on the miscues as they were quickly buried by Syracuse.
CENTER RIGHT - Dalton Wear pointing to the lone Notre Dame defender, seemingly challenging him to a footrace that Wear would win on the 51 yard TD.
RIGHT - Brad Wells with one of the few explosive plays for Notre Dame, swatting away the arm tackling before exploding 73 yards to the end zone.

Arlington, TX. - The second-seeded Syracuse Orange punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff Semifinals in emphatic fashion, dismantling No. 6 Notre Dame 66-13 in the Cotton Bowl. Behind a relentless defense and a high-powered offensive attack, the Orange overwhelmed the Fighting Irish from start to finish, securing their place in the Peach Bowl against Alabama with a chance to reach a third consecutive national championship.

Despite a shaky start that included an early fumble by running back Lee Browner and a red-zone interception by quarterback Immanuel Hendrix, Syracuse seized control of the game behind a dominant defensive performance and an explosive passing attack. The Orange racked up 367 yards of total offense in the first half (258 passing, 109 rushing), while their defense stifled Notre Dame, allowing just 137 first-half yards.

After a Desmond Brewer 35-yard field goal opened the scoring, Hendrix connected with Roy McCleon for a 52-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. The second quarter saw Syracuse turn up the heat, with Hendrix hitting Dalton Wear for touchdown passes of 51 and 75 yards, while also adding a 6-yard rushing touchdown of his own. Despite a brief Notre Dame spark from Brad Wells’ 73-yard touchdown run, the Orange took a commanding 31-10 halftime lead.

Syracuse’s defense continued its suffocating effort after the break, highlighted by four total sacks and a relentless pass rush that limited Notre Dame to just 217 yards of total offense. Browner atoned for his early fumble with a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, extending the lead to 38-10.

The final quarter turned into a nightmare for Notre Dame, as the Orange defense feasted on backup quarterback Jon Duck. Two strip-sack fumble recoveries for touchdowns, by Jermaine Boutte (1-yard return) and Demetrious Vilma (33-yard return), put an exclamation mark on Syracuse’s dominance. Hendrix added one more touchdown pass, a 22-yarder to Jeffrey Franz, and Browner capped off the scoring with a 2-yard rushing touchdown.

With the win, Syracuse moves on to the CFP Semifinals in the Peach Bowl, where they will face SEC Champion Alabama. The Orange will look to continue their dominance as they seek a third straight National Championship appearance.

Meanwhile, in other quarterfinal action, Ball State’s postseason struggles continued, as quarterback Anthony Elam threw six interceptions in a disastrous playoff outing. The former national champions remain winless in the postseason since their 2027 title.

For Syracuse, this blowout victory reaffirms their place among college football’s elite. With their high-octane offense and suffocating defense, the Orange are one step closer to another shot at glory.

Alabama and Ogle look like the real deal should be a good game I would think but I don't know if the Orange can be stopped.

The crazy thing is I played the Ball State and then the Syracuse games back to back, but Ball State can't complete a pass while Hendrix his two separate bombs and was efficient despite two picks. I do run the ball more with Syracuse, but in the Clemson play book there aren't a ton of running plays I have confidence in, so we tend to pass to set up the run which gets us into trouble. I'm switching the offensive playbook next season. I don't want to use the same custom playbook as Savage to avoid it getting repetitive so I'm leaning towards USC again or Oregon, who I used with Kliff. Or maybe UNLVs multiple, I used that in an unposted dynasty and had a lot of fun. But we'll see.

I'm curious to see who emerges from the Red River Rivalry part 2, but I feel like the Bama game is our Natty. If we can beat the CPUs love for Bama we should be home free

You and Deuce have to be the quickest dynasty reporters on here - I'm off the grid for a week and come back to a full season's worth of games.

Congrats on another natty to end last year. Surprised by the season-opening loss to Tennessee, but the team seems to have rebounded well. Veasy is an absolute monster... I think I saw he was in the high 80s overall, yet has now won two Heismans - what is it that makes him so dominant? Shame we won't get the Ball State-Syracuse title tilt as I expected when seeing the bracket, but it should a tough road to a third title either way with the number of bluebloods remaining.

Lol I try and play/post a game a day, but on my off days I can usually get two in depending on what the kids have going on. I've had enough downtime at work where I can do the extracurricular stuff there and just post it when I get home, so that's helped.

