Burrows is slaughtering us and Schneider is proving harder to get a puck past than Pekka Rinne

And...it's just basic HTML, not sure what you mean exactly.

Canucks Blast Oilers 6-1, Take Complete Control
      May 5th, 2015
      Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
After snapping a eight year drought of failing to make the playoffs and upsetting the NHL's top seed in round one, Edmonton has been hit with a hard, cold dose of reality after suffering a 6-1 defeat to fall down three games to none.

The Canucks went up 1-0 very early when defensemen Keith Ballard sent a blast from the blue line that got past Brian Elliott and the goals would keep on coming. Burrows tallied his fifth of the series to extend the lead and Blake Bishai scored his first of the post season to give Vancouver a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

In the second period the onslaught continued with another goal from Bishai, as well as scores from Anton Rodin and Stefan Della Rovere to push the lead to 6-0.

Goaltender Brian Elliott was pulled after the poor showing and backup Samu Perhonen would play the entire third period and stop eight of eight shots.

In ten games first line forwards Sam Gagner and Jordan Eberle have a combined one goal thus far in the playoffs, just one sign of many mishaps currently plaguing the Oilers.

Sedin's Finish Off Sweep Of Edmonton Oilers
        May 7th, 2015
        Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Taylor Hall kept the slim hopes alive as the only forward to produce for the Oilers, with the first goal of game four.

Soon though, just as in game three, the flood gates opened on the Oilers as they were ushered out of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 5-2 defeat.

For the first game of the series Alexandre Burrows would fail to score but the Sedin twins would more than make up for it. Henrik Sedin tallied a hat-trick with his brother Daniel assisting on all three goals.

Knowing the door was already shut on their chances this game saw lots of rough play. Four fighting majors were issued and seven minors totalled 34 penaly minutes.

Goalie Brian Elliott was removed for the second straight game and Samu Perhonen stopped the bleeding with seven stops in the third period. On the other side goaltender Cory Schneider finished off a stellar series stopping 36 of 38 shots.

LA Kings Sweep Maple Leafs For Stanley Cup!
For the first time since 2010 a team from the Western Conference has hoisted the Stanley Cup as the Kings swept the Maple Leafs tonight in Toronto.

The Kings had loads of trouble getting to the Finals, being pushed to a game seven in the first round against Detroit and the Western Conference Finals against Vancouver but dominated Toronto, who easily marched to the Finals as an eight seed in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Anze Kopitar was given the Conn Smythe Award as Playoff MVP.

That sucks - well least you got them into the playoffs and past the 1st round. Should find solace in that....

              Good luck with the offseason.

I'm going to throw this dynasty on ice.

Detroit is my far and away favorite team but I always admired Buffalo a little from the Hasek days so some motivation to play was there. Edmonton though, I've got little desire to boot up and play with this franchise.

I'll keep the files and possibly run a few more seasons in the future.

Thanks for following and be sure to be on the look out for more of my dynasties (NHL, NCAA, or FIFA) in the future!

Two Titans Of The Blue Line Retire
This week both Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins and Chris Pronger of the Philadelphia Flyers have announced their retirements leaving huge voids for both teams to fill.

Chara has played with the Bruins since 2006 and 18 total NHL seasons. Pronger played 21 seasons in the NHL, joining Philadelphia in 2009.

Significant NHL forwads Dany Heatley, Martin St. Louis, and Andy McDonald also announced their retirement since seasons end.

Oilers Stock Up On Draft Picks On Draft Day
                                Tampa, Florida
                                June 26th, 2015
Edmonton did not pull off any blockbuster trades like last year when they acquired RW Blake Wheeler an hour before the start of the draft but they did make several moves to perhaps better the the future of the team.

Edmonton made three trades over the first two rounds to dump salary and acquire additional picks. Edmonton did not have their original second round pick due to a trade to acquire Brian Elliott in the middle of last season.

Before the draft started the Oilers sent LW Ben Eager, who was used sparingly after the emergence of LW Mike Willis, to Anaheim for a 5th round selection.

Then the draft began with the Calgary Flames selecting RW Simon Bernier first overall. At the 15th selection the Oilers would take defender Aaron Ekblad from the United States before jumping back into trade discussions.

Edmonton acquired a 2nd round pick by sending Carlo Colaiacovo to the Detroit Red Wings. The Oilers would take LW Danny Wanderwiel with that selection, the second American born player of their draft so far.

In their third and final trade of the day Edmonton dealt another older defender, making way for young defenders such as Brian Stait, Sean Callaghan, and Valeri Koltsov. Deryk Engelland was sent to Winnipeg for a 4th and 6th round selection in this draft. The Oilers would select D Harold Allison and RW Petri Huhtanen with those picks.

All in the all the Oilers organization added ten new players on this day and sent away three older veterans.
