Another part of me wants him to go back to Holland, to finish his career where he started it -- to complete the circle. And another part of me thinks it just best that he stay at Fulham even if its in front of miniscule crowds

    I feel so confused.
You know I love the transfer window as much as anyone. And with only 15 games in now - it feels like there needs something to happen regarding Matteo's career. He is breaking records left and right; scoring goals at will. I blame a lot of this due to PES 11-13; it is very easy on PlayerCam imho. Plus the gameplay can be underwhelming.

The biggest change that I would make would switching to PES 6...or FIFA 13. At the moment FIFA 13 is a heck of a game, and quite difficult in player camera mode (BAP). Plus with gameplay patches, and more responsive (plus better player models) controls it feels like a possibility. The true test for me, will be if I wait for after the season - or just do it now.

MLS would be a dream ending. And even if Matteo stops playing, I have not removed any chances of him coaching again - although that would again depend on what game (FIFA 11 was used for his time at Wolves coaching).

The spoiled opportunities and the fact that he is literally the team this year is tough to swallow. If Matteo doesn't score - it's hardly any points - which pits him further away from retiring on a high. But maybe that's not the story line anymore.

Exactly - the defeats are heart breakers because if Matteo doesn't score, it's trouble regarding points.

I haven't ruled that out yet - who knows. Right now he's not getting paid, and is struggling with a mediocre team.

That's what I'm hoping for down the road. Another My Player would be great!

I just think it would be great to see Matteo go out with some silverware. He's never won any before has he?

Also, just to agree with the above, Fifa 13 is amazing.

Re: Something in the Making: Lam Matteo (PES 2009)

It is painful to see Fulham struggle this much. Without Matteo I see them ending up in the League 1 next year even...
And Matteo has stated before that Fulham is his home, only to leave it for Milan a year later. The call for some much deserved prizes is great. And nobody blamed him for leaving I guess.
He just put a lot of pressure on himself stating he'd stick with Fulham till the end of his career. What if they don't get their promotion? Will he play for free another year? It was a noble gesture, but not thought all the way through.
And at some point, I feel like Fulham would rather sell him anyway. They must be struggling financially still, and they won't be doing any better next season if they don't promote. An cash-flow injection is much welcomed, even if it means they have to sell Matteo. That'll probably a more common thought in the minds of the policy makers if that scenario takes place.
It's a tough decision. And the current situation is plenty of food for thought seeing the current discussion going on. It does make me wonder if he'll stick around till the end of the season. Since he really does deserve to win some metal. He'd probably be the last person to admit that though.

Also Fifa is obviously a lot harder. It would stop Matteo dead in his tracks trying to score as many goals as he's scoring now. You'd think that if he'd play for a better team, Man U for example even, the goals would come even easier, being surrounded by so many brilliant players. That would probably not happen playing fifa. Although I don't know how good your fifa skills are of course.
What I do notice with PES is that my teams always encountered a bit of a 'down period', and after a couple of weeks the quality would pick itself up again with better playing teammates. Who knows, it might just be that that's what's happening with Fulham right now. Unfortunately you don't necessarily have the time to figure out if that's the case with the transfer window coming up.

To sum things up: I have no freakin' clue what Matteo's next step should be!

I think you're right about the down periods, Izu. Seems to be the case here too. The thing I notice from FIFA is that the players are smarter with and without the ball. PES, in player cam/fixed mode - has a sense of what you would see in a rec soccer game - where the player would suck in the defenders so they can make a pass. It's like PES cpu players do the same thing, instead of playing quickly to feet - etc.

FIFA is definitely harder, but then again, it's FIFA. While FIFA13 is a good game - I'm only 15+ games away from finishing the season with PES13; but these are trying times lol, I have been frustrated with the gameplay and the ease of scoring.

What I have decided to do is switch to manual shooting the rest of the way. This could create a story line of sorts in case I can't get the handle of it. Let's see how it goes.

Yeah, definitely don't switch now mid season. Matteo's had his fair share of that throughout his career. :P It always turns into some kind of irregularity. I'd rather see how this season plays out.
And if you played this last match on manual shooting... fine then! Only 20 more matches to win.

So, I got everything back up. I downloaded a patch that installed over EVERYTHING - luckily I was able to manually remove it one by one, it took a long time. Back up wasn't too far away and actually got back on track.

Will have regular updates from here on out.
