Buffalo Gives Up Three Goals On the Powerplay, Fall To Carolina 3-2
The Carolina Hurricanes scored all three of their goals with the man advantage, with the winning tally coming with three minutes to play (Alexander Semin). Ville Leino scored the first 2 goals of the game, but Mike Weber got a Game Misconduct penalty for cross-checking from behind and the 'Canes scored 2 on the ensuing 5-minute PP. Ryan Miller made 36 saves in the loss.

Sabres Tie Late, Take Shootout Over Caps
Cody McCormick scored with 5 minutes left in the game, and Marcus Foglino scored the lone goal in the shootout to propel Buffalo past Washington 4-3. Matt Moulson scored his first in a while, and Drew Stafford had an assist in his first game back from a hernia. Johan Larsson scored his first of the season for Buffalo, and Ryan Miller made 26 saves.

Sabres Snap Pens' Win Streak With Comeback Victory
Buffalo beat Pittsburgh 4-2 behind three 2nd-period goals, snapping Pittsburgh's 9-game winning streak to open the season. James Neal and Evgeni Malkin (short-handed goal) scored in the first period for the Pens, but Cody Hodgson, Mike Weber (1st of the season), and Ville Leino all tallied to put Buffalo ahead for good. Luke Adam scored the empty-net goal, and Ryan Miller made 23 saves for his 7th win of the year.

Ouch: Boston Creams Buffalo 7-4 Behind Horton Hattrick
Nathan Horton heard a who at the Niagara Center in Buffalo, listening to coach Claude Julien's advice and then proceeded to score 3 goals (2 on the powerplay) and notch an assist for Boston in the first game of a home-and-home with Buffalo. Patrice Bergeron also scored and assisted, and Boston scored 4 goals on the powerplay against Jhonas Enroth. Matt Moulson, Kevin Porter, Luke Adam, and Cody Hodgson all scored a goal apiece for Buffalo, which stands at 7-3 and second in Division C.

Bruins Crush Sabres, Back On Track
Boston has now won 3 straight after their 5-2 win over Buffalo. Patrice Bergeron scored twice, Nathan Horton netted his 4th goal against Buffalo this season, and Milan Lucic and Chris Bourque each scored and assisted once. Cody Hodgson and Tyler Ennis scored for Buffalo, while Johnny Boychuck and Wade Redden both had 2 assists for Boston.

Bad Blood Brews As Red Wings Take Home Emphatic Division Win
There were 75 PIMs, including 5 fights and a game misconduct (Todd Bertuzzi) in Detroit's 5-3 win over Buffalo. Matt Moulson opened the scoring on the PP, but Henrik Zetterberg scored 2 goals and Pavel Datsyuk scored and had two assists to propel Detroit past their new divisional opponent. Kevin Porter scored for Buffalo, and Moulson scored his second of the night with 59 seconds left.

Just a couple notes about the last game, my CRAPPIEST GAME EVER.
We Lost to the Panthers, 10-0
Foglino got injured. Ennis has a broken leg. 3 people scored 2 goals apiece. Kopecky had 4 assists. Miller was pulled after 2 goals in 2 minutes. They took 24 shots. We were CRAP.

Yurevich Indicates Shakeup

The Buffalo Sabres™ have lost 4 games in a row by a combined score of 27-9. They gave up a league-record 10 goals in one game, to the Florida Panthers™, at that. They are without 1st-line defenseman Tyler Myers, point-leader Tyler Ennis, and second-line winger Marcus Foglino. The Buffalo Sabres, in short, are IN TROUBLE.

GM/Coach Akilles Yurevich has indicated that there will be changes, especially at the netminder and defense positions. Ryan Miller has been abysmal as of late, allowing 12 goals in 130 minutes. Jhonas Enroth has been no better, giving up an astounding 15 goals in his last two games.

Mr. Yurevich said:

We have play terrible last few games. Need to change. What wrong with Ryan [Miller]? Too many injuries. Need to change lines for more offense.

He went on to say that Corey Tropp will be called up from Rochester. The new forward lines appear to be:
1st: Moulson—Hodgson—Stafford
2nd: Leino—Ott—Adam
3rd: Porter—McCormick—Larsson
4th: Scott—Kaleta—Tropp

1st: Erhoff—McBain
2nd: Weber—McNabb
3rd: Ruhwedel—Pysyk

Yurevich also stated that the Sabres will be on the lookout for a new goalie, with Miller in the final year of his contract and performing miserably.

Ryan Miller was perfect on 30 shots by the Ottawa Senators as the Sabres scored 3 third-period goals to win 3-0, snapping their 4-game losing streak. Matt Moulson grabbed a loose puck and capitalized on the breakaway opportunity, and Ville Leino knocked home a rebound (assists: Kevin Porter, Brayden McNabb). Moulson scored the empty netter (Christian Erhoff, Jamie McBain).


Tyler Myers Sidelined With Broken Leg, Out Till February

Senators Take Second Game 3-0, Enroth Still Shaky
Jhonas Enroth allowed 2 first-period goals and the Ottawa Senators beat Buffalo 3-0 behind a 35-save performance by Robin Lehner. Steve Ott notched 12 PIMs for Buffalo, while Jhonas Enroth made 27 saves. Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek both scored and assisted once.

Glencross Scores 4 Times, Calgary Wins 5-4
Curtis Glencross scored his 4th goal of the game with 51 seconds remaining as the Flames held off Buffalo. Buffalo's top line was superb, with Matt Moulson scoring twice, assisting Cody Hodgson once (Hodgson also assisted one of Moulson's goals), and Drew Stafford tallied two assists. Jamie McBain was terrific, with great hitting and two assists. Johan Larsson scored his second goal of the year.

Kings Beat Sabres 2-1 With 2 Goals in 1st
Jeff Carter and newly-acquired Matt Frattin both scored goals in the first period. It was enough to give LA its 3rd win in a row, as the Sabres could only manage a Drew Stafford rebound tally (assisted by Matt Moulson). Ryan Miller made 35 saves in the loss, while counterpart Johnathan Quick made 30. Buffalo was 4/4 on the PK.

Buffalo Drops 4th Straight, Loses 2-0 to San Jose
Martin Havlat scored once and assisted on Patrick Marleau's second-period goal as San Jose handed Buffalo its 4th straight loss, 2-0. Ryan Miller made 22 saves, but Buffalo could not capitalize on their plethora of chances. Thomas Greiss made 18 save for the shutout.

Clarke MacArthur, Evander Kane, and Vinny Lecavalier all scored for Winnipeg as Buffalo lost its 5th straight game. Kevin Porter scored for Buffalo, while Jhonas Enroth made 22 saves.

ITS OVER! Sabres Dominate Lightning Behind Ott's 3 Assists
The Buffalo Sabres snapped their 5-game losing streak as they beat Tampa bay 4-1, in Tampa. Matt Moulson scored 2 goals, Kevin Porter scored his second consecutive, and Drew Stafford added the empty net goal. Ryan Miller made 21 saves. But the real story was Steve Ott's 3 assists, coupled with the fact that Christian Erhoff and Luke Adam also tallied 3 assists. Moulson is now 4th in the NHL in goals.