Veasy was a 89 to start the season and is up to a 93 now. But even as a freshman he had 87 (95 now plus 88 power rush) in finesse moves and 94 strength, plus a quick jump badge meaning he gets off the line quicker. If I can time the snap count right with him, which happens about 4-5 times a game, he's shedding his defender while the QB is still dropping back. I try and load the opposite side of line as well, so if the QB gets flushed they're rolling to his side. And I keep him at LE, so he gets lined up on the RT or RG generally, usually the RT is a lower rating than the LT so he gets a favorable matchup.

With a minute remaining and Alabama starting near field goal range after a late INT by Immanuel Hendrix, Heisman winning DE Jason Veasy made the play of the game stripping TJ Ogle before MLB Ernie McHugh scooped and delivered the 51 yard TD to put Syracuse up 28-21.

LEFT - TJ Ogle opened the scoring quickly on the vaunted Orange defense with this 67 yard slant and go to Max Bredeson to put Alabama on the board before some fans had even found their seats.
CENTER - Despite TJ Ogle accumulating 374 passing yards, the Orange were impactful with 10 sacks and three turnovers, all which occurred in the final minute of the Peach Bowl.
RIGHT - Immanuel Hendrix getting rocked as he rolled out to start the 3rd quarter, resulting in one of his two interceptions. The Cuse defense would stand tall with three sacks to force a long field goal that would sail wide left.

Atlanta, GA. - In a thrilling College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Peach Bowl, No. 2 Syracuse punched its ticket to a third straight national championship with a dramatic 35-21 victory over No. 3 Alabama. The Orange overcame four nullified touchdowns due to penalties and a late Alabama rally before sealing the game with a defensive masterclass in the final minute.

Alabama struck first in stunning fashion, as quarterback TJ Ogle connected with Max Bredeson for a 67-yard touchdown on just the second play from scrimmage, giving the Crimson Tide a 7-0 lead only 45 seconds into the game. Syracuse struggled to find early momentum, as two first-half touchdowns—a 50-yard run by Lee Browner and a 75-yard bomb to Roy McCleon—were wiped out by holding penalties. Despite this, the Orange clawed their way back in the second quarter. Quarterback Immanuel Hendrix found Dalton Wear for a 46-yard touchdown, and then followed it up with a 58-yard strike to Jeffrey Franz, giving Syracuse a 14-7 lead. Alabama responded before halftime with a 3-yard Quincy Beebe touchdown run, tying the game at 14. Syracuse had a chance to take the lead before the break, but kicker Desmond Brewer sailed a 44-yard field goal attempt wide left.

The Orange took control early in the third quarter, opening with a methodical 11-play drive capped off by a 1-yard Hendrix touchdown run to give them a 21-14 lead. Alabama’s offense sputtered against Syracuse’s relentless pass rush, and after an interception by Alex Bierria set up the Tide deep in Syracuse territory, the ‘Cuse Crushers’ defense responded with three consecutive sacks to force a missed 54-yard field goal attempt.

The fourth quarter was a rollercoaster of emotions. Syracuse had two more long touchdowns called back—both 50+ yard catch-and-runs by Dalton Wear—bringing their total to four negated scores on the night. Alabama finally found life with just over two minutes left when Ogle hit Bruce Bibbs for 35 yards and then scrambled for 27 yards before Gregory Caver’s 3-yard touchdown run tied the game at 21 with 1:25 remaining.

The drama reached its peak when Hendrix’s deep shot to Wear was intercepted by CB George Lewis, setting Alabama up at the Syracuse 43-yard line with 1:21 to play. With all momentum swinging in Alabama’s favor, the ‘Cuse Crushers’ defense delivered a legendary response. Heisman-winning DE Jason Veasy notched his third sack of the game, stripping the ball from Ogle, and linebacker Ernie McHugh scooped it up and rumbled 51 yards for a defensive touchdown, putting Syracuse back in front 28-21 with just 1:11 left.

Alabama’s collapse was complete moments later, as McHugh intercepted Ogle on the very next play, setting up a 21-yard touchdown to Wear that extended the lead to 35-21 in a stunning 40-second sequence. Ogle tried to engineer a last-ditch drive, but his final pass was intercepted by Kevin Schweitzer, securing Syracuse’s place in the national championship.

With the victory, Syracuse advances to face No. 7 Texas in the national title game, where they’ll look to become the first team since Minnesota in the 1930s to win three straight national championships.
