LEFT - Cole Soto calling out blocks on his way to a 59 yard punt return TD.
CENTER - While Salako is a walking highlight reel, his passing mechanics could still use some work evidenced by this interception as a result of an ugly overthrow.
RIGHT - Another freshman making noise is SS Cory Lane, who recorded two more sacks on the afternoon.

Athens, GA. - The #5 Georgia Bulldogs bounced back in dominant fashion on Saturday, steamrolling Mississippi State 49–16 in a performance that head coach Nash Savage called their “most complete game of the season.” Georgia set the tone early, scoring on three of their first four drives, with the only blemish being an interception late in the first half. DaShawn Salako was sensational, accounting for four total touchdowns—including three on the ground—and leading an efficient offense that didn’t miss a beat despite key injuries in the backfield.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 14–0 lead in the first quarter behind a 6-yard touchdown pass from Salako to Kalen Hurt and a dynamic 59-yard punt return touchdown by freshman Cole Soto. Mississippi State’s offense managed to move the ball in the second quarter, but a missed field goal and two short makes by Emanuel York were all they could muster despite a Georgia turnover in plus territory. Soto added a one-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, and after the Salako interception, Georgia’s junior quarterback answered with a masterclass two-minute drill, capped off by a 2-yard touchdown run as the clock expired in the first half to give the Bulldogs a commanding 28–6 lead.

Salako added rushing touchdowns in the third and early fourth quarters, extending Georgia’s lead to 42–6 before backup quarterback Tory Atwell connected with Dom Short on a 48-yard bomb. Mississippi State added a late 1-yard touchdown run by John Wolfe and another field goal by York, but the outcome was never in doubt.

Georgia’s offense looked strong despite the absence of star halfback Rudy Gaskin, who missed the game due to injury. Kalen Hurt started in his place and scored early but was lost for the next seven weeks with a dislocated hip suffered in the second quarter. That leaves the Bulldogs with true freshman Zach Gaskin and sophomore Dexter Gaudent in the backfield moving forward. Nevertheless, Salako’s 84 rushing yards helped keep the ground game humming, as Georgia wore down Mississippi State on both sides of the ball.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were far more consistent than in last week’s collapse against Auburn. They tightened up in the red zone, holding Mississippi State to just one touchdown and forcing them into multiple field goal attempts, including a miss that stifled any chance of momentum.

Following the win, Georgia improved to 5–1 on the season and reaped the benefits on the recruiting trail, landing a commitment from the nation’s #4 overall player, linebacker Kevin Crook, along with 4-star prospects LB Kyran Stokke, CB Nick Martini, and CB Jeremiah DeMarco.

Next week, Georgia heads to Louisville for a critical SEC matchup against the Cardinals. Meanwhile, in the Big 12, Ball State continued its strong campaign with a 31–17 win over Texas Tech, extending its winning streak to five after an opening loss to Oregon.

The dreaded RB injuries are hitting.... Well it gives you a chance to play the young guy's and see what your future looks like, Rudy is a huge loss.. 34 weeks? I don't understand why the CPU thinks there needs to be injuries that last this long... I lost Ezekiel Tandy for 28 weeks.. Luckily it happened during his True Freshman year, so I was able to use his Redshirt for one of the years and then he was able to come back and play as a RS SO for a couple games before playing his entire RS JR season and then declared a year early, so I basically got to play with him for around 30 games total.

Rudy was balling, but Hurt came in after being benched for a few games and was running great then he got hurt too....

The problem now is I only have two healthy HB, both true freshman in Zach Gaskin and Dexter Gaudet. Thankfully, Salako has been a big part of our running game too but I would hate for him to start getting injured from over use. It could definitely be our downfall this season because I don't think Salako is there passing wise to win games by himself, he's still too inconsistent throwing it. One or two bad throws, or worse a turnover, and he goes ice cold.

If it calculated the offseason weeks correctly 34 weeks wouldn't be terrible, but I'm not sure it does. I've never had one more than 8-10 weeks, so I've never tested it, but from what I've seen it looks like there will still be a chuck left next season....

Don't know why they didn't just stick with the season ending tag if it was going to extend psat Week 17, which would be after the Natty, instead of adding weeks onto next seasons. At least that's what Madden used to do, but I haven't played the new one so maybe they revamped that too

LEFT - Louisville looked poised to storm back after Salako's 1st INT of the day lead to Louisville's 2nd consecutive touchdown, trimming the lead to just 21-14.
CENTER - Cole Soto just keeps making plays. The electric freshman socred a touchdown, forced a fumble, and returned a punt 67 yards in the contest.
RIGHT - WR Billy Hoosman turned a simple slant into a 38 yard TD after the earlier interception.

