

Breaking News out of the Motor City this morning as Jessica Campbell has been hired by the Detroit Red Wings to be their new Assistant Coach joining Dan Bylsma's Staff.
"It's absolutely groundbreaking. History making." Red Wings Head Coach Dan Bylsma stated. "For us to make history on hiring a Female Coach is absolutely what the NHL needs moving into the future, I think. You look around at what's going on lately and Women are breaking down barriers across the NHL. Jessica and I sat down the other day and just talked Hockey. We got with Steve (Yzerman) and even he was impressed with Jessica."
Jessica was a former Player who played for the Canada National Team and got into Coaching after retirement.
After retiring from the Canadian national team in 2017, Campbell began coaching. She originally coached high school girls' hockey before launching her own coaching business. As owner of JC Powerskating, her clientele included Tyson Jost, Stanley Cup champion Joel Edmundson, and Olympic gold medalist Natalie Spooner.
In 2019, she was an assistant coach for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers and also served as an Assistant Coach for the German national team at the Men's world championship. She was the first woman to be a coach at the men's world championship.
The soon to be 28-year-old Campbell will join Head Coach Dan Bylsma behind the Bench for the Red Wings this season.
"It's amazing honestly." Said Campbell. "To be able to be the first Woman to be a Coach in the NHL, absolutely history and I feel I have set the standards here to carry that torch for more Women to come over and coach."
"She absolutely deserves this." Red Wings General Manager and President Steve Yzerman stated.


Ken Holland interviewed John Hynes already and will now look to interview former Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Travis Green for the Oilers Coaching vacancy.
Green was fired April 5 when the Canucks missed the Playoffs for the 5th year in a row.
Green interviewed with the Washington Capitals on May 30.


Canucks Owner Francesco Aquilini has been busy over the past few Days. After firing Head Coach Travis Green and GM Jim Benning on April 5, He's been starting on a massive rebuild for his Hockey Club.
The Canucks have missed the Playoffs the past 5 years.
"After this season ended I knew it needed to happen. I needed to make drastic changes and these past few days I'm actually really excited to see the future of this Hockey team. Ken and I are building something special here and now bringing in Cammi will do wonders for our organization." Canucks Owner Francesco Aquilini stated.
"I'm excited to be here in Vancouver." New Executive V.P of Hockey Operations Cammi Granato stated. "I am blessed to be a Woman in such a huge Executive role in the NHL and the Vancouver Canucks. As Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations I am side by side with Ken and get to learn from him and help turn this organization around."
Granato was the captain of the U.S. Women's Hockey Team that won a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics.
Granatos Contract is being reported as a 4 year/3m Dollar Deal.


Kings General Manager Rob Blake is set to interview his next candidate, former Panthers Head Coach Bob Boughner.
Boughner interviewed with the Boston Bruins on May 30th but wasn't offered the job as of yet. The Bruins also interviewed former Golden Knights Coach Gerard Gallant yesterday.
Edmonton and Washington are also reporting that they have interest in interviewing Boughner.


New Jersey Devils Assistant General Manager Kate Madigan has reached out to the New York Rangers to request an interview with Lindy Ruff.
Ruff,60 has been an Assistant Coach with the Rangers since the 2017-2018 Season.
"We're still in the process of interviewing our next Head Coach of the Devils. Ray and myself are making Calls." Madigan stated.
Yesterday the Devils interviewed former Oilers Coach Todd McLellan.


Panthers Head Coach Joel Quenneville is going to be 63 years old when the 2020-2021 season kicks off.
Born on September 15, 1958. The 62-year-old 3 Time Stanley Cup Winner with the Chicago Blackhawks has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
"Hasn't crossed my mind honestly." Coach Q said.
Coach Q has only been with the Panthers this season in which Florida missed the Playoffs with a 39-34-9 Record.
"I'm still committed to my Contract as the Head Coach of the Florida Panthers. I'm not slowing down yet and retirement isn't even an option." Coach Q stated.
