-92 rushing yards by Boyett.. That's a rough day in the office...

Let's go get #2... Little surprised with how well Arkansas is doing.. They were actually pretty decent in my Coach Scott Dynasty, but not so much in my current one.

When he had time he was slinging it, but hard to complete passes when you're on your back in .5 seconds. The Boise State Oline was pretty weak on paper outside of the center position, so I felt like as long as we could get pressure he could hopefully knock him off his rhythm. He's a great passer though, 95+ in all of his accuracy ratings and a 93 THP, just needed a few more seconds back there.

And yeah very surprsied about Arkansas. I almost moved them back into the SEC instead of A&M, but with Texas and OK in the SEC it felt better to put one of their closer rivals than Arkansas. They've got a lot of speed and the QB gets it to them in a hurry. And they ran the ball pretty frequently in the sim, but the two games I played them (they beat Ball State in the regular season) they barely ran it so not sure whats up with that.

About to post the game, it was a helluva game

LEFT - Percy Widmer played his heart out, but came up just short despite 589 yards and 7 touchdowns, including this 79 yard pass to Theo Madison while avoiding Heisman winner Jason Veasy.
CENTER LEFT - Widmer made tossed two 2nd half INTs, with this one beging the worst as it set up a 32 yard FG that would prove to be the difference.
CENTER RIGHT - Dalton Wear giving the Orange a needed insurance touchdown with the 69 yard punt return, seen here beating the last man standing with a quick cut before accelerating into the end zone.
RIGHT - Immanuel Hendrix may not have the gaudy stats of his counterpart, but the freshman showed poise beyond his years once again with a gutsy performance despite multiple sacks, finishing with 385 passing yards and 5 total touchdowns in his 1st National Championship.

Tampa, FL. - In an unforgettable national championship showdown, the Syracuse Orange cemented their place in history, surviving a high-octane battle with the Arkansas Razorbacks to secure a thrilling 59-56 victory at Raymond James Stadium. The win capped a perfect 16-0 season for the Orange and delivered back-to-back national titles to head coach Nash Savage’s squad in a game that will be remembered as one of the greatest in college football history.

The fireworks started early, with Arkansas striking first on a 36-yard field goal before Syracuse responded with back-to-back 1-yard touchdown runs from Trenton Gilliam and Immanuel Hendrix to take a 14-3 lead. However, the Razorbacks, led by star quarterback Percy Widmer, exploded in the second quarter. Widmer connected with Theo Madison for a stunning 79-yard touchdown before a field goal and two scoring strikes to Freddie Ricks—one from seven yards and another from 36—gave Arkansas a commanding 27-14 lead with just 14 seconds left in the half.

Just when it seemed the Razorbacks would take that momentum into the locker room, Syracuse struck back. A quick 18-yard completion to Carlos Simms set up a desperation heave from Hendrix, who found Danny Pace streaking downfield for a 57-yard touchdown as time expired. The dramatic score cut the deficit to 27-21 at halftime and breathed life into the Orange heading into the third quarter.

That jolt carried into the second half as Syracuse opened with a 10-play drive capped by a 3-yard touchdown pass from Hendrix to Dalton Wear, reclaiming the lead at 28-27. Widmer, however, remained lethal, responding with a crisp drive to regain the advantage, hitting Madison for a 16-yard score and converting the two-point attempt to push Arkansas ahead 35-28.

Once again, Hendrix delivered in crunch time, launching a 75-yard bomb to Simms on the very next play to tie the game at 35 as the third quarter wound down. But Arkansas wasn’t finished. The Razorbacks opened the fourth with a 22-yard strike to Tito Hagg to go up 42-35. Syracuse answered with a bruising eight-play drive, capped by Lee Browner’s 1-yard touchdown run, tying the game once again. Browner, stepping up for an injured JC Hoag, finished with 88 yards on just eight carries and a pivotal score.

A key turning point came on Arkansas’s next possession. Facing third-and-eight, Widmer made his first major mistake, failing to recognize linebacker Clay Mooney sitting in coverage. Mooney jumped the pass for a critical interception. Though Syracuse couldn’t fully capitalize, the turnover set up a 32-yard Desmond Brewer field goal, giving the Orange a 45-42 edge.

Moments later, Syracuse delivered what seemed to be the knockout blow. After a three-and-out by Arkansas, Wear fielded a punt, weaved through traffic, and torched the coverage for a 69-yard return touchdown, pushing the lead to 52-42 with just 2:39 remaining.

But Widmer and the Razorbacks weren’t done. The junior quarterback orchestrated a lightning-fast drive, ending with a 24-yard touchdown to Ricks to make it 52-49 with 1:42 left. Arkansas had all three timeouts and elected to kick deep, hoping for a defensive stand.