Louisville, KY. - In a high-octane matchup in Louisville, the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs flexed their muscles early and often in a 49-28 victory over the Cardinals, improving to 6-1 on the season. The Bulldogs exploded for 21 unanswered points in the first quarter, taking advantage of a chaotic start by Louisville. Georgia capitalized on a short field after two sacks ended the Cardinals’ opening drive, with freshman halfback Dexter Gaudet capping a quick four-play sequence with a 1-yard touchdown run. Moments later, DaShawn Salako punched in a 1-yard score following a forced fumble by FS Mario Winbush on a promising Lamar Veasy run. On the ensuing kickoff, freshman WR Cole Soto made another impact play, forcing a fumble and finishing the drive himself with a 4-yard touchdown reception from Salako.

Louisville eventually found life in the second quarter, riding Veasy’s legs to a 2-yard touchdown run before CB Taulia Wong picked off Salako, setting up a 38-yard slant touchdown from Stephen Terry to Billy Housman. Salako responded with a 12-play drive, showcasing his ground prowess and finishing it with his second rushing score of the day. Soto then flipped field position again with a 67-yard punt return, leading to a screen pass touchdown to Zach Gaskin. Georgia entered halftime up 35-14.

The second half featured more back-and-forth action, including a wild defensive sequence. After Stephen Terry found CJ Reynaud for a 39-yard score, the Georgia defense came up huge. A flurry of turnovers in a seven-play stretch—an Oscar Allen interception, a second pick by Wong, and a deflected pass hauled in by DT Josh Johns—resulted in a 37-yard interception return touchdown by Johns, putting the Bulldogs up 42-21. In the fourth quarter, Trevante Addae recovered a fumble in the end zone after another Salako scramble was fumbled at the goalline, while Terry connected with Reynaud again on a 76-yard bomb to close the scoring.

Though Salako struggled through the air (13-of-21 for 76 yards, 2 INTs), his dynamic rushing (107 yards and 2 TDs) continued to carry Georgia’s offense. Despite a modest 9:8 touchdown-to-interception ratio, Salako has now totaled 431 rushing yards and 9 scores on the ground. Head coach Nash Savage noted that with Alabama and Florida looming, Salako must tighten up his ball security and passing efficiency.

Off the field, the win paid immediate recruiting dividends. Georgia landed three more commitments for the 2034 class, highlighted by a pair of 5-star tackles—Chester Durant (#16 overall) and Zach Patterson (#18)—and 4-star center Jabari Strange (#441), bolstering the Bulldogs’ already loaded offensive line pipeline.

Meanwhile, Ball State kept its Big 12 title hopes alive with a 35-14 win over Nebraska, continuing its quiet but strong campaign.

I just went back and checked and I forgot how garbage Ohio State has been. 12-2 in 2025 and their best record after that was 9-5 in 2030 with an LA Bowl win. Only two other bowl wins in the last 9 years...yikes. Surprised Day didn't get fired sooner lol

FIU hasn't won a bowl game in the life of this dynasty and their best season has been 6-7 four different times....definitely not comparable to Coach Miller/Dees time there

Oscar Garcia, a Georgia native, continues to make the Bulldogs life miserable with another sparkling performance in the Bama rout.

LEFT - DaShawn Salako with a terrible misthrow as the Bulldogs attempted to take the lead out of the half.
CENTER - Cole Soto hauled in a pair of deep touchdowns to keep Georgia close, but offensive inefficiencies eventually caught up with UGA.
RIGHT - After only tallying 49 rushing yards in the 1st half, Bama ground the Bulldogs defense down with 169 in the 2nd half.

Athens, GA. - It was a long, humbling afternoon in Athens as #2 Georgia was steamrolled by #12 Alabama, 54-28, in a game that slipped further and further away with every passing quarter. Despite explosive plays from freshman WR Cole Soto and an early back-and-forth battle, the Bulldogs were ultimately overmatched—both physically and mentally—by a relentless Crimson Tide team that poured on 21 unanswered points in the final frame.

Georgia kept pace early, with DaShawn Salako hitting Soto for a pair of first-half touchdowns (47 and 50 yards) to match Alabama’s early scores. But each time the Bulldogs struck, the Tide responded with just a little more poise, a little more power. Alabama QB Oscar Garcia carved up the secondary to the tune of 346 yards and four touchdowns, while HB Vai Fujita ran wild in the second half, finishing with 196 yards and two scores.

Even when Georgia showed life—like Salako’s third touchdown strike to Sam Mangold in the third quarter—it never felt like the Dawgs were in control. A fumble, two interceptions, and four sacks later, whatever hope remained vanished in the fourth. Salako, who started the game, finished 11-of-24 for 228 yards with three touchdowns and an interception before being replaced by Tory Atwell in the final quarter. Atwell managed a late score to Soto—his third of the day—but it was little more than a consolation prize in an already lopsided contest.

