Duthie, "Welcome to TSN it looks like the Capital Superstars are all having the bounce back year we expected them to have, things are also looking good for the Preds down in Nashville with multiple rookies up in the race for points and goals."

Duthie, "Well the Caps and Preds have things they are enjoying seeing it seems the Devils are struggling between injury's and inconsistent play from every one who isn't named Ilya or Zack, has them trading wins and losses."

With A. Mair coming off the DL today A. Henrique is beings sent down. The rookie has played very well getting 5 goals and 4 assists in 15 games. That places him 3rd on the rookie points chart and only 1 goal behind the leading rookie goal scorer despite playing 13 less games. We look forward to see this kid when he comes up again.

Duthie, "Big news in the world of Hockey and for the panel as we have lost a member of it. The New Jersey Devils have made a coaching change out with the old and in with the new. The new being Mark Crawford. So far the Devils have bee sitting just below .500 this looks like a move to try and shake things up to see if this team can make a push for the playoffs."

Duthie, "We managed to reach Devils GM Peter McEwen on the firing of Jacques Lemaire, here is what he had to say."

Peter, "By no means what so ever did we fire Coach Lemaire. The orginzation and my self all have the utmost respect for Jacques. He felt with the way the team make up is and for the type of skilled fowards we have, a defense first approach wasn't working. We have lost more than a few games this year wear we only got 1 goal. So not only have we had a hard time scoring but we have also not done a great job limiting scoring chances. I would also like to take this moment to announce my new Director of Hockey Personal Jacques Lemaire, The devils family would also like to announce officially that my assistant GM is Lou Lamoriell. Lou has been in this position since i took over, at first it was only going to be temporary until i got into the flow of things but his love of the team and this organization has led him to agree to sign on as the assistant. Although thats mostly just a title as theres not much of any thing I do with out running it by him first. The 3 of us hope to have the Devils hosting the cup again with in the next few years."

Duthie, "Wow, that was not what I was expecting. I hope things work out for Crawford down in the great stat of New York. That's all until next time, I'm James Duthie, and thanks for watching."

Good choice releasing the coach, thinking of any roster moves?

              Re: The Devils (BEAGM 12)

New Jersey Devils new head Coach Mark Crawford started off his tenure with the franchise with a win, but he also started it by having long time Devils sniper Patrick Elias going down with and injury. He is expected to be out for a week or two. In that time we shall see Rookie Adam Henrique called up, again, TSN caught up with the rookie when he landed.

TSN, "Adam how does it feel to be back after only leaving 3 days ago? Did you even get a chance to suit up for a game?"

Henrique, "Yes, I landed next day I played then after that game I got the call to be on the first flight this morning cuz i was coming back up, to play tonight."

TSN, "Is this travel going to be a strain? Do you think you will be 100% tonight?"

Henrique, "Well i am not complaining I just hope I can play well enough that when Patrick is back I can manage to grab a roster spot."

TSN, "Since you left there has been a coaching change is it going to be hard to learn the new set up?"

Henrique, "No, I mean its not like i have been gone for a month and the rest of the team has had time to adjust to the new coach yet. But I am afraid I am going to have to be going don't want to be late on my first day with the new coach."

Adam Henrique played 1 game before getting injured and since he will not be back to play until after Patrick Elias is, it is safe to say the young center will be going back to Albany.

Wow I had not looked at standings for a wile I am a lot closer to a playoff spot than I thought well I guess I will wait until the end of Jan to make the choice if I want to trade for more draft picks or trade some away to get more talent.

Duthie, "After going 3-2 in the first 5 games in the new year and picking up Toni Ludman off of waivers the Devils have struck a deal with the Blue Jackets."

                    L. Visnovsky
                    2013 2nd round (NJD)

                    2012 1st Round (CBJ)
                    2013 1st Round (CBJ)

Duthie, "That gives New Jersey 3 picks in the first round. Bob what do you think of this trade."

McKenzie, "Well James I like this trade, more so with the pick up of Ludman off of waivers. New Jersey was deep on defense but there system is low on good talent and they are addressing that. This is a team that could make the playoffs this year but might not, and they have more than got them selves ready for a good draft this year.. Columbus a team that well not out of the playoffs yet needed a move to help push them over the edge this could easily be it. I would not be surprised if this move pushes them into top 8 of the west. Visnovsky numbers are down this year but for most of the year they have been playing a more defense first game. This new team should help him with his numbers as well. It shall be interesting to see how this turns out."

McKenzie, "Welcome to trade dealine day. It has been an interesting day to say the least. From no ones surprise New Jersey Devils GM Peter McEwen was the most active, all year long he has not been shy to change his team around to suit his needs. It was the Ducks and Bruins that opened todays trading."

McKenzie, "I would say hands down that Boston won this deal. They now have one of the best defense in the league and an extra pick and all they lost was a goalie who at best would have been in the minors. Next up we have the first Devils trade. You will see threw out the day most of the Waiver wire pick ups they got were traded away."

McKenzie, "This is a great trade for New Jersey. They give up a player that got of the wire and 2 low draft picks for 2 first rounds. Next up we have a historic trade. First trade the new Winnipeg Jets new franchise has made on deadline day."

                      LW. Tanner Glass

McKenzie, "Overall, I think this is a fairly even trade. In the long run I think Calgary won this trade, but Winnipeg is right in the hunt for a playoff spot it would be huge for this new franchise to make the playoffs."

McKenzie, "This trade looks to be more about the kings trying to shed salary and the devils to restock after trading a defense man away. Overall I think both teams got what they wanted."

McKeznie, "This is a trade that didn't do much for ether side 1 minor league player 1 prospect for a 1st round pick. Allen and Lydman balance each other out, overall an even trade for both sides, unless the pick turns out to be a great player."

                      D. Nick Leddy

McKenzie, "This is a great trade Hawks get a player who all season long has just got better and better for the Devils, a player that will help a lot with there push to get the cup. And the Devils get another 1st round. That gives them 5 first round picks in this upcoming draft. They also get a good prospect on the back end. This trade we wont be able to tell who won until at least the end of the playoffs. Thats all for today, thanks for watching Deadline day on TSN."

[left]Tonight was the last game of the regular season for the devils and they did some thing special for long time goalie Martin Brodeur. At the start of the game had a nice video tribute for the goaltender, as well as every player on the ice wearing number 30 on there shoulders. They also used vintage jerseys the ones that they had when Martin was first drafted. Here is the Career numbers for the best goalie to ever grace the game of hockey.

In the first round of the playoffs New Jersey rolled over the top team in the East sweeping the Capitals in 4. With 2 of the games being shut outs. Martin looked to be in top form. In the last game Parise went down with an injury expected to miss the next round. In the second round in the first game Ilya also went down with an injury. That game ended with a loss. The 2 top scores for the Devils have both gone down. After that it was a little surprise that the devils only managed to win 1 game in this series. Martin Brodeur ended his last playoff run with a record of 4-3. Cory played in 2 games with playoffs going 1 and 1.