Instead, Savage kept his foot on the gas. On second down, Hendrix noticed the Razorbacks loading the box and audibled at the line. Seeing his favorite target in single coverage, he let it fly—hitting Wear in stride for a game-sealing 67-yard touchdown.

“They were stacking the box, hoping we’d run it out,” Savage said postgame. “But we don’t play defensively when we have a chance to seal the deal. I told Immanuel if he had a look he liked, he had the green light to let it rip—and he did just that.”

With the Orange up 59-49, Arkansas had one last miracle left. On fourth-and-26, Widmer somehow found Madison for a 91-yard touchdown, keeping the Razorbacks alive with 44 seconds left. However, the ensuing onside kick bounced straight into the arms of the Orange hands team, and Syracuse ran out the clock to claim their second consecutive national championship.

Widmer put up a historic performance, throwing for 589 yards and seven touchdowns, but his two costly interceptions loomed large. Hendrix, while not as flashy, was equally brilliant, finishing 17-of-29 for 385 yards and five total touchdowns (four passing, one rushing). Wear was named MVP, contributing three second-half touchdowns, including the game-clinching score and the pivotal punt return.

Syracuse’s defense, despite surrendering massive yardage, made their presence felt with eight sacks—including 2.5 from Veasy—and two takeaways. In the end, it was just enough to hold off Arkansas in an instant classic, securing the Orange’s place as the kings of college football once again.

Ball State Cardinals 2030 Season Recap

The Ball State Cardinals' inaugural season in the Big 12 was, by most accounts, a success. However, inside the program, it ended in yet another frustrating conclusion to a promising campaign. After a scorching 10-0 start—including the program’s first-ever victory over Notre Dame—the Cardinals stumbled late, suffering a crucial loss in Fayetteville to Arkansas. That defeat left them needing outside help to reach their sixth consecutive conference championship game, but Arkansas’ season-ending victory over Missouri officially shut Ball State out of contention.

Despite missing the Big 12 title game, the Cardinals secured their fifth straight College Football Playoff berth. However, their postseason woes continued, as senior quarterback Titus Awe’s five-turnover meltdown led to an early exit. Since their 2027 national championship under Nash Savage, Ball State has gone 0-3 in playoff appearances, leaving fans eager for a breakthrough.

One area of stability heading into 2031 is the coaching staff, as Mark Stoops returns for his second season in Muncie—an encouraging sign after years of coaching turnover. But looming questions persist, particularly on offense, with the departures of four-year standouts Legend Ogbogu and Cortez Duval, as well as three-year starting quarterback Titus Awe.

“The Cardinals have lived and died by Awe over the past three years—for better or worse,” ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit noted. “Next season will be telling. Was it the play-calling that forced Awe into difficult situations, leading to an NCAA-high 95 interceptions in his career? Or was it simply his inability to adapt to defenses?”

Awe’s production was nothing short of electrifying at times. He amassed over 15,000 passing yards, 175 touchdown passes, and added another 2,000 yards with 40 rushing scores. However, in all five of Ball State’s losses over the past three seasons, Awe’s struggles were a common denominator, throwing at least four interceptions in each defeat.

“Turnovers have obviously been an issue, not just this season but in years prior,” head coach Mark Stoops admitted. “Whether that’s on the players or the coaching staff is irrelevant—we simply have to be better to sustain the level of success that’s now expected in Muncie.”

As the Cardinals turn the page to 2031, the biggest question mark remains at quarterback. Backup PJ Barmore, who has spent the last three seasons behind Awe, is in line to take over, but former four-star recruit Taylor Beckner is also waiting for his shot. Whoever wins the starting job will inherit a wealth of talent in the passing game.

Redshirt freshman Robby Van Maanen emerged as a dynamic playmaker from the slot, racking up 1,542 yards and 19 touchdowns. Meanwhile, converted running back Spencer McElmurry thrived at tight end, hauling in 1,514 yards and 13 scores. Together, they formed one of the nation’s most formidable receiving duos.

The pieces are in place for Ball State to finally break through in 2031 and claim another College Football Playoff victory. However, their success will hinge on one critical factor—limiting turnovers. If they can solve that problem, the Cardinals could be in for a special season.

Winning On And Off The Field - Savage Secures #1 Class

Syracuse, NY. - As if winning back-to-back National Championships wasn’t enough, the Syracuse Orange continue to dominate off the field as well, securing the No. 1 overall recruiting class for 2030. The Orange originally entered the offseason ranked third, but a late surge—highlighted by the commitments of two four-star linemen (one at center and one at defensive tackle)—vaulted them past Ball State and Texas (which slipped to fifth) to claim the top spot.

With many expecting Heisman-winning defensive end Jason Veasy to make the jump to the NFL, Syracuse put a heavy emphasis on bolstering the defensive line, landing three elite prospects at the position. Headlining the group are Nate Pitoitua (No. 12 overall) and Isaiah Largent (No. 13 overall), two dominant edge rushers who are expected to redshirt after Veasy’s surprising decision to return for his senior season.

