Re: Something in the Making: Lam Matteo (PES 2009)

You can tell Matteo is getting old. Tried to control the ball when the rebound got to his foot, instead of just tapping it straight in. For Christ' sake, you were standing a foot and a half from the goal line, Lam! Ugliest goal ever. :P
The goal in the 2nd match however was a beaty! Too bad they gave away the lead. I hope Fulham can put down a winning streak for the first time in years. It's always a loss after a win and vica versa. Would be nice to see them dominating the league as they should be playing in the Premier League....
    Soooo, keep it up.

Thanks, Izu. Yes - I made sure to drop his reaction rating a bit, not much - but enough to be noticed. PES 14 itself though has issues with reactions as is, so at some point - it might be the best 'resting' spot for Matteo, haha.

This team - and I know I need to post the squad - is pretty strong, but I am still finding the most realistic difficulty to play on and/or if there is a gameplay patch out there that fits what I am looking for. I did a lot of global editing and I think I got the most of the game as a result, but still holding out hope for something that REALLY changes the way it is played.

As far as PES14 is concerned, it's manageable - but I really, really, miss the customized stadiums to make it more realistic to the Npower Championship.

I know, I had to keep tapping the shoot button - the response in PES is a bit lacking, but is quite realistic to me.

Ha, I know. Love PES celebrations. I forget which version it was, but the one where (I think PES 2008) the camera pans back to the crowd when you score - that was my favorite presentation.

More games coming - can't wait for a real gameplay patch though. Too bad I can't update to the latest version because I'd lose my ML.

The team does indeed look stronger, looks like fewer goals where Matteo just has to go it alone.

Yeah, they are quite offensive minded. I had to do a lot of global edits to get the teammates playing right though; no more aimless dribbling and delaying crosses - so for Matteo's sake he'll find himself on the end of them - but the team will at least be able to threaten goal even if he's not on the pitch.

I know, Izu. It's been in the back burner with NCAA and FIFA - but I was seeking some gameplay patches yesterday that have peaked my interest in PES14 again.

I will have a couple updates on here though for sure. Funny you post, right when I made the decision to do so. Good to see you!

Congrats on your first victory over Ghana!
Now please do me a favor and annihalate Portugal... I would love to see them go home after only 3 matches.

Now it wasn't a total annihalation, but a 2-1 victory over those Portuguese clowns is good enough for me! It's well deserved too!

Man - Izu, why did I just see these posts now? Thanks for the play by play to my heart breaking. Oh well!

Btw - if you look at all PES 14 posts, they're gone. Can't stand the game, but I want to get Matteo rolling again - and crazily at that. Stay tuned - updates very soon.

Lam Matteo (Home) and Philippe Senderos (Away) will sport this year's 2025 Kits designed by Kappa and sponsored by MEDIACOM.

Re: Something in the Making: Lam Matteo (PES 2009)

I just spent the last couple hours revisiting this thread of mine. It's been a minute since the last update and yes it's due to my high standards of soccer simulation. I've felt there have been those games that I couldn't put down, and those I could quickly get rid of. PES 2014 is a joke, one of the worst in the series. So it came down to seeing what I enjoyed the most in this series. PES 10 was the obvious choice considering how much success Matteo had - but at the same time - I don't want easy, and to make it more clear, the damn game wouldn't run right on my PC.

So, with that said, it's going to be....................

That's right. PES 2011 again. I had loads of fun playing it. The gameplay was superb, and I struggle to remember why I ever put it down - especially considering what time I spent with PES 12 and 13. The reason I didn't want PES 12 and PES 13 is because I felt the overall feel and presentation of the game was just 'off'. I spent a lot of time on PES 13 editing and what not - but there's just something about how the game feels that I couldn't get past anymore.

So PES 2011 it is. Let's enjoy this ride with Lam Matteo. He's getting up there in age, I won't give PES 15 a shot until I know for sure it's something that is even worthy of Matteo's presence.

                              On with the story...............

                              -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                              The Npower Championship welcomes:

and bid farewell to the promoted sides:

                                TheSun UK : Football Report
                                MATTEO'S LOVE

Most footballers are tatted up these days, and it was no surprise that Lam Matteo recently got ink done this offseason after an "indifferent" 2025 season. Matteo has two matching tattoos (the same on each arm, so four total) that he states is "the nucleus" of what makes his world work.

The first tattoo starts at the top of his pinky knuckle, all the way to the back of his elbow, are inscribed the words: "2014 +
In æternum non obliviscar" which means "2014 (cross) Never Forget" in Latin. This is the daily reminder of Matteo's 2014 car crash that left the striker seemingly crippled at the time. "I will never forget that day - it was the start of my rebirth."

The second tattoo is one that will give all Cottagers faithful peace. Located on both wrists is the Fulham crest with the names "Lex", Matteo's 14-year old son Alexander, and "Ess", Matteo's wife Essara, inscribed on both sides of the Fulham crest. "This is where my heart is," says Matteo, "My love for Fulham football club and the two most important people in my life."

With such dedication and acknowledgement to what drives him, it's no wonder this part of London is starting to heat up in talks of a Fulham return to the Premier league this season - and it starts with Lam Matteo.