Alabama’s 49 rushing yards in the first half ballooned to 169 in the second, as Georgia’s defense wore down and broke apart. The Bulldogs drop to 6-2 and will now have to regroup quickly before facing hated rival Florida, with both playoff hopes and pride hanging in the balance.

Yeah, I'm not sure if its the sliders or just this team not meshing well. They are the same sliders I used last season, but for whatever reason it feels we've taken a step back on both sides of the ball. Even though we're 6-2, its a hard fought 6-2. And for whatever reason I just can't complete deep passes with consistency anymore. Guys will have a 5 yard lead on the DB and either it gets way overthrown, or is underthrown and intercepted. I've had the same problem to a lesser degree with Ball State. Juan Franco has 97 THP and 94 DAC, but leaves a lot of balls short, so its not just a matter of Salako not being as gifted throwing the ball. If things continue being ridiculously hard I may switch sliders, but not until after the season. Wouldn't feel right switching to make things a bit easier and then going on a natty run or something.

All that being said, a win against Florida and we're right back in the SEC race with two conference games to go.

Ben Mare read the play perfectly and jumped the short curl route for a 32 yard pick six to spark a 31-0 half for the Dawgs.

LEFT - SR DE Ronnie Momah wasn't about to end his final year at Georgia with an L to their hated rival, pilling on 3 1/2 sacks to smother the Gators offense in the 1st half.
CENTER - After a DaShawn Salako tossed his 2nd INT to open the 2nd half, Max Zylstra took advantage with a 20 yard TD run one play later to finally put Florida on the board.
RIGHT - DaShawn Salako continued to be inconsistent passing the ball, despite 4 touchdowns, but was able to keep the negative plays to a minimum while tallying 245 yards of total offense.

Jacksonville, FL. - In a high-stakes SEC clash with division title implications, #11 Georgia delivered a statement win over hated rival #4 Florida, dominating early and holding off a late surge for a 45-28 victory in Jacksonville. Fueled by a ferocious first half on both sides of the ball, the Bulldogs raced to a 31-0 lead before cruising to their seventh win of the season—and first place in the SEC Southeast.

Georgia wasted no time setting the tone, as cornerback Ben Mare jumped a lazy throw from Florida QB Jalen Tompkins and returned it 32 yards to the house on just the second pass attempt of the game. That early pick-six sparked an avalanche: DaShawn Salako found Zach Gaskin for a short touchdown, then Gaskin punched in another score on the ground to make it 21-0 in the opening quarter. Salako added a 10-yard TD pass to Jon Amerson in the second, and a 29-yard field goal by Quincey Toone sent Georgia into halftime with a commanding 31-0 lead.

The first-half dominance was total. Georgia outgained Florida 224-87, and the Gators’ rushing attack was completely erased—held to minus-27 yards due to four first-half sacks, three coming from senior DE Ronnie Momah, who emphatically declared postgame he wasn’t ending his Georgia career with a loss to “THOSE GUYS.”

Salako’s performance was steady, if unspectacular—19-for-31 for just 148 yards—but he managed the game well outside of back-to-back interceptions that spanned halftime. Florida briefly capitalized on the momentum, running out the first-half clock and scoring on their first second-half drive thanks to a 20-yard run by Max Zylstra. But Salako responded with an 8-minute, 15-play drive capped by a swing pass touchdown to Cole Soto that reasserted control at 38-7.

Florida found life in the fourth quarter behind backup QB Tyler Kalis, who entered trailing by 31 and promptly threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns in just 15 minutes of play. He hit Darren Griffen for an 85-yard strike and found Enrique Marcordes late, but Georgia always had an answer—most notably another short TD pass from Salako to Soto to put the game out of reach.

Despite the win, Georgia took a few hits to its depth chart. Starting middle linebacker Ronnie Fritz exited in the first quarter, and third-string running back Zach Gaskin—starting due to injuries to Kalen Hurt and Rudy Gaskin—left in the fourth after contributing two touchdowns. Fortunately, head coach Nash Savage confirmed postgame that neither injury is expected to keep the players out long-term.

With Alabama falling to Tennessee, Georgia now controls its destiny in the SEC Southeast. A win in two weeks against 3-2 Kentucky would clinch a spot in the SEC Championship Game. The Dawgs will first turn their focus to another rivalry showdown—next week’s battle with Auburn in “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.”

Meanwhile, Ball State showed its own grit with a tough 17-13 win in the rain at Scheumann Stadium, continuing its strong Big 12 campaign.