While Syracuse’s depth on both sides of the ball makes it difficult for true freshmen to break into the rotation, a few incoming players could make an immediate impact. Keep an eye on Cam Darr, the No. 9 overall prospect, as well as cornerbacks Patrick Rimpf and Shariff Williams, who might see early playing time in a secondary that showed some vulnerability in the National Championship.

“Both Pat and Reef have exceptional cover skills for guys coming straight out of high school,” said head coach Nash Savage. “If there’s one area we need to shore up, it’s the secondary, and those two are going to have every opportunity to prove themselves early.”

To replace graduating center Dennis Strong, the Orange turned to the transfer portal, landing former Virginia Cavalier Derek Metzger, a four-star veteran who will bring experience to an already loaded offensive line.

“Derek has a great skill set, and we were thrilled to bring him in,” Savage said. “Anytime you can grab talent from a rival, it’s a win-win—you strengthen your team while taking away from your competition.”

While Syracuse claimed the top spot, Savage’s former program, Ball State, finished with the No. 3 class, signing 27 total prospects, including four five-stars.

In total, the Orange secured 21 recruits—four five-stars, 16 four-stars, and just one three-star—the fewest total commitments of any team in the top 20, further emphasizing the sheer quality of their incoming class. With the way Syracuse continues to reload, their reign atop college football shows no signs of slowing down.

I wouldn't want to face either one of those D-Line's.. Holy crap...

How good is the QB transfer for Ball State.. Just a backup or does he have a legit shot at replacing Awe

I was completely shocked when Veasy was listed as a projected 5th round pick and had a "Very Easy" persuasion attempt, I'd loaded up on Dline prospects anticipating having to replace him. Now they all get to redshirt a year and get even better lol For Ball State, I knew Dove was leaving. I guess the sim defense gives up a ton of rushing yards because all of my run stopper defenders had an F for playstyle and it was Phillips and Dove's deal breakers. Going to rotate a bunch of guys around to see who makes the biggest impact.

The QB is an 82 OVR, so he's going to battle it out with Beckner for the starting job. Barmore got moved to RB, even though he was an 82 OVR QB as well, my highest rated HB before progression was a 72 true freshman, but Barmore was an 85 OVR HB so he moved over. I used him sparingly when we were up big and I never got a good feel for him, so I don't think he would have beat out either Elam or Beckner.

                            Syracuse Orange 2031 Season Preview

Syracuse, NY. - Back-to-back national champions. A team reloading rather than rebuilding. And a star pass rusher returning with something to prove. The Syracuse Orange enter the 2031 season with high expectations despite key departures on both sides of the ball.

Syracuse may be replacing eight starters, but head coach Nash Savage believes the most critical piece remains intact—defensive end Jason Veasy.

“When he told me he was only being projected as a fifth-round pick, I just said, ‘Well, come back and prove why they’re just analysts and not experts,’” Savage said of his record-setting defensive end’s decision to return for his senior season.

“I told him, ‘If you really want to catch the scouts’ attention, take the sack record to another level.’ My goal for him this season is 30 sacks, pushing his career total past 100,” exclaimed Nash Savage.

Veasy anchors a defensive unit that terrorized offenses last year, even as they struggled to contain Arkansas’ passing attack in the national championship. With only two starters—MLB Max Shaver and CB Deron Wusu—departing for the NFL, the Orange return a battle-tested group ready to dominate once again.

“I know our secondary took some punches last year,” Savage admitted. “But this year, our guys at cornerback are all on the same page. We had a bit of a mismatch last season between Deron, a zone guy, and the man coverage guys I’ve been bringing in. Now, we’ve got cohesion in the back end. And having a menacing front seven will certainly help them out.”

While the defense remains largely intact, the offense faces a bigger transition with multiple playmakers moving on. However, the Orange appear more than ready to reload.

Replacing all-time leading rusher JC Hoag is no small task, but redshirt sophomore Lee Browner proved in last season’s ACC title game that he’s ready for the spotlight. Similarly, while veteran receivers Felix Redwine and Carlos Simms provided reliability, it was sophomores Dalton Wear and Roy McCleon who became QB Immanuel Hendrix’s go-to targets last season.

Up front, Syracuse will need to replace stalwarts Tyler Bland at left guard and Dennis Strong at center, but the addition of former Virginia Cavalier Derek Metzger provides a steadying presence alongside two of the country’s best tackles—Antwan Calmelat and Antwaun Loudermilk.

And then there’s Hendrix. The sophomore sensation shattered school records for passing yards and touchdowns as a freshman, leading Syracuse to a title in his first year as a starter. Now, he returns with not only another national championship in his sights but also the Heisman Trophy.

