Alexander Semin scored twice and had an assist to lead the Carolina Hurricanes past Buffalo 5-4 in OT. Jeff Skinner had 2 assists and a goal, while Eric Staal had a goal and assist. Luke Adam scored and assisted for Buffalo, while Kevin Porter, Tyler Myers and Evander Kane also scored.

Kane's Hat Trick Help Pasquale To First Buffalo Win
Eddie Pasquale (there, learned his name) made 40 saves on 42 shots and Evander Kane had a hat trick to send the Sabres past the Coyotes 5-2. Steve Ott had a goal and an assist, while Matt Moulson scored his league-leading 33rd goal. The PK went 6/7 in the win.

Burrows Leads Canucks To 4-1 Win Over Sabres
Alexandre Burrows scored a goal and had two assists to help Vancouver past Buffalo. Daniel Sedin had a goal and an assist while brother Henrik Sedin also notched an assist. Matt Moulson scored for Buffalo, assisted by Steve Ott.

Leino And Theodore Combine To Give Buffalo A Comeback Win Over Chicago
Jose Theodore made 36 saves on 39 shots and posted shutout second and third periods as the Sabres came back to beat the Blackhawks 4-3. Ville Leino scored two goals, as did NHL leader Matt Moulson. Mike Weber and Kevin Porter each had two assists.

Tyler Ennis and Cody Hodgson both return for Buffalo's next game @ San Jose!

Burns Lights Up Sabres For 3 Points In 5-3 Win
Brent Burns had a goal and two assists as the San Jose Sharks easily defeated the Buffalo Sabres. Martin Havlat also scored a goal and had an assist, while Big Joe Thornton had two goals in the win. Cody McCormick, Evander Kane, and Drew Stafford (0:54 in) scored for the Sabres.

Phoenix Wins 4-0; New Rivalry?
GAAHHHHH!! This was one of those games where you get all the tick-tacky penalties, the weird offsides, and 15 shots miss the net. Best quote, from Mr. Bill Clement: "His [Evander Kane] chances have been coming all night... the coach on the bench is telling him 'Keep shooting, one of these shots will go in...' [smugly] That hasn't happened yet."

Nope, just Bill Clement and Gary Thorne.

A big shout out to everyone who's posted so far: tazer19 (not for a while), SENS_AK27, bthomp, sunderman96. These last two pages have really had great interaction, I'm glad to see people enjoy this and I enjoy doing it as well. 8:02 AM—Heard that Winnipeg offered Buffalo a 2014 3rd rounder for starting goalie Jose Theodore.

8:05 AM—Buffalo turned 'em down.

9:17 AM—New York Rangers have acquird C/LW Patrick Elias form the New Jersey Devils for three AHL prospects.

Mel "Hockey" Kiper's Analysis: Not sure what they're thinking, but whenyou have Henrik Lundqvist you can do a lot of things other teams can't.

10:31 AM—Not much action today. A few call ups and send downs, but I think with playoff races so close not many teams are making moves.

10:58 AM—Buffalo Sabres talking to New York Rangers about Marek Hirvik. Sources say the Sabres are open to dealing D-man Alexander Sulzer.

11:59 AM—That deal falls through. Really low activity level, but I expect it will pick up in the second half of the day, from 12-2 PM.

1:31—The New York Rangers are back at it again, trading their 1st rounder in 2015 and Marek Hirvik to Phoenix for Pascal Dupuis.