Syracuse’s title defense begins with a blockbuster Week 1 showdown against SEC champion Tennessee in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 clash under the dome. From there, the schedule doesn’t get any easier, with a road trip to Penn State and a home matchup against reigning Pac-12 champion USC before conference play begins.

In ACC action, Syracuse faces crossover games against Georgia Tech and Wake Forest, with a potential ACC Championship-deciding battle against Miami looming in Week 14.

With talent, experience, and championship pedigree, the Orange are primed for another title run. The question isn’t whether they’ll compete—it’s whether anyone can stop them.

Ball State Cardinals 2031 Season Preview

Muncie, IN. - Despite six straight seasons of double-digit wins and five consecutive College Football Playoff appearances, the Ball State Cardinals still feel like they’ve been treading water since their 2027 National Championship.

“You can feel it from the fan base and certainly within the building,” admitted head coach Mark Stoops, now in his second year—making him the first Ball State coach to reach Year 2 since Nash Savage did so in 2026.

Since Savage’s departure for Syracuse, the Cardinals have made the CFP every season but have yet to win a playoff game. While a sixth straight trip to the postseason would be an achievement for most programs, don’t tell that to quarterback Anthony Elam.

“We aren’t just trying to make it,” scoffed the former Iowa State signal-caller. “We’re planning on making some noise.”

Quarterback is the biggest question mark heading into 2031 following the departure of Titus “Rollercoaster” Awe. Awe’s big-play ability electrified fans, but his 75-plus career turnovers often left coaches frustrated.

Originally expected to be a three-man competition for the starting job, the race has come down to Elam and redshirt sophomore Taylor Beckner, leaving many to wonder about longtime backup PJ Barmore’s role.

                            The answer? A position change.

“PJ may not be in the mix for quarterback, but he’s still going to be starting—just at running back,” Stoops revealed.

With Cortez Duval and Legend Ogbogu off to the NFL, running back was a glaring need. Rather than rely on a backfield of Connor Higdon (70 OVR), Floyd Gallimore (70 OVR), and freshman Brendan Eisen, Ball State opted to convert the elusive Barmore into a full-time rusher.

“You’ve seen plenty of teams succeed with this move,” Stoops explained. “Not only does it help our team, but it gives him a chance to showcase his skills to scouts in his final year of eligibility.”

Whoever wins the starting quarterback job won’t lack firepower. Wide receiver Robby Van Maanen returns after a breakout campaign, while former running back-turned-tight end Spencer McElmurry remains a dynamic weapon after racking up over 1,500 yards in the Big 12 last season.

Ball State opens with an in-state rivalry matchup against Purdue before heading to DeKalb to defend the Bronze Stalk Trophy for the seventh straight season. From there, the Cardinals face former head coach Kliff Kingsbury and Michigan—where Kingsbury reportedly sits on the hot seat after two underwhelming seasons—before wrapping up non-conference play with a trip to Eugene to battle Oregon.

Conference play offers no reprieve. Road tests at Houston and Kansas State loom large, while a Week 13 showdown against Arkansas gives Ball State the chance to avenge last season’s loss—a defeat that kept them from their first Big 12 Championship Game appearance. The matchup also serves as an opportunity to prove they can still compete at a national level against the 2030 national runner-up.

Ball State cemented itself among college football’s elite with an 11-2 record in its Big 12 debut last season. Now, fans and administrators are eager for that success to translate to a deeper playoff run. With a revamped backfield, explosive playmakers, and a brutal schedule, 2031 could be the season the Cardinals finally re-emerge as a postseason threat.

                              2031 Syracuse Orange Pre-Season Recruiting

Syracuse, NY. - With 17 seniors set to graduate and several juniors expected to declare for the NFL Draft, Syracuse enters the 2031 recruiting cycle with a significant number of roster spots to fill. Yet, thanks to strategic roster management, the Orange once again find themselves without a glaring need.

“They’ve done a great job forecasting when talent will leave and restocking the cupboard a year in advance, so they’re never overly reliant on a handful of freshmen,” an insider from Rivals 24/7 noted.

Despite the impending departures of star defensive ends Jason Veasy and Robert Foster, defensive line isn’t expected to be a major priority this cycle. Syracuse went all-in on edge rushers in the 2030 class, landing three highly touted prospects who will now have a full season to develop under the NCAA’s all-time sacks leader rather than being thrown into the fire immediately.

Instead, the Orange are expected to pursue elite talent across the board, reinforcing their back-to-back national championship roster with top-tier recruits at multiple positions. Quarterback will likely be a key focus, with the expectation that Immanuel Hendrix’s junior season could be his last in upstate New York.

Syracuse has mastered the art of reloading rather than rebuilding, and with another strong recruiting class, the Orange will be well-positioned to extend their dominance well beyond 2031.
